This information is offered with the hope that YOU can come to KNOW the Lord personally.

Wait on the Lord.  This idea consists of three things:
                   1. We are to WAIT
                   2. He is LORD
                   3. He forms, builds, causes, works, does, teaches, leads.

Psalms 25:3   Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

(Those who do not wait are transgressing without cause.  We run out of patience, and therefore lose trust in Him.  Anything that is not of faith is sin.)

Psalms 25:5   Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

(Our waiting starts when we arise and ends when we go to sleep.  We are waiting to be lead and taught.  Instruction means correction.  When we encounter attributes in others that we do not like, it is to show us what we are like.  Not waiting results in not seeing.)

Psalms 25:21   Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

(Integrity is a "united heart," a heart with one Lord.)

Psalms 27:14   Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

(Wherever we are in the process of our salvation, waiting is our task.  He will not fail to teach us.)

Psalms 37:7   Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

If ones we know seem to prosper in their own way, do not be concerned.  The end of each matter takes time.  The fool is "prosperous."  Prosperity does not refer merely to money, but to "happiness," an elusive thing which is lost when sought.  We do not "try Jesus" to be happy.  Jesus is our Lord, not our hobby.  He changes us radically.  Radical change does not make one "happy."  Radical change causes you to reject YOUR OWN WAY.

We must cease performing and start RESTING.  Resting and waiting go together.  If we are not resting, we can not wait.  The Lord provided a remedy for the sins of man BEFORE he created man.  This should make us to rest in Him.  He provides before the need exists.

Psalms 37:9   For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
Psalms 37:34   Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
Psalms 52:9   I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

Psalms 62:5   My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Psalms 69:3   I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
Psalms 104:27   These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
Psalms 106:13   They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:
Psalms 130:5   I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Psalms 130:6   My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
Proverbs 20:22   Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
Isaiah 8:17   And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
Isaiah 25:9   And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Isaiah 26:8   Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.
Isaiah 30:18   And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Isaiah 33:2   O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
Isaiah 40:31   But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 59:9   Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
Isaiah 64:4   For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Jeremiah 14:22   Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God?  therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
Lamentations 3:25   The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
Lamentations 3:26   It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
Hosea 12:6   Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
Micah 7:7   Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
Zephaniah 3:8   Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
Zechariah 11:11   And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.
Romans 8:25   But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Romans 12:7   Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
2 Thessalonians 3:5   And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
Psalms 46:10   Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Those that are busy never truly KNOW God.

By the way, the LORD picked this very chapter to say BE STILL and KNOW that HE is GOD.

In the King James Bible, the 46th word from the top of chapter 46 is shake and the 46th word from the bottom of the 46th chapter is spear .    Now in 1611, Shakespeare was 46 years old.

He truly IS God and therefore we ought to wait on Him.

02-15-2016  Today, dear friend, HEAR the voice of the LORD.  You need to EARN NOTHING, He did it ALL.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 10:27-28

For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Psalms 95:7-8

Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Hebrews 3:7

If you are in darkness, do not despair, but say nothing, and listen and wait to hear His voice.

And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

Dear friend, God has chosen YOU.   Hear His voice!!

How does one WAIT on the Lord?

The ANSWER is LISTEN for His voice.
What causes one to WAIT?
Here is the answer: You are not going to wait until the Lord God does this TO you.

Why is this necessary?
Answer: Everything in a man naturally tends to believe that he is the CENTER of doing good.
To give up this idea that it is YOU who does good, you must be BROKEN.
It is NOT sin in you that is BROKEN, it is EVERYTHING that is BROKEN.
Self initiated "good" work is NOT good.  This work is rebellion!

I am here to tell you dear friend that Joel Osteen is a liar.

Recently, I was told that I am being judgmental about Joel.
To clarify, Joel is misrepresenting what the Bible says.
Dealing with the LORD and His Word is a FEARFUL thing.
God's only begotten Son the LORD Jesus Christ suffered a humiliating torture and horrible death to pay for our sins.
Therefore, these sins (and our sin nature and the consequences of eternal damnation) are not to be taken lightly.
During the Great Awakening, the believers were mightily convicted of the depraved sin nature that THEY had.

The Great Awakening pulled away from ritual, ceremony, sacramentalism, and hierarchy, and made Christianity intensely personal to the average person by fostering a deep sense of spiritual conviction and redemption, and by encouraging introspection

Does anyone suggest that fostering a deep sense of spiritual conviction is the message of Joel?
Is the teaching of this website fostering a deep sense of spiritual conviction?

God is not about making you feel good; God is about FORCING you to REPENT.
EVERYTHING in you is OPPOSED to God's way.
Even the "good" in you is opposed to God's way.

