WARNING :  What good does it do if you know everything there is to know about prophecy and YOU are LOST?

Daniel 8:9   And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east,   and toward the pleasant land .

A vision is given to Daniel showing how Alexander the Great would conquer the Medo-Persian Empire and that the antichrist would rise from one of the 4 kingdoms into which Alexander's dominion was broken.   The point we are parenthetically making here is that the relevant text is identifying the antichrist's country of origin.

Read the complete text of Daniel showing that the antichrist will rise out of Assyria .

We read that Alexander's kingdom was broken into 4 parts.  Thrace, Macedonia, Syria, Egypt. [ No one has ever maintained in prophecy text or commentary (that I know of) that the antichrist will arise from Thrace or Macedonia; more on why it will not be Thrace/Macedonia later.  (Most say that the antichrist rises in Europe or out of the "Revived Roman Empire", another expression meaning Europe). ]  Of the 4 Alexandrian parts, that leaves but 2, Syria (Seleucid) and Egypt.   We have to eliminate Egypt because antichrist conquers Egypt .  This leaves us with Syria (or the ancient Assyria) which covers modern Syria, Jordan, Iraq as the country from which antichrist rises.  The Syrian portion of the Empire of Alexander the Great was ruled by the Seleucids. This is a map of the empire as ruled by the Seleucids in the east (and the other 3 parts of Alexander's Empire as it was divided, Egypt in the south, Macedonia in the West, as well as the northern portion.  Antichrist will arise out of what was then the Seleucid empire.)

Four parts of Alexander's Empire

We read that Daniel sought for the meaning-
Daniel 8:15   And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel , had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning , then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

Daniel got his answer from the arch-angel Gabriel-
Daniel 8:16   And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel , make this man to understand the vision.

Gabriel said the vision (just described) was at the TIME of  THE END-
Daniel 8:17   So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision .

Gabriel showed A KING OF FIERCE COUNTENANCE in the LATTER TIME ARISES  out of These PARTS
Daniel 8:23   And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance , and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

Gabriel further showed that the antichrist magnified himself and stopped the Jewish sacrifice-
Daniel 8:11   Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away , and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

We know that the endtime antichrist will break a covenant and stop the temple sacrifice of the Jews and that-
HE SHALL STAND UP AGAINST JESUS CHRIST and SHALL be BROKEN BY THE SMITING STONE
(Daniel 8:25 continued) he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes ; but he shall be broken without hand .

HE SHALL MAGNIFY HIMSELFand BY PEACE SHALL DESTROY MANY
Daniel 8:25   And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart , and by peace shall destroy many :

Interestingly enough, the antichrist shall be mighty but shall do so by sponsorship and the power of others-
Daniel 8:24   And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power : and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people .

The US and the Vatican are already working with and promoting a "moderate" Arab leader.  Is he the eventual antichrist?  Time will tell.  The eventual antichrist may well  use the military might of the US.  He will use military  might to first destroy the mighty ( in military campaigns ), but later the Jews and the tribulation saints will be his target.

The rise of antichrist will be deceptive, the result of an intelligence operation at the highest levels.  The antichrist causes " craft " to prosper. "Craft" in Strong's Concordance is word # 4820 and means "fraud, deceit, and treachery."   He also shall " understand dark sentences " in Daniel 8:23.  Interestingly enough, the Strong's Concordance word for " dark " AND " sentences " is the SAME word,  # 2420.  They mean "trick" saying.  Hence, since the word is used twice, the "trick" is to give out double meanings in the same phrase. The essence of an intelligence operation is misleading information (dual information).  The antichrist (DURING HIS RISE) understands " dark sentences ."   He has been (and will be) involved in intelligence operations in the "war on terror." An example of a dual meaning - "peace process" really translates into "war", and (for some) "war on terror" means "war on Islam."

Antiochus Epiphanes, a "type"  of the antichrist, " [spoke] lies at a table. "  No doubt, the eventual antichrist will also.

By the way, in William Safire's recent Times article, he names a Jordanian as the NUMBER ONE SPY in the WORLD this year.  He says he can not tell WHY.  He claims as a source "international intelligence contacts." Is this the unfolding of " craft " and " dark sentences ?"  This development, we shall see, is in the geographic area in which the antichrist arises.

Now we have identified the place of origin of the antichrist and the method of his rise to power, not by his own power.  Let's proceed to the topic at hand- the location of his "beast" political empire and how this empire is being built as described in today's news media.

We know from the following text of the journal Israel and Palestine Strategic Update for March 25 that the United States has as it's objective the " RE-DRAWING [of] the MIDDLE EASTERN MAP ."  The United States is doing this to establish a buffer between Israel and its Moslem enemies to resolve the MidEast peace problem.  Of course, we have read above that the eventual nature of the "peace" will be to "destroy many."  Daniel 8:25.  In order to " redraw the the middle eastern map ", a new political "entity" must be created.    This new political "entity" will need a ruler.  Secretary Rumsfeld made reference to this "entity" recently as a substitute for the discredited Palestinian Authority .

There is a suggested reason to "redraw the Middle Eastern Map" and create a new central Muslim state in Huntington's book The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order .

What problem has the author of Clash of Civilizations identified which prohibits a solution to the East-West clash?   The answer is found on page 177 and page 264 of the Clash of Civilizations .

p 177   The ABSENCE OF AN ISLAMIC CORE STATE is a major contributor to the ... conflicts which characterize Islam.

p 264   Islam is a source of instability in the world because it LACKS A DOMINANT CENTER.

So, according to Huntington, if Islam had a dominant central state , the problem would be solved.   For the complete commentary on the Clash of Civilizations see this.   A dominant central state is exactly what the Bible predicts.

In the commentary on the Clash of Civilizations you will also find the rationale for the Chinese invasion of the Middle East, the 200,000,000 man army of the "kings of the east."

from the website of Lyndon Larouche we find this quote concerning Rumsfeld's "entity"-
http://www.larouchepub.com/other/2002/2914passover_war.html
we  read:

The journal Israel and Palestine Strategic Update for March 25, edited by veteran Israeli peace activist Maxim Ghilan, warned that broader war plans have been under discussion by the Pentagon war hawks, led by Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and some of those surrounding Vice President Dick Cheney, who " have elaborated a strategic plan directed at re-drawing the Middle Eastern map. " This plan is "based on Ariel Sharon's and Shaul Mofaz's direct and detailed suggestions.... According to this concept, and after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in Iraq by Anglo-American forces, the Palestinians would be 'evacuated' [thrown out] from both Western Palestine/Eretz Israel and from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan . This would allow Israel to become an 'ethnically pure' Jewish State."

The journal's forecast continued, " Jordan would be included in Greater Israel, up to the Iraqi border, perhaps with some minor border-corrections. The Hashemite Kingdom would disappear .... The Palestinians would be evacuated and driven over the Iraqi border and settled in population-poor and underdeveloped Iraqi areas .... Syria's regime would be overthrown in a 'Blitzkrieg,' a lightning-fast Israeli/American offensive and a new, pro-American free market Syrian state established instead."

In early April the Israeli-Lebanon border heated up, with the firing of anti-tank rockets and other incidents in the disputed zone. Sharon has threatened to launch a strong reprisal against Hezbollah's alleged sponsors, Syria and Iran. In this context, Rumsfeld's March 28 emphatic addition of Syria to the "axis of evil" had dangerous implications.

The other flashpoints are Jordan and Egypt . Up to eight weeks of military operations in the West Bank will, without doubt, send desperate Palestinians across the Jordan River to seek safety in the Hashemite Kingdom . This possibility terrifies Jordan , which has kept its border closed up until now. With a Jordanian population which is already over 50% Palestinian, it may be impossible to keep these borders closed. A new massive flow of refugees fleeing Israel's offensive could lead to a collapse of the Jordanian monarchy .

If Israel launches operations in the Gaza Strip, Egypt would face the same prospect of refugees fleeing across its borders. Already in the recent past, Israeli military units have made incursions into Egyptian territory during flanking operations against the Palestinians in Gaza. These incursions, though recently reported in the Israeli press, have been kept out of the international media.

As Israel regionalizes the war, moving against Lebanon and Syria, its forces will be overextended. To be able to maintain the escalation, then, Sharon will be tempted to move to the nuclear option . The two most likely targets for such a nuclear strike, would be Baghdad and Tehran.

Since, LaRouche is opposed to United States policy in the Middle east, one can take some of what he says with a grain of salt. [ He has shown a consistent anti-Israel stance, for example.  I do not, for example, necessarily believe his statement that the palestinians  will be driven into what is now Iraq and that the Hashemite kingdom will disappear. The Hashemite empire might actually INCREASE and flourish as a result. ] However, we do not need LaRouche's statements to know that the United States intends to redraw the Mideastern map. Numerous sources indicate that the United States intends to redraw the Mideast map.  This would include the President in the State of the Union address.

01-28-2003
State of the Union address of President Bush of today's date.
Our goal in the middle east- " a democratic Palestine. "
Since Palestine does not exist, this begs the questions:
Where will it be?  How it will it come to be?

Making a "democratic Palestine"  is the real reason for deposing Saddam Hussein.   Regime change in Iraq will enable the "redrawn Mideastern map."  This will lead to a new "political entity."  One need not be FOR or AGAINST this campaign.  The campaign is in God's hands in any case.    You can read about official United States Naval War College Doctrine here
and how the official doctrine promotes continued war in the mideast.

The Location of the Rising Beast Empire

The last vestiges of a World  Empire described in the book of Daniel is seen also in Revleation 13:1-2 .  The characteristics of the endtimes empire in Revelation are like a leopard (Greece), with feet of a bear (Medo-Persia), and the mouth of a lion (Babylon).  The "body" is a leopard (the dominating feature of the beast is therefore Grecian, covering the geographic territory of Alexander the Great's empire).   Therefore, the main BODY of the beast is located in none other than ancient Assyria. [The Bible refers to the antichrist as "the King of Assyria", Isa 10:12].  This is is in the exact location of White House aide Wolfowitz's " elaborated ... strategic plan to REDRAW the Middle eastern map ."

This redrawn map will encourage the travel of the antichrist between his newly granted territory and Israel.  In fact, the antichrist is not going to attack the Palestinians (western Jordanians) in his plans

Where will such a land be?  It is located right where our lead-in verse tells us.  We just have not been looking carefully at this verse and listening to exactly what it says. [Too often our ideas start with some notion other than the Bible itself.]

Daniel 8:9   And out of one of them [ one of Alexander the Great's 4 divisions ] came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east and toward the pleasant land

If this kingdom waxes EXCEEDING GREAT,
TOWARD THE SOUTH,
EAST,
and the PLEASANT LAND (Israel/Palestine).

Follow me here:  these directions point to 3 mutually exclusive compass directions.

The kingdom is growing in THREE (3) directions.  If the kingdom was West of Israel, EAST and the PLEASANT LAND would be the same direction.  Therefore, the kingdom is NOT west of Israel.  If the kingdom was North of Israel, the SOUTH and PLEASANT LAND would be redundant. Therefore, the kingdom is not north of Israel.  This leaves SOUTH of Israel and EAST of Israel as our 2 choices.  We have to eliminate the SOUTH of Israel because the antichrist attacks and conquers the king of the south - Egypt .

This leaves us with EAST of Israel as the place of the new "entity."  This is the exact place of the " redrawn Mid-eastern map " of Wolfowitz and Cheney.  Jordan/Iraq is the place.  The United States policy in the Mideast is to build a central democratic state, which should eventually (they hope)  lead to a "free" and democratic group of nations that will presumably not support terrorism. Some have said that the "armageddonists" are supporting the war in Iraq in order to facilitate the second coming of Christ, but, this is a ridiculous notion.  Right or wrong, the Bush administration is conducting the war in Iraq for the very reason that they stated - "freeing" Iraq.  Unknown to the Bush administration is the fact that they are building a "free" nation in the very center of the future Biblical kingdom of the antichrist.

Eventually , during the tribulation period, the kingdom of the antichrist will expand from the Iraq/Jordan area toward the EAST toward the SOUTH and toward the PLEASANT LAND.  This will include such countries as Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Syria.

This was Alexander the Great's Empire-  (Is it any wonder why there is a push on to place Turkey in the EU and away from this emerging empire?)

Map of Alexander the Great

03-21-2003
  1. Of course, others know of our plan and will oppose it.  Russia (or a Central Asian Islamic coalition) will attack from the North, Ezekiel 38-39, Gog and Magog, and Red China will send a 200,000,000 man army in Rev 16:12  and Rev 9:16.  Saudi Arabia had previously been opposed to using their land as a staging area and they have had THREE (3) members of the Royal family to die within a 7 day period (a statistically strange situation).  At the least a great deal of preparation is being made by those in favor of and opposed to the "beast empire."  If the opposition killed 3 members of the Saudi Royal family to gain control over the country to prohibit its use in the Iraq invasion, then, Saudi Arabia could become one of the targets of the emerging military power in the Mideast.   The Bible says that the antichrist will conquer three countries after his rise to power.  One of them could well be Saudi Arabia.  In fact, the possibility of Saudi Arabia being on the list has already come out in the media .

"According to one source, the research reaches the result that the military attack against Iraq is " a tactical objective ,"   Saudi Arabia is " the strategic objective " and Egypt is " the big prize ."  (arabicnews.com).   On Frontline of 3-22-2003 a professor from Yale University pointed out that Saudi Arabia and Egypt were "undesirable."  The antichrist will find Egypt "undesirable" too.

The campaign of Armageddon will be the result of the coming war with Iraq and its fallout.  When the nations of Russia, China, and Islamic Central Asia are threatened by the presence of the United States military in the Middle East, especially since they have been told that the United States has an " imperialistic imperative " by Zbigniew Brezinski, The Grand Chessboard, American Primacy and its Geostrategic Imperatives and Samuel P. Huntington, The Clash of Civilizations , they will invade the Middle East.

It appears that such  books [Brezinski's and Huntington's]  have the intended purpose to provoke these nations to war.  Whether by accident or by design, the result will be the same.

According to STATFOR (a strategic forecasting group) there has been a plan to unite Jordan and Iraq all along.
From the following website we read-  (thanks to CM for finding this)

US plans to merge Iraq, Jordan after war  (A merger of Iraq-Jordan is exactly what is prophesied)
by Aslam Khan

 Stratfor , 26 September/ septembre 2002
Centre for Research on Globalisation (CRG),  Centre de recherche sur la mondialisation (CRM),  globalresearch.ca ,   29 September/ septembre 2002

The United States is working on a plan to merge Iraq and Jordan into a unitary kingdom to be ruled by the Hashemite dynasty headed by King Abdullah of Jordan with Amman as the capital of the proposed new country, reveals a startling report made available here on Friday.

The idea to unite Jordan and Iraq in a pro-US Hashemite kingdom after an American war is aimed at "ensuring a stable post-war Iraq", according to Stratfor, a strategic forecasting think tank based in the US.

It says that as a US war against Iraq nears both Washington and Middle Eastern players are working to make sure the expected American victory will result in strategic long-term gains . "The idea of a central Iraq populated by Sunni Arabs joining with Jordan to form one Hashemite kingdom is being considered as one way to secure such gains ," Stratfor says.

The plan, authored by US Vice President Dick Cheney, was first discussed at an unusual meeting between Crown Prince Hassan of Jordan and pro-US Iraqi Sunni opposition members in London in July.

The plan's goal in Iraq is to create a united Hashemite kingdom embracing Jordan and Iraq's Sunni areas. In a nutshell, the plan involves uniting Jordan and Sunni-populated areas of Iraq under the rule of the current Jordanian regime .

The report says this will be done if Iraqi Sunni leaders " appeal to King Abdullah with such a request , which has a weak but still legally valid justification, as Abdullah is the second cousin of the last Iraqi king, Faisal II, who was overthrown in 1958". The report says the plan will bring strategic benefits to the US, Israel and Jordan .

Benefits for US: The fact that the Western-based Iraqi opposition completely depends on Washington will help the "Hashemite Plan". The US favours the plan because the current goal of replacing Saddam Hussein with a pro-US Iraqi government still would not guarantee long-term US control over the territory and its oil.

" First , it may become too hard for a new government in Baghdad to effectively control the whole country , even with US troop support. An example is Afghanistan, in which the government of President Hamid Karzai still controls only the capital," the report says.

" Second , the new government's attempts to establish control over all of Iraq may well lead to a civil war between Sunni, Shia and Kurdish ethnic groups , with US troops caught in the middle. The fiercest fighting could be expected for control over the oil facilities," it adds. Uniting Jordan and Iraq under a Hashemite government will give US several strategic advantages.