Would you like to see an example of what happens to an obedient "person?"

What is this "person" doing?   Answer:  Listening to His Master's Voice.

Now, you want a perfect example of the same message in the form of a movie (of all things)?

A man hears a voice telling him to do something absurd.
He hears the voice and listens to the voice.
He does what the voice tells him (even though he must give up his life [ways] to do it).
When things are not working the way he wants (expects things to be), the man gets angry (just like YOU).
But, in the end of the movie, the man is rewarded with communion with his FATHER!!

The movie is Field of Dreams
The man is Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner)
The FATHER is John Kinsella (Dwier Brown)

When I watched Field of Dreams and I saw "Ray" playing baseball with his FATHER, I wept with JOY!!
I knew because
I have played baseball with my Father (Abba).
There is nothing like playing baseball with your Father.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.  Isaiah 30:21
But what happens BEFORE you hear the voice?

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:  Isa 30:20

What are we to make of Isaiah 30:20-21?
Well, it is a "hard saying".
When we are given "bread and water", ADVERSITY and AFFLICTION, by the LORD Himself; it is THEN we begin to "see [our] teachers" (ADVERSITY-AFFLICTION) - that they ARE our teachers.  After we have seen our teachers, we begin to listen and we HEAR a word behind [us]
saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.  Isaiah 30:21
This is true because we are waiting and listening.  This voice is the witness of the spirit of God with our spirit!!
Notice that as we turn to the left or right, the LORD confirms our direction... amazing!

If God does not write Movies, Songs (even secular), I ain't typing this now.
Lord knows, HE made two men invent the Calculus simultaneously
Leibniz and Newton.
So, who invented the Calculus?   We are NOTHING.  Stop following men and institutions and scholars.

He walks with me, and He talks with me, He even knows my name (John 15:15)!!

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Jesus, my friend, when you give me the crowns YOU have earned, I will run and jump on you and hug your neck and wrap my legs around your waist!

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on roses
And the voice I hear falling
On my ear the son of God discloses
And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known
He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing
And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known
-Merle Haggard

Even Paul Simon wrote (God gave it to Paul) a song for me once (at least one part) and he did not have a clue that he did it.

I am riding down the highway with my then nine year old son.
His mother is my first wife.
I was with my second wife
Graceland CD is playin (er uh, blasting) from the speakers.

Then, I heard these lyrics:
My traveling companion is nine years old
The child of my first marriage

[BOOM!  Lord I know you are going to save my son ]

because the next line in the song is this:

But i've a reason to believe
We both will be received
in Graceland

A few years later Paul Simon was being interviewed on TV about the song Graceland.
My son and I were watching.
What is Graceland about, Paul?
Paul's Answer: I do not know.

When I first heard these lyrics, I knew it was about lost love.

Later Paul said

It is about a trip there with a father and his 9-year-old son trying to find some kind of solace from a loss of love.

Friend, THAT is a perfect description of my son and I.  We both had lost love.
Both of Paul's descriptions are true:
I do not know.  (because God Himself wrote that song BEFORE we divorced and while I was dying)
And a Father and a son seeking solace from a loss of love.

The lost love is regained by Jesus.  The loss of love was used to break me.
I know for a fact that my son will be SAVED by the Almighty, even though he is married to a man.
I know this because the LORD told me:
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  -Proverbs 22:6

I also know it because my son wrote in his little 5 year handwriting in my 1988 prayer book:

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. - Psalms 119:11
I know because He saved me and I have done and do worse.  As I said here and elsewhere:  I am NOTHING.

God knows, I weep for my children.   I weep for YOU.

Lord God Almighty, give your children ALL you have given me!!  You, LORD, are MORE than a man can love.
You know, LORD, I LOVE you soooooooooo much because YOU put yourself IN me and you FILLED me with joys and tears at the same moment.

Does all this seem too hard?  Too painful?  Are there too many tears?

You see, there is a FINE LINE between WEEPING and REJOICING.  This truth is illustrated in the book of Ezra when the "ancient men " who had SEEN the "first house" (temple) were SEEING " the foundation of THIS house [being] laid BEFORE THEIR EYES ."  What was their response?  Answer - open weeping and rejoicing which was so intermingled the people could not tell them apart.

But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, WEPT with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for JOY:  So that the people could NOT DISCERN the noise of the shout of JOY from the noise of the WEEPING of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout,  and the noise was heard afar off.     -- Ezra 3:13

The SPIRITUAL REALITY of this physical "house " in the Old Testament and the men's WEEPING and REJOICING is an awesome truth.  When we REALIZE that WE ARE GOD's HOUSE , " the foundation of THIS HOUSE [is] laid before [our] eyes ," we come to grips with the overpowering truth that God Himself is working IN US.  This realization will come at a time when weeping AND joy are one and the same because the God of the Universe has "written His law in the fleshly tables of [our] heart . "  Our very circumstances are His creation.