"First, the creation of a new pro-US kingdom under the half-American Abdullah will shift the balance of forces in the region heavily in the US favour," the report says. After eliminating Iraq as a sovereign state, there would be no fear that one day an anti-American government would come to power in Baghdad, as the capital would be in Amman .

"Current and potential US geopolitical foes Iran , Saudi Arabia and Syria would be left isolated from each other , with big chunks of land between them under control of the pro-US forces," according to Stratfor.

"Equally important, Washington would be able to justify its long-term and heavy military presence in the region as necessary for the defence of a young new state asking for US protection and to secure the stability of oil markets and supplies. That in turn would help the US gain direct control of Iraqi oil and replace Saudi oil in case of conflict with Riyadh," it adds.

The richest oil areas would not go to the Hashemite kingdom but to a widely autonomous Kurdish region that still will be formally a part of the Hashemite state. To make sure the Kurds don't upset US ally Turkey by declaring an independent state, US will have the excuse of deploying its forces in the Kurdish region, with new bases located just next to oil fields in areas such as Kirkuk.

"Washington then will be able to offer the new Hashemite kingdom as a model for other Arab states, combining what the Arab masses see as the advantages of a traditional monarchy with the benefits of a US alliance," the report says.

"The potential combination of educated Iraqis, US aid and military assistance, and oil revenues might help the new state become a beacon for the Arab world to follow ," it adds. Were more states to adopt this example, the geopolitical influence of both Saudi Arabia and Egypt would decline, making it easier for Washington to deal with them.

See the following link for a scenario-
" In case of a future conflict with Saudi Arabia or Iran , US forces would be in the ideal position to strike not only from sea but also from land by using new bases in the Hashemite kingdom and the Kurdish region," the report reveals.

Benefits for Israel: "Iraq, arguably Israel's most determined foe, will be eliminated and Baghdad's end will deprive the Palestinians of much financial and other assistance, which can reduce the effectiveness of attacks against the Jewish state."

See the following link for a scenario-
Benefits for Jordan: " King Abdullah will vastly expand his role and prominence in the region with a joint Hashemite state, becoming the second-most important US ally after Israel. In addition to his huge territorial gains, he also will get a chunk of Iraqi oil.

"And Palestinians, who currently make up half of Jordan's population, will become a minority in the new state, with much less potential to stir up trouble," the report adds.

There are two potential scenarios in this situation-
1) Before the unification of Jordan and Iraq, there remains THREE essentially divided regions in Irag.  The rapture comes suddenly and then approximately 3 and one half years later the "plan" is completed, the antichrist "plucks up" the 3 kings (or 3 leaders) of Iraq .  Remember, the TEN (10) "kings", three of whom are "plucked up" have power only "ONE HOUR" with the "beast."   This means that the "plucking up" is later in the tribulation.  Therefore, if we are "close" to an event that is 3+ years into the tribulation and the rapture occurs before the tribulation, how far away can the rapture be?

OR

2) After the unification of Jordan-Iraq, the THREE foes listed above (Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia) are "plucked up ."

For recent statements made by Jordanian leadership read this.  (Check for the more recent updates.)

For an overview of Post War Iraq read this .

End 04-27-2003
For scenarios read the Bow and an alternative to the Bow .  Of course, "the Bow" is no longer a valid scenario, since we have already invaded Iraq, but, the "alternative to the Bow" is certainly viable.

Jordan Seen as Key to Solving the P.A. Problem: Three Plans
17:50 Jan 08, '04 / 14 Tevet 5764

Assuming that Israel is unable to reach an agreement with the Palestinian Authority, what should be done? Two basic approaches have recently been advanced: one involving unilateral Israeli withdrawals, and another involving Jordan . In fact, three different programs unveiled in the recent past by right-wing figures involve the Hashemite Kingdom .

the inescapable conclusion is that a partner for negotiating a settlement with Israel must be someone that is willing to take on the terrorists and is capable of subduing them... Israel has a neighbor to the east, which has demonstrated over the years both the determination and the ability to suppress terrorism. It is Jordan ..."

He says that Israel should work towards strengthening Jordan, as "the time may come when a prosperous Jordan will feel sufficiently strong and confident to assume the role of representing Palestinian interests in negotiations with Israel."

...the Palestinian state already exists - in Jordan .

Elon's plan, which can be seen at , comprises the following points:
* The Palestinian Authority will be dissolved;
* Israel will put a firm end to Palestinian terrorism by expelling terrorists, collecting weapons, and dismantling terror-hotbed refugee camps;
* The international community will recognize the Hashemite Kingdom as the sole representative of the Palestinians, and will help it economically as it absorbs a limited number of refugees;
* Israel will become sovereign over Judea, Samaria and Gaza, and the Arabs living there will be Jordanian citizens living under a form of autonomy yet to be determined;
* The exchange of Jewish and Arab populations begun in 1948 will be completed, and the international community will help rehabilitate the refugees in their new countries;
* Israel and Jordan-Palestine will declare the conflict ended and will work together as neighbors.

Jordan, too, has a problem with Palestinian refugees, which is getting worse and worse. This solution will solve Jordan's problem as well. Once the new state is built and successful , there will be a voluntary emigration to it."

The centrality of the invasion of Iraq by the United States as the "operational"  beginning of the formation of the future political empire of Revelation 13 is best understood when we read a 1996 study for the Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studies .  This study was to be used by Prime Minister of Israel Netanyahu as a "strategic" definition of his vision for a proactive policy to further the security interests of the nation Israel .

[Friends, what you are about to read here is a 1996 blueprint for the actions of the Ariel Sharon Likud government for the last few years, as well as a blueprint for the real rationale for invading Iraq .  The irony of the situation is that Israel's [and the United States'] strategic policy for defending Israel will lead to the political empire of the future antichrist as revealed in the Books of Daniel and Revelation.  As I have stated numerous times, this website does not support nor does it oppose policies.  All we do is try to report the policies and actions as they relate to Biblical prophecy .

There is much "liberal" commentary that avers that "Zionists", "Jews", and "radical fundamentalists" promoted the invasion of Iraq to hasten the Second Coming.  It is doubtful that many neo-conservatives, who
did support the invasion of Iraq, even believe in the reality of the Rapture or Second Coming.  Nobody but a post millennialist, or an amillennialist,  would even suggest such a foolish thing; because they believe they are responsible for making heaven on earth.  It is assuredly not premillennialist "dispensationalists" who believe the Lord's return can be hastened by their actions, their policies, and least of all their support of  war.

NOBODY CAN ALTER THE FACT THAT THE ALMIGHTY HIMSELF (and no one else) WILL BRING PROPHECY TO FULFILLMENT.  NOBODY ELSE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN AND NOBODY CAN PREVENT IT.  God uses unwitting men to fulfill his will.]

Here are examples of such "liberal" commentary:

http://www.antiwar.com/roberts/?articleid=2365
This is exactly what American evangelical Christians desire, according to George Monbiot. In The Guardian (April 20), Monbiot describes the strong support Christian fundamentalists provide for Bush’s Middle Eastern war. " True believers" actively seek to provoke a final battle with the Muslim world. They believe this will usher in the Rapture, and they will be wafted up to heaven, where they will sit at the right hand of God and watch the rest of us endure the Years of Tribulation.
http://www.antiwar.com/justin/?articleid=2775
Ronald Reagan isn't the only Republican President in modern times to invoke the tenets of fundamentalist Christianity to buttress his "born-again" Protestant base . George W. Bush depends almost entirely on the loyalty of the dispensationalist Rapture-believing preachers of apocalypse who mobilize their millions of followers behind the GOP – and the War Party . While Hitchens, the militant enemy of all religion, was calling for a crusade to democratize and secularize the Middle East by force, Pat Robertson was calling for a holy war against the "Satanic" Saddam and pointing to the Middle East turmoil as the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy .
http://www.antiwar.com/justin/j020303.html
Let's be clear about the theme and context of these "novels"[ Left Behind ] : they're all about how God is going to "rapture" up into the sky all those trailer park "Christians" who give money to Pat Robertson . The rest of us depraved sinners will be left behind. But not before all the world's Jews are gathered together in Israel, where the great battle of Armageddon is supposed to take place – signaling the End of History (Francis Fukuyama, take note!) and the Return of Christ the King. According to the "dispensationalist" con men who preach this clap-trap, Israel will take the place of the Church on earth , and a new "dispensation" (or era) will be inaugurated, as mankind approaches the "End Times."   And they say the Muslims are mired in "medievalism"!   Millions of Americans believe this pitiful nonsense . They pine for a nuclear Armageddon because it will fulfill their "prophecies." They ignore the national interests of their own country, and worship at the altar of Israel , functioning as a far more effective – and dangerous – fifth column than any commie "conspiracy" ever did.  {Question for reader- who would be opposed to Protestant America and the " altar of Israel ?"  Suggestion for reader- the next time you find yourself calling for revenge on Islamists or saying that all Islamists are terrorists; just remember that the overwhelming majority of the Iraqis are victims caught in a terrible situation.  When you pray, pray for the Iraqi people too.}
Let it be said that this "dispensationalist con-man" would never say that Israel replaces the church on earth (or vice versa for that matter).  All the programs of God are just that - by the Almighty and for the Almighty.  Nor is this " trailer park Christian " in support of a post-millennialist like Pat Robertson, who actually made a recommendation to the CFR promoting a type of World Order as described in his book by the same name.  Nor is this preacher of " clap-trap " in support of the War Party .  Neither does this " mired in medievalism " " preacher of apocalyps e" " pine for Armageddon ." When the Lord has dealt with you , you gain no pleasure from the trials of others.  God's truth is a sobering reality and the mouths of all of us are stopped completely by His truth.  Not a day goes by when I am not burdened by what the world will have to endure in the " hour of temptation ."   Neither is this "true believer " "actively seek[ing] to provoke a final battle with the Muslim world " in order to " usher in the rapture ."

It is NOT "dispensationalists " who believe they are going to save the world and the MiddleEast from its problems.  It is the politicos and religious post-millennialists that believe they are going to solve the world's problems. We KNOW what happens when we take matters into our own hands - we always fail.  To say that true Bible believers conduct themselves to fulfill prophecy is to say one knows nothing of the sovereign Almighty God because all the believers are to do is Wait Upon the Lord .  Furthermore, such tirades against "fundamentalists" and "dispensationalists" are calculated to eventually lead to their addition to the list of "evil doers".  These "evil doers" will be none other than the martyred tribulation saints The very effort of labelling " dispensationalists mired in medievalism " in support of the " War Party " lays the foundation for lumping together all "fundamentalists" for blanket condemnation and persecution.   Clash of Civilizations by Huntington says on page 111 "Lutheranism and Calvinism, Shi'ite and Sunni fundamentalism, and even parallels between John Calvin and the Ayatollah Khomeini ... the central Spirit of both the Reformation and the [Islamic] Resurgence is fundamental reform. . "   Knowing these things are going to happen makes any Bible believer fearful for the lives of the tribulation saints and in no way supportive of a "Christian" war on Islam.   ]

A Clean Break:
A New Strategy for Securing the Realm

Following is a report prepared by
The Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studie s "Study Group on a New Israeli Strategy Toward 2000 ." The main substantive ideas in this paper emerge from a discussion in which prominent opinion makers, including Richard Perle, James Colbert, Charles Fairbanks, Jr., Douglas Feith, Robert Loewenberg, David Wurmser, and Meyrav Wurmser participated. The report, entitled "A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm," is the framework for a series of follow-up reports on strategy.

Note: IASPS says on its website http://www.israeleconomy.org/about.htm  The Institute for Advanced Strategic & Political Studies (IASPS) is a Jerusalem-based think tank with an affiliated office in Washington, D.C.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s government comes in with a new set of ideas. While there are those who will counsel continuity, Israel has the opportunity to make a clean break ; it can forge a peace process and strategy based on an entirely new intellectual foundation, one that restores strategic initiative and provides the nation the room to engage every possible energy on rebuilding Zionism, the starting point of which must be economic reform. To secure the nation’s streets and borders in the immediate future , Israel can:

Work closely with Turkey and Jordan to contain, destabilize, and roll-back some of its most dangerous threats . This implies clean break from the slogan, "comprehensive peace" to a traditional concept of strategy based on balance of power.

Change the nature of its relations with the Palestinians , including upholding the right of hot pursuit for self defense into all Palestinian areas and nurturing alternatives to Arafat’s exclusive grip on Palestinian society.

Forge a new basis for relations with the United States —stressing self-reliance, maturity, strategic cooperation on areas of mutual concern, and furthering values inherent to the West. This can only be done if Israel takes serious steps to terminate aid, which prevents economic reform.

This report is written with key passages of a possible speech marked TEXT , that highlight the clean break which the new government has an opportunity to make. The body of the report is the commentary explaining the purpose and laying out the strategic context of the passages.

A New Approach to Peace

Early adoption of a bold, new perspective on peace and security is imperative for the new prime minister. While the previous government, and many abroad, may emphasize "land for peace "— which placed Israel in the position of cultural, economic, political, diplomatic, and military retreat — the new government can promote Western values and traditions. Such an approach, which will be well received in the United States, includes " peace for peace ," " peace through strength " and self reliance: the
balance of power .

A new strategy to seize the initiative can be introduced:

TEXT:

We have for four years pursued peace based on a New Middle East. We in Israel cannot play innocents abroad in a world that is not innocent. Peace depends on the character and behavior of our foes. We live in a dangerous neighborhood, with fragile states and bitter rivalries. Displaying moral ambivalence between the effort to build a Jewish state and the desire to annihilate it by trading " land for peace " will not secure " peace now ." Our claim to the land —to which we have clung for hope for 2000 years--is legitimate and noble. It is not within our own power, no matter how much we concede, to make peace unilaterally. Only the unconditional acceptance by Arabs of our rights, especially in their territorial dimension, "peace for peace," is a solid basis for the future.

...

Moving to a Traditional Balance of Power Strategy

TEXT:

We must distinguish soberly and clearly friend from foe. We must make sure that our friends across the Middle East never doubt the solidity or value of our friendship.

Israel can shape its strategic environment, in cooperation with Turkey and Jordan, by weakening, containing, and even rolling back Syria. This effort can focus on removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq — an important Israeli strategic objective in its own right — as a means of foiling Syria’s regional ambitions .
Jordan has challenged Syria's regional ambitions recently by suggesting the restoration of the Hashemites in Iraq . This has triggered a Jordanian-Syrian rivalry to which Asad has responded by stepping up efforts to destabilize the Hashemite Kingdom, including using infiltrations. Syria recently signaled that it and Iran might prefer a weak, but barely surviving Saddam, if only to undermine and humiliate Jordan in its efforts to remove Saddam.

But Syria enters this conflict with potential weaknesses: Damascus is too preoccupied with dealing with the threatened new regional equation to permit distractions of the Lebanese flank. And Damascus fears that the 'natural axis' with Israel on one side , central Iraq and Turkey on the other , and Jordan, in the center would squeeze and detach Syria from the Saudi Peninsula. For Syria, this could be the prelude to a redrawing of the map of the Middle East which would threaten Syria's territorial integrity.

Since Iraq's future could affect the strategic balance in the Middle East profoundly, it would be understandable that Israel has an interest in supporting the Hashemites in their efforts to redefine Iraq , including such measures as: visiting Jordan as the first official state visit, even before a visit to the United States, of the new Netanyahu government; supporting King Hussein by providing him with some tangible security measures to protect his regime against Syrian subversion; encouraging — through influence in the U.S. business community — investment in Jordan to structurally shift Jordan’s economy away from dependence on Iraq; and diverting Syria’s attention by using Lebanese opposition elements to destabilize Syrian control of Lebanon.

Most important, it is understandable that Israel has an interest supporting diplomatically, militarily and operationally Turkey’s and Jordan’s actions against Syria, such as securing tribal alliances with Arab tribes that cross into Syrian territory and are hostile to the Syrian ruling elite.

King Hussein may have ideas for Israel in bringing its Lebanon problem under control. The predominantly Shia population of southern Lebanon has been tied for centuries to the Shia leadership in Najf, Iraq rather than Iran. Were the Hashemites to control Iraq , they could use their influence over Najf to help Israel wean the south Lebanese Shia away from Hizballah, Iran, and Syria. Shia retain strong ties to the Hashemites: the Shia venerate foremost the Prophet’s family, the direct descendants of which — and in whose veins the blood of the Prophet flows — is King Hussein.

The Invasion of the Assyrian

The political empire which arises to power during the tribulation, about which the world asks-  " who is able to make war with him?" (Rev 13:4), a question directed at the military power of the eventual antichrist ,  is beginning to take its place among the surrounding nations in the middle east.

Allawi To Visit Syria, Seal Security Deals

By Salwa al-Astawani, IOL Correspondent

Damascus, July 20 (IslamOnline.net) – Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi is expected in Syria on July 23-24, for an official visit that will see the signing of border and security cooperation agreements for the first time since the Saddam Hussein regime fell over 15 months ago.

IslamOnline.net has learnt that Syrian and Iraqi security officials have reached the deals during bilateral talks in the Syrian capital on Sunday and Monday this week.

The agreements include "monitoring the long desert borders between the two Arab neighbors, running joint border patrols, exchanging intelligence with the aim of preserving both countries’ security and political regimes."

Following talks with Syrian Interior Minister Ali Hammoud in Damascus on Monday, July 19, Iraqi State Minister Adnan Al-Janabi told reporters that both sides have agreed to exchange intelligence on activities hostile to both regimes.
...
Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zibari Monday accused some neighboring countries – without naming any – of seeking to fight the United States on Iraq’s soil.

He further added that " such countries must understand that if violence were to continue and escalate in Iraq, chaos and instability would be sure to spill over ".

On July 4,
Zibari warned that Iraq might not oppose attacks by US troops based in Iraq on neighboring states if they were backing terrorists and insurgents ".
...
Observers believe the security deals are sure to open new dimensions of political and economic cooperation between Damascus and Baghdad, paving the way for restoring diplomatic ties.

Iraqi sources told IOL, in this respect, that Allawi would convey to the Syrians a firm pledge that Iraq would not interfere in the internal affairs of its neighbors, nor would it allow any attack on Syria to be launched from its soil .
[could this cooperation be the beginning of a deal which make Syria an ally of Iraq and thus completes the formation of a nation which covers the geographical territory of the old Assyrian empire?  Such a Kingdom would naturally fit the location of the King of the North in Daniel chapter 11 verses 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 15 which all refer to the ancient Kingdom of Assyria, which occupied present day Syria and Iraq.   Starting with verse 36 of Daniel chapter 11, the scene switches to a FUTURE Kingdom and the King of the North (also the antichrist) in Daniel 11:40 is seen as answering a military push by the King of the South, Egypt.  Some surmise that the King of the North is an ally with the King of the South against the eventual antichrist. However, this seems to be false when you look at Daniel 11:42-43.  Dan 11:40 says- and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, with horsemen, and with many ships (he must have the support of the US Navy, which Iraq certainly does); and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and passover. (If this king of the north is not the antichrist, then, where does the "king of the north" go and what does he do after he conquers?  The answer to this question starts in the next verse - the king of the north is the antichrist.  Getting the correct understanding of these kings, and the antichrist, will be critical to watching the events.)

He shall enter also into the glorious land (Israel), and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.  He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.  But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him . -- Daniel 11:41-45

(The timing of the antichrist's moving of  his headquarters to a location between the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean is made clear in the next verse. This time of " trouble, such as never was since there was a nation " can be none other than that referred to by Jesus Christ in Mathew 24:21 as " great tribulation " which is at the mid-point of the tribulation .)

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.      -- Daniel 12:1 ]

Egyptian diplomat abduction overshadows Iraq's ties with neighbors

By Liu Yunfei, Xin Jianqiang

CAIRO, July 23 (Xinhuanet) -- The abduction of an Egyptian diplomat by a militant group in Iraq has cast a shadow over security cooperation between violence-ravaged Iraq and its neighbors and even the United Nation's future role in Iraq.

The hostage was identified as Mohamed Mamdouh Qutb, the third most senior official at the Egyptian Embassy in Baghdad, Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV reported on Friday, airing footage that showed Qutb sitting in front of six masked men in black.

The report said that the group claimed they seized the diplomatin response to Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazef's remarks that Cairo is ready to offer its security experience to the interim Iraqi government.

News about the kidnapping came two days after Egypt and six neighbors of Iraq voiced readiness to work together with Iraq in security .

Continuing with the original islamonline.net quoted article--

Syria has deep concerns about the presence of massive US forces in Iraq at a time Washington is intensifying its accusing tone against Damascus.

The United States accuses Syria of harboring what it calls terrorists, developing weapons of mass destruction, and allowing foreign fighters into Iraq through its borders.

On Friday, December 12, US President George W. Bush signed into law the Syria Accountability bill which allows economic and diplomatic sanctions on the Arab country.

Syria is Allawi’s second stop during his multi-leg Arab tour which started Monday in Jordan.

Syrian officials have commented welcomingly on the visit, saying Allawi is an old friend of the Syrian leadership.

Damascus see
[sic] a stable and prosperous Iraq as one of its best strategic interest.

If you take a close at the book of Isaiah, Chapter 10 and verse 9, you will see something very interesting, if somewhat obscure.
Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?     -- Isaiah 10:9

The entire context is given here:
O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.  I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few .  For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?    Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?   As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria:   Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?  Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks . -- Isaiah 10:5-12

Looking at the Harper Atlas of the Bible , 1987, Time Books Limited, page 144, we find a map showing the invasion by the old testament King of Assyria, Tiglath-Pileser III. See the map of the Assyrian Invasion   These six (6) cities are the exact conquering route of the ancient king of Assyria on his way to conquering what is now the "West Bank." Could it be the FUTURE route of the antichrist as well?  The recent agreement between Iraq and Syria make this a distinct possibility.   It is said of the King

on this webpage - http://www.fact-index.com/t/ti/tiglath_pileser_iii.html

Tiglath-Pileser III - or Tilgath-Pil-neser, was the Assyrian throne-name of Pul, king of Assyria (744 - 727 BC). Assyrian inscriptions records, in the fifth year of his reign (739 BC), a victory over Azariah (Uzziah), king of Judah, whose achievements are described in 2 Chronicles 26:6-15. However, he is first mentioned in the Bible as gaining a victory over Pekah, king of Israel, and Rezin, king of the Arameans, who had allied against him. He put Rezin to death, and punished Pekah by taking a considerable portion of his kingdom, and carrying off a vast number of its inhabitants into captivity (2 Kings 15:29; 16:5-9; 1 Chronicles 5:6, 26), the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh whom he settled in Gozan. In the Assyrian annals it is further related that, before he returned from Syria, he held a court at Damascus, and received submission and tribute from the neighbouring kings, among whom were Pekah of Samaria and "Yahu-khazi [i.e., Ahaz], king of Judah" (compare 2 Kings 16:10-16).

He was the founder of what is called the Second Assyrian Empire, an empire meant to embrace the whole world, the center of which should be Nineveh. On his death, he was succeeded by a general of his army, Ulula, who assumed the name Shalmaneser V.

The net result is shown on this website - http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Isaiah

Soon after this Shalmaneser IV determined wholly to subdue the kingdom of Israel. Samaria was taken and destroyed.

Modern usage
Samaria or Sumaria (Hebrew: שומרון [Shomron]) is a term used for the mountainous northern part of the West Bank. In modern times, the name " Samaria " is most often used by Zionists when speaking a language other than Hebrew. Others prefer to use the collective name " West Bank " rather than "Judea and Samaria".

--

So what is to be concluded from this?  These are the successive cities (in order from 1 to 6) that the King of the North, the ancient King of Assyria, conquered on his route ultimately to include what is now called the West Bank, where the “wall” is being constructed today by Israel to control terrorism in the area.

If you plot the route taken by the ancient Assyrian king, it starts in the present day town of Mosul, Iraq, and heads due west from the Tigris River across western Iraq and across northern Syria toward the present day town of Halab (ancient Aleppo).  The verse expresses drama in that you can hear the approaching armies successively subduing each city in its inexorable march toward  the king's tabernacles of his palace .
The first city listed as conquered is
(1) Carchemish, slightly north and eastward of Halab, Syria.
The second city conquered is
(2) Calno (Calneh) which appears to be on the Turkey-Syrian border adjacent to the Mediterranean. The third conquered city is
(3)Arpad which begins the southern route of the invading king down the Orontes River
toward the city
(4) Hamath (modern day Hamah in eastern Syria just north of Lebanon).
Next comes the city
(5) Damascus (present capitol of Syria). Finally, the king of the north arrives in
(6) Samaria which is known today as the "west bank", The future location of the antichrist's headquarters in Dan 11:45 - and he plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain . As it says above, Samaria is the northern mountainous section of the "west bank" .