My friend, Patrick, said "I was laughing and crying at the same time,"  when he read this.
So, I added this section here at the end for him.  It is copied from this page.
My beautiful downstairs hardwood flooring was put down by Patrick and his brother.

Heaven is going to be FULL of "nobodys."
People that the world deems unworthy, untidy, unkempt, dirty, or hungry.
These people for whom the world cares nothing.
The "church" will not let them in the door.

I told the above to a friend a few days ago.
The NEXT day, the following happened:

I went to Jason's Deli and ordered a tuna sandwich.
After eating half the sandwich, I was brought a second sandwich.
I said, "I did not order 2 sandwiches."
The guy said, "You were number 52, right?"
I replied, "Yes, 52."
He said, "well, you got 2 sandwiches!"
"Can you put this 2nd sandwich in a box, I asked?"
He came back with the sandwich in a box and set it on my table (as I continued eating the 1st sandwich).

As soon as he set the 2nd sandwich down, a worker came and started cleaning the table next to me.
That table was within 2 feet of me.

I asked the worker, "do you want this sandwich?"
To which the worker replied, "how did you know I was hungry?"

My answer? "I did not know, but, God did know!"

The worker thanked me and said, "if I don't see you soon, God bless you!"
He came back and hugged me.  Oh what a blessing for ME !!

THAT, dear friend, is waiting and watching to see what the LORD will do.

I did NOTHING.  I am just watching Him work and He is beautiful !!

The beauty of this is HE let me SEE it.

Yesterday, I went to two "churches."
1) The Church of the Whole Foods Grill
2) The 2nd Church of the QuickTrip Gas Station

The Church of the Whole Foods Grill
I was at the Whole Foods grill eating my grilled chicken and salad when a lady sat down.
After a while, she and I began to converse.  After exchanging pleasantries, other topics became important, e.g.,  "coincidences" that God had personally arranged for me to witness.   These "coincidences" we discussed in the context of how radically God deals with His children, one of which is yours truly. As it turns out, the conversation with Erin at the Church of the Whole Foods Grill was also one of those "coincidences."

Erin shared with me how she moved to Greenville and broke up with her boyfriend in the process and was in a state of loneliness as she wondered if she had made a mistake to move to a new city.  So, she asked the LORD to show her some light as she opened her Bible.  Here is what He showed her as she turned to a random page in her Bible.

And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. Jeremiah 29:7

As we shared these experiences of coincidences from God, we had CHILLS.

The 2nd Church of the QuickTrip Gas Station
After eating I went to my West Coast Swing class at the Phoenix Inn.
At about 8:50 something told me to leave.   I gathered my things and started driving on Pleasantburg and turned into the QuickTrip there because I needed gas.  However, I butt-dialed my friend Jessica and we got into a conversation and I left the QT on Pleasantburg (without getting gas) and started onto 385 south.  I then saw a sign that said QuickTrip on Roper Mountain Rd.  So, I took the exit and parked at the gas pump of The 2nd Church of the QuickTrip Gas Station.

As is my normal habit, while I was filling up, I had my windows down and was loudly playing this CD (this becomes significant later).  A black man walks up to me and asks if I could help him with money.  Turns out his name is Clarence.  Let the CD play while you read this if you can.   There is a 2nd CD below and we were playing it while in the car.

RB:           Where you been, dude?
Clarence: Walkin
RB:          Where from?
Clarence: The bus station.
RB:          Where you been?
Clarence: Charleston
(He shows me his ticket, driver's license)
RB:          Whats been happenin wich u?
Clarence: Got into a problem.
Got charged with burglary one and copped a plea (and didn't do it) to avoid serving time.
RB:          (I tell Clarence how I got to the 2nd Church of the QuickTrip Gas Station)
"Clarence, if any one thing tonight had been different, I would not be here for you."
Clarence: I could tell you were alright cause your music was SMOOTH
RB:         Where ya goin?
Clarence: Walkin to Miracle Hill Mission on West Washington
RB:          God sent me here to give you a ride cuz that is a long walk.  (i hand him my Jesus-is-the-way card)
(now driving) Clarence, you are in for a treat cuz you get to listen to Al Green in the car.
                (start playin this CD)

Friends, you can flat out Shag or West Coast Swing to that Al Green CD.

God's children are the temple of God.

By the way, while we were riding, Clarence said
"a man with a Bible in his hand approached me earlier!'

So I dialed up this song for him in the car.     Please note the lyrics about the man with the Bible