The verses quoted apparently have two contexts, one ancient and one future. The use of the singular "Assyrian " and the " him " in conjuction with the the use of the phrase "their ", a plural reference to the army in " their hand ", indicates the dual nature of the verses, ancient and future. It is specifically stated that when the Lord has performed his whole work upon mount Zion and upon Jerusalem (which must be at the END of the tribulation), I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks . The king of Assyria asks, are not my princes altogether kings? " Then he lists these " princes " who are in reality " princes " of the modern day Syrian cities. This makes the recent "alliance" of Iraq and Syria a significant development because it paves the route for the antichrist to duplicate the route of his ancient Assyrian counterpart toward the HOTTEST SPOT ON THE PLANET and the MOST CONTROVERSIAL SITE, the WEST BANK, ancient "Samaria." However, this is not the only significance of the Syria-Iraq alliance.

If you looked carefully (above) you saw six countries (plus Egypt) making a "security" alliance with Iraq. It is a security alliance with ten kings that fulfills Daniel 9:27, . If you assume that the theory of an Iraq divided into 3 parts becomes a reality, then 6 plus Egypt, plus the 3 parts of Iraq, equals ten. An interesting number, 10, don't you think? This allows for the possibility of the emergence of the "ten horns" or ten kings of the book of Revelation.

07-27-2004
In Daniel 11:44 we read But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. This occurs AFTER the antichrist has gone south to defeat Egypt in 11:42-43. We have discussed how the Kurds are in fact representative of one-third of Iraq. Could Kurdistan also be the troubling tidings out of the north due to an Israeli sponsored uprising? Traditional Kurdistan has been marked on the map. The Kurds are going to have some effect in the coming timeframe, especially considering the large size of the territory they influence. This traditional Kurdistan is per Hammond Atlas.

We find that the Hashemite Kingdom thinks highly of itself

Hashemite Dynasty Shows the Flag at Gulf of Aqaba
Shortly before the October 7 Sinai bombings at Taba and Nueiba, inhabitants of the Israeli Red Sea resort of Eilat noticed some strange goings-on across the bay in the Jordanian port city of Aqaba. Cement trucks were seen dumping their loads along a section of coastline where the Jordanian royal villa nestles among giant palm trees. Other trucks unloaded huge pipes, which giant cranes hoisted into position. Could it be a new Jordanian watchtower to keep an eye on the Gulf of Aqaba? Or perhaps Jordan was building a new military or communications installation?

The answer to the riddle was not long coming. One morning, they awoke to the sight of an enormous flag flying from a 136 meter- (446 foot) high pole. The flag, measuring 80 meters (262 feet) by 44 meters (144 feet), was almost the size of an American football field, a towering presence even against the backdrop of the 1,200 meter (3,900 feet) -high mountains behind Aqaba.

Dimensions aside, there was something odd about the pennant. It looked almost but not quite like the Jordanian national flag; it lacked the trademark star and its colors were in the wrong order. Instead of being arranged in a black, white and red pattern, the flag was black at the top, green in the middle and white at the bottom

After some research, DEBKAfile’s sources were able to identify it as the royal flag – not of Jordan but of the Hashemite dynasty that reigns in Amman today but originated somewhere else. Thereby hangs the tale of the huge flag.

The new-old Hashemite flag hoisted so dramatically over Aqaba therefore carries a threefold statement, according to DEBKAfile’s Middle Eastern sources - one that will register most immediately with Jordan’s close neighbor on the Gulf of Aqaba coast, Saudi Arabia.

A. It is a symbolic restatement that the Hashemite claim to the Gulf and Hijaz lands on its eastern coast remains in force.

B. Aqaba and Kuwait are the two key transit ports for merchandise bound for Iraq. The flag may be interpreted as a message that the Hashemite branch which once ruled Baghdad has not relinquished its claim there either.

C. This message is as much religious as geopolitical and is addressed to al Qaeda and its Wahhabist mentors in Saudi Arabia, Sinai, Jordan, Iraq and Syria: the true and historic messengers of the Prophet Mohammed and his teachings are not al Qaeda but the Hashemites by virtue of shared ancestry and long rule in the holy places.

The giant flag bears testimony to the huge importance of symbols in the Middle East, something Israel, which long ago cancelled its annual military parade and flies only small Star of David flags outside government institutions, overlooks

An incentive, a problem to solve, creates the need to create a "central Islamic state" (Clash of Civilizations, Huntington, page 177, 264). Such a problem now exists. The solution to this problem will lead to the rise of the enforcer ("confirmer") of the security agreement, "covenant."   We can not leave Iraq without chaos and we can not stay in Iraq without more war (and chaos). The die is now cast.  In reading the following link we see that the problem is further compounded.

An Islamic Republic of Iraq?

Is Iraq moving, inch by inch, towards becoming an Islamic republic? it is a prospect that is as unsettling for many Iraqis as it is for George Bush in the White House.

Under Saddam Hussein, Iraq was a centralised and largely secular state.

Now, if the Shia religious parties get their way, it will be a decentralised state with a pronounced Islamic identity.

The draft of the new constitution describes Islam as "a main source" of legislation and stipulates that no law may contradict Islamic principles.

It also says a group of provinces is entitled to form a "region", which can then expect a specified share of the national budget.

Federalism

All this amounts to a radical change, and inevitably it is arousing strong passions.

The two groups who dominate the new Iraq - the Kurds and the Shia religious parties - have an obvious interest in breaking with the past.

The Kurds want to cement, and if possible extend, the autonomy they have enjoyed in the north for over a decade.

The Shia religious parties want to reverse the secularising policies of Saddam, and they want the mainly Shia south to get a bigger slice of the area's oil wealth.

Some Shia are even calling for a "super-region" stretching from Baghdad to the border with Kuwait and embracing the country's biggest oilfields.

This kind of federalism - with an autonomous Kurdistan in the north and a big oil-rich Shia "region" in the south - leaves the minority Sunni Arabs appalled.

They fear being left with a rump mini-state bereft of oil. They also fear the eventual break-up of the country [Does this situation sound like the Bible's prophecy?]

At the same time, secular-minded Iraqis - whether Sunni, Shia or Kurd - are deeply concerned about the direction the country is taking.

In many ways, Iraq is already dramatically different from the place it was just a few years ago.

Mixed marriages between Sunni and Shia, once taken for granted, are becoming problematic.

In many parts of the country, women dare not walk bare-headed in the street.

And reports from parts of the lawless north-west paint a grim picture of Taleban-style rule by radical Sunni militants.

Worried neighbours

Iraq's Sunni neighbours find all of this troubling.

There is no tradition in the Arab world of a successful decentralised state.

The fear is that a weak multi-ethnic, multi-confessional state will go the way of Lebanon in the 1970s and 1980s - and descend into civil war.

Sunni rulers in Riyadh, Amman, Cairo and elsewhere believe the one country to benefit from the disintegration of Iraq is Shia Iran.

George Bush, meanwhile, is faced with some unpalatable choices.

He is determined to stick to a tight political timetable which would enable him to start withdrawing US troops from Iraq next year.

But will his rush to come up with an "exit strategy" force him to abandon the aspiration to create a modern secular democracy out of the ashes of the Saddam dictatorship?

Iraq draft constitution,   see the first paragraph

We the sons of Mesopotamia, land of the prophets, resting place of the holy imams, the leaders of civilization and the creators of the alphabet, the cradle of arithmetic: on our land, the first law put in place by mankind was written; in our nation, the most noble era of justice in the politics of nations was laid down; on our soil, the followers of the prophet and the saints prayed, the philosophers and the scientists theorised and the writers and poets created.

Article (2) Islam is the official religion of the state and is a basic source of legislation...

Zech 5:11 says - And he said unto me, to build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established and set there upon her own base.

Could this be a reference to MODERN Iraq?  Many scholars maintain that the physical Babylon will be rebuilt in the land of Shinar. Regardless of the truth of the physical Babylon City (which is debatable), there can be no doubt that the land of Shinar has made it back to center stage in the end times.

Sunnis defiant as talks on 'new Iraq' collapse
By Oliver Poole in Baghdad

Tortuous negotiations to decide the constitution of the new Iraq collapsed early today with the government admitting that they had reached "the end of the road".

Saleh al-Mutlaq, a leading Sunni negotiator, said no agreement was reached on the draft text and called on Iraqis to reject it in a referendum in October.

His bloc rejected a compromise offered by the majority Shia and Kurds on the key issue of federalism, which Sunnis fear will rob them of influence and wealth derived from oil.

While a minority voice, the Sunnis can kill the constitution. Under the terms of the referendum, it will have to be torn up if, as anticipated, two thirds of voters in three of Iraq's 18 provinces vote No.

"The Iraqi people have to give their word now and reject the constitution because this constitution is the beginning of the division of the country and the beginning of creating disturbance in the country," Mr Mutlaq said.

Khaled al-Attiyah, a Shia negotiator, claimed a "consensus" had been reached and an amended version would be sent to parliament today. Asked about that, Mr Mutlaq said: "Let them."

Laith Kubba, a government spokesman, said: "This is the end of the road. In the end, we will put this constitution to the people to decide."

President George W Bush made his first direct intervention yesterday after delegates failed to meet in parliament to vote on the document as promised when the previous deadline was missed on Thursday night. He telephoned the head of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, the Shia party that dominated January's elections, to encourage compromise with the Sunni Arab demands.

A minor concession was offered - with the relationship between central government and the regions to be determined after national elections in December. It was not enough.

As politicians wrestled with the subtleties of the draft text, callers to the city's talk radio shows focused on the daily challenges of life in Baghdad: the violence, the dirty petrol that is wrecking car engines and the power shortages that have blighted the capital for more than two years.

Shiites to submit draft constitution to parliament despite Sunni objections

BAGHDAD (AP) - Iraq's Shiite and Kurdish leaders decided Friday to send an amended constitution to parliament this weekend, even though Sunni Arab negotiators said they rejected the latest document. Bypassing Sunnis would be a blow to U.S. efforts to lure them away from the insurgency.

Unless reversed, the decision, announced by several Shiite officials after daylong negotiations, would set the stage for a bitter fight across the country. Shiites and Kurds will encourage their people to vote for the charter in the Oct. 15 referendum with Sunnis lobbying just as strongly against it.

Senior Iran cleric hails “Islamic state of Iraq”    Fri. 26 Aug 2005

Tehran, Iran, Aug. 26 – A senior Iranian cleric welcomed on Friday the establishment of an Islamic republic in Iraq and hailed the country’s new constitution as one based on “Islamic precepts”.

Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, who heads the powerful ultra-conservative Guardian Council, told worshippers in Tehran’s Friday prayers, “Fortunately, after years of effort and expectations in Iraq, an Islamic state has come to power and the constitution has been established on the basis of Islamic precepts”.

“We must congratulate the Iraqi people and authorities for this victory”, he said.

Jannati, who is a top confidant of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that all justice-seeking counties of the world “have no model other than the Islamic revolution in Iran to turn to”.

“Lebanese Hezbollah and the state of Iraq are not the only supporters of the Islamic revolution”, he said.

Referring to the West as Global Arrogance, the hard-line cleric said, “No matter how many stones they throw in our path, they cannot prevent the spread of the Islamic revolution in the world”.

from the website we read more details (see also 06-10-2004) about the proposed US embassy in Iraq.  You can see pictures of the construction site.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12319798/

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The fortress-like compound rising beside the Tigris River here will be the largest of its kind in the world, the size of Vatican City, with the population of a small town, its own defense force, self-contained power and water, and a precarious perch at the heart of Iraq’s turbulent future.

The new U.S. Embassy also seems as cloaked in secrecy as the ministate in Rome...The embassy complex — 21 buildings on 104 acres, according to a U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee report — is taking shape on riverside parkland in the fortified “Green Zone,” just east of al-Samoud, a former palace of Saddam Hussein’s, and across the road from the building where the ex-dictator is now on trial.

“We can’t talk about it. Security reasons,” Roberta Rossi, a spokeswoman at the current embassy, said when asked for information about the project... “Embassy Baghdad” will dwarf new U.S. embassies elsewhere, projects that typically cover 10 acres. The embassy’s 104 acres is six times larger than the United Nations compound in New York, and two-thirds the acreage of Washington’s National Mall.

Abandoning Judea and Samaria Would Bring Joy to Hamas

Israel’s relatively moderate Islamic neighbor Jordan has its own problems. Hapless war embroiled Iraqi citizens currently attempt to get out of harm’s way by crossing their border into the Hashemite kingdom. The last thing King Abdullah seemingly needs is more migrating Arab flocks from the disputed territories of Judea and Samaria, yet herein does lie the answer to Israel’s own dilemma. If so-called Palestinians were persuaded to relocate into their true homeland of Jordan, Hamas would grudgingly follow with tail between its legs. Jordanian leaders, wary of extremists that could certainly threaten their own power base, would profit from Hamas’ loss of prestige, but of course would not want such Arabs squatting within their own sovereign nation. However, if a small portion of Jordan, about the size of Judea and Samaria, would be partitioned as the new Palestinian state, King Abdullah would bear no responsibility nor in fact would have to deal with the newly arrived immigrants, who now would have a home of their own.

Like most things on this site, this is just my opinion.  However, it is my firm belief that there is no longer any such thing as "Iraq."
The streets of Baghdad are predominantly empty.  The educated and those with money have for the most part left the country.  The infrastructure is a mess.  US military commanders are exasperated over the inability of the local militia. Sectarian violence continues and increases.  The continuance of the sectarian violence provides the justification for the eventual need to "redo" Iraq.  This process of fixing Iraq will be part of the fulfillment of the Book of Revelation and the Book of Daniel, especially if the country is divided into 3 parts as is currently being proposed by some US Senators.  Since US policy has sought a "central moderate Islamic state" and since US policy has promoted the Jordanian monarchy, the day could come soon that the fix be made.  That fix was recorded in 600 BC in the Book of Daniel.  The Lord knows the end from the beginning.  He is the only God and savior.

My only question about the fix is - who knew about it before we "liberated" Iraq?  To me, there is no excuse for failing to anticipate what is happening in Iraq.  So, if it was anticipated, there are other questions that could be asked.  This policy may lead to Bible prophecy fulfillment, but it is perhaps the craziest thing the US ever did.

We have stated above that the real objective of US policy in the Middle East is to Redraw the Map. It has nothing to do with 9-11.  This policy was made long before 9-11. The policy of redrawing the map will ultimately lead to the empire of Revelation13 and the war campaign (not battle) of Armageddon.  The backdrop for this war campaign is the Sunni-Shiite conflagration which appears to be the method by which the chaos is unleashed upon the political regimes in the middle east, thus making way for the redrawn map (all a deliberate strategy in my opinion).

A friend at work said yesterday that his father used to say, "when the cats fight, the monkey wins."  In this case, the cats are the Sunnis and the Shiites and the monkey is the United States (or its surrogate ruler, the Jordanian prince).  Let me say that the Biblical events describe the process that takes place while men attempt to pursue their goal.

Apparently, there are those on the internet who share some of this belief about the real nature of “invisible” US policy makers.  Strangely enough there is a Muslim professor (Dr Megalommatis) who has put forth his ideas that nearly match exactly the ideas put forth on this website.  Even stranger is the notion that the professor comes to his conclusions based upon his years of study of the people and politics and history of the Middle-east.   The similarities of his conclusions to those of this website are remarkable, especially considering that the reasons for our forming conclusions originate from totally different viewpoints.

What I find truly remarkable is that the professor’s outline of prerequisite “probable” events which would enable an “empire” lead by the Jordanian prince exactly match “prophetic” events outlined on this site.  Before we discuss the particulars, let me say that in no way am I endorsing the writings of the professor.  I know nothing about him and I am not suggesting we follow him or his writings. (Do your own research.)  What I am saying is that a totally different source is confirming (for completely different reasons) a scenario that parallels the one on this website.  http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=21826 Go and read the entire article for yourself.

The article is amazingly entitled-

America's most Vicious Enemy in the Middle East: a figure of Anti-Christ?

Few people allover the world can imagine how close to disaster the US has come. Even fewer can grasp the colossal differences between President Bush and the political pariah of Dick Cheney. Very few know who imposed this useless Vice-president on G. W. Bush. Unfortunately, only some observers in the Middle East have an insightful understanding of the plans made and promoted by a secret association of Muslim 'moderates' who are hidden behind the acts of both Dick Cheney and Ossama bin Laden. These plans are about to generate a breakthrough in the world to the detriment of all!…  [the reader had better be born again]

Materializing the Satanic Anti-American Plan 1999 - 2012

Starting precisely in 1999, they prepared the September 11 events as if the American people and victims were their worst enemy; and yet they were Americans working with the Middle Eastern cell that had been established by their forerunners in the shadow of President Roosevelt's presence in the Red Sea. Afghanistan was prepared for their plans by Ossama bin Laden and his Taliban. Actually, there has always been continuity before and after 2001 in the ruling of the mountainous country. And Karzai was never allowed to truly control the country; they only wanted an anti-Iranian, anti-Russian and anti-British group at Kabul.

The September 11th events have not been triggered in order to change things in Afghanistan but to offer an excuse for causing chaos in Iraq.  If the US military were allowed and a correct pacification plan was chosen, the Sunni murderers and terrorists – the apostate children of Saddam Hussein – would be punished, deprived of their properties, and gathered in camps. For an average person, it is difficult to understand why the Nazi regime was dismantled in the way we all know, and the criminal Sunni thugs and suicide bombers of Iraq have long been tolerated so shamelessly.

And why all political options of Simon Peres are one after the other cancelled, and chaos prevails in Palestine? Probably the Iraqi criminals and the Palestinian rebels will soon join forces.

Why the US did its best to convince the Turkish military to accept Erdogan as prime minister in precisely 2003? Bought up by Gulf capital, already controlled by that secret group, Erdogan helps discrediting the only country in the world that could – alone – impose order, democracy and progress in the Iraqi chaos, tear down the Syrian dictatorship, and avert the Iranian threat.

If all these critical points get worsened day by day, it is because the dangerous and apostate Free Masonic group [author's note- see this] launches the latest stages of the paranoid plan to impose their 'man' (if that "thing" is a human being! ?) as ultimate peacemaker and ruler of the Middle East.  [Dr Megalommatis, a moderate Muslim, does not like the Jordanian obviously.]

2007: the critical appointment with History

Iran hit by the US and plunged into a civil war, Turkey submerged in internal strife between the generals and Erdogan's rising Islamists, and Iraq impossible to mend, with the Americans planning to leave.

Following a 'small' war between Israel and Syria (why America prevents Simon Peres from visiting Damascus?), all will be in place to help rise the tyrant who got married with a former Palestinian ... This guy, insiders say, was the result of devious ..., and only later presented to his father, the king, as his own son, and potential 'heir apparent'. The most poisonous words and the most imminent life threats obliged his uncle to cede his rights to succession, before the king died.  [Not something I would say even if I thought it true.  I have no idea.  The Dr. is out of line in my opinion. But, no one can say that Dr. Megalommatis is not passionate.  You can read the whole article to see everything he said. I don't believe in personal attacks. This is not about personality. My appearance in a court would result in a guilty.]

Events of Islamic Revolution will be machinated in Saudi Arabia, and attributed to the oppressed Shia minority of the barbaric Shia realm. Then, the domino collapse will be quasi-automatic:

Having long waited in the wings, Abdullah of Jordan would go through following steps:

1. Absorb Saudi Arabia

2. Benefit from an American collapse in Iraq

3. Present himself as the warrantor of Sunni supremacy in Syria and Lebanon

4. Benefit from a split of Turkey into Turkey and Kurdistan

5. Merge with (or invade) Iran

6. Benefit from the side effect of one the previous successes, probably 2 and/or 5, such as support from Pakistan, Indonesia, Nigeria and Egypt, with millions of people already trained in medressas allover the world to become fighting soldiers of Islam.

7. Attack Israel, and destroy it following an unprecedented bloodshed that would certainly weaken his Satanic kingdom.

To be precise - the numbered section is the part that has a fascination for me.  The links embedded in the 7 points are the comparable portions of this website.

1. Absorb Saudi Arabia

2. Benefit from an American collapse in Iraq  (read the newspapers)

3. Present himself as the warrantor of Sunni supremacy in Syria and Lebanon  Points 1, 2, and 3 relate to the Three Horns.

4. Benefit from a split of Turkey into Turkey and Kurdistan

5. Merge with (or invade) Iran  (or God destroys)

(read Daniel Chapter 11 from verse 36  to the end.)

Remarkable.  Dr Megalommatis is not a dispensationalist Protestant, but, a man who has an entirely different world view and is passionate about it.  I pray he turns to Jesus Christ.

Dr Megalommatis concludes-

Abdullah of Jordan: in secrecy believed to be Islam's 'forthcoming' Mahdi

All this to happen is very, very easy. Taking into consideration that many Americans even around President Bush idiotically think that the US has no chances of victory in Iraq, one can assume that an American self-made (for 95% of the case) disaster in Iraq could occur in end 2007 – beginning 2008.

Then, all this bogus-king of Abdullah would have to produce is no 1 of the plan....

After that, he would rise to an opposition to America, rapidly registering phases 3, 5, 6 and Plus 1 and 2 of his long established agenda. Europe, America and Russia would need an army of 20 million well trained soldiers to invade that abominable hell of Satan that under Abdullah's auspices and in the name of Islam would promote the utmost barbarism. In addition, these soldiers should ready to utterly kill at least 200 m people. They would not be apt to it, and Abdullah's evil state would rise to attack Israel. It would of course be very late for Olmert, Netanuahu, Tzipi Livni, and Abdulla's watchdog Avigdor Lieberman to regret.

These are astonishing words in the light of Biblical prophecy.

Here is a further description by Dr Megalommatis (a moderate Muslim), whom we quoted in the 03-09-2007 update,  that shows that the cynical plan (which he calls Freemasonic (not Shriners at Lodge 505), but, it includes the same London-based plan described by Larouche) includes branding Iran, Russia, and Turkey as "evil."  This will enable the world to believe that the 'evil' is the antichrist.  After the "antichrist" (actually Gog and Magog) is defeated, the "fabricated pacifier" can begin the millennium,,, oops, the tribulation.

http://www.worldsentinel.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=46825

Today, Turkey is constrained to realize that there are two European countries, which are totally controlled by an Apostate Freemasonic Lodge that is determined to destroy Turkey in the same way it destroyed the Ottoman Caliphate. As the Sultans were brought to knees through successive dismemberment that was fallaciously announced as bringing forth a non-existent nation, the ‘Arabs’, so the Turkish Secular establishment is targeted through evocation of a biased, non existent nation, the ‘Kurds’. This time, this Freemasonic fabrication will be the last, as following a re-arrangement of the present Middle Eastern map, a fabricated pacifier will be greatly promoted by the Anti-Turkish establishment as the new ruler of the Middle East.

However, he will not be either a real Crusader or an authentic Templar. His will be a vicious interpretation of Biblical texts, and he will identify Turkey, Russia and Iran as the evil. But the only evil involved will be the transfer of evil power from the Apostate Freemasonic Lodge to her portentous son.

The quoted portion is at the very end of the article which describes the "plan" to subvert the Middle East.

Jordan launches war on ISIS in Iraq, Turkish warplanes hit ISIS in Syria. US, Israel involved in both ops

The Middle East woke up Friday, July 24, to two new full-fledged wars launched by Jordan and Turkey for cutting down the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant as is forces advanced on their borders. The United States and Israel are involved in both campaigns. Jordanian armored, commando and air forces are already operating deep inside Iraq, while Friday morning, Turkey conducted its first cross-border air strike against ISIS targets in Syria. Clashes between Turkish troops and Islamic fighters erupted at several points along the border. Both governments also conducted mass arrests of suspected Islamists. The Jordanian police picked up ISIS adherents, while 5,000 Turkish police detained 250 Islamist and outlawed Kurdish PKK suspects in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Saniurta. Jordan Friday shut down its only border crossing with Iraq...Our military sources report that US-Israeli-Jordanian cooperation is channeled through the US Central Command Forward-Jordan from its headquarters north of Amman. It is staffed by US, British, Jordanian, Saudi and Israeli officers working together to defeat ISIS.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Central_Command

Temporary task forces include the Central Command Forward - Jordan (CF-J), which was announced in April 2013. CF-J's stated purpose was to work with the Jordanian armed forces to improve the latter's capabilities. There was speculation, however, that another reason for its establishment was to serve as a base from which raids into Syria could be launched to seize Syrian WMD if necessary, and as a launch pad for looming American military action in Syria.

Just remember that the War On Terror is an excuse for doing what we planned.   We planned it BEFORE ISIS existed, before 9-11 existed.  Search this site for PNAC.   See especially 1996.
