From many sources during and prior to the week of April 28, 2002 it was reported that the United States, conducting its “War Against Terrorism” had planned a land invasion of Iraq for the purpose of overthrowing Saddam Hussein.
From Time Magazine’s website http://www.time.com of May 5, 2002 we read of Saddam Hussein and the White House’s view of Saddam. Emphasis added.
The White House has concluded that Saddam poses a clear and present danger that must be eliminated. " He is a dangerous man possessing the world's most dangerous weapons, " President Bush has said. " It is incumbent upon freedom-loving nations to hold him accountable, which is precisely what the United States of America will do."
Beyond Bush's advisers, objective monitors too are convinced that Saddam possesses hidden chemical and biological weapons and is working feverishly to build a still elusive nuclear bomb. He's a serial aggressor. Sept. 11 probably opened Saddam's eyes to powerful and unorthodox methods of attack. Terrorists want weapons of mass destruction, and he has them. "The lesson of 9/11 for us," says a senior State Department official, "is you can't wait around."
From the following website we find:
"Where else in the world might U.S. military action create a beachhead for democracy? Former CIA director James Woolsey argues that Iraq is just the place."
Under the title "Democracy on the march" we read:
"For too long, Americans have believed that democracy cannot conquer the Middle East. Our only sound strategy is to take the side of the people and destroy Saddam's regime — like we destroyed the Taliban — and bring democracy to Iraq."
Under the title "Siding with the people" we read:
"With or without its involvement in the attack on the United States last September 11, the peace and security of the region — and indeed, of much of the world — requires that this regime be removed from power. Our only sound strategy is to take the side of the people against the predators and — albeit less urgently — the autocrats as well. We should destroy Saddam's regime — the way we destroyed the Taliban — and bring democracy to Iraq ."
End 06-08-2002 Addition
There are a couple of things worth noting here in the light of Bible Prophecy. The real destruction will come AFTER the peace treaty is signed. This means that the attack on Saddam may be lightening fast and nothing compared to future Mideast war campaigns during the tribulation. 02-08-2003
Please read the following words.
1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
Further, on a recent edition of “Hardball” with Chris Mathews, Chris pointedly asked a guest “ Is the United States trying to apprehend the perpetrators of 9-11 or are they trying to fight “terrorism? ” The obvious point that Chris was making was that it is becoming clear that “terrorism” is the enemy.
The implications of such a question are obvious. The real policy of the US and its allies is an ongoing “program” of anti-“terrorism”, not just an attempt to get Osama Bin Laden. When the US policy was first announced it was called “Infinite Justice.” The policy received a name change later to “Enduring Freedom” because the original name sounded “too inflammatory.”
So, assuming that the answer to Chris Mathew’s question is “terrorism ” and assuming that the reported plans to attack Saddam are true, it is not surprising to read in the Bible the following words.
(These words describe the very FIRST EVENT, or a major characteristic , of the 7-year tribulation period.)
Revelation 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering , and to conquer .
This is highly ACCURATE and PRECISE wording indeed and it fits the present situation perfectly. Why would the words “ conquering AND to conquer ” be given? This appears to be redundant. The answer is that “ conquering ” is an immediate act with an immediate goal, such as attacking Iraq or more likely other nations in a post-Saddam Mideast . “ To conquer ” means a larger, more comprehensive goal, a "policy." Could this be “ terrorism ” that is to be conquered?
Before anyone says that this means that the US or its president is the Antichrist or an Antichrist, let it be said that this not necessarily the case. The scenario that the antichrist is someone from the Middle East is a distinct possibility.
On May 2, 2002 President Bush said, “ The Jordanians, Saudis, and the Egyptians must lead the way to produce a lasting peace .” So, even though the US is playing a large role at this time, look for others to take the lead. “Leading” in this scenario chiefly consists of gaining the support of Arab nations and the “Palestinians.”
In light of this statement, consider the following verse.
Isaiah 10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria , and the glory of his high looks .
The timing of this verse is clearly AFTER all the WHOLE WORK of the Lord upon Jerusalem . Hence, this refers to a future King of " Assyria " who will be punished by the Lord because of the King's HIGH LOOKS . This personage could be none other than the Biblical antichrist.
The ancient land of Assyria includes present day Jordan and Syria (as well as Israel and parts of Iran).
Therefore, the real Biblical enforcer of the Peace Agreement (and the War on Terror) will come from the ancient land of Assyria.
There is such a personage today being called upon to lead the War on Terror among Arab nations. Could he be the antichrist ?
In connection with the fight against terrorism and the first act of the antichrist, reread Revelation 6:2. On another page, the seven "seals" of Revelation are discussed. The discussion provides the reasons that the "seals" are representative of the entire period versus distinctive chronological events. Given this, "conquering and to conquer " (the War on Terror ) becomes a major causal event of the Book of Revelation
Revelation 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering , and to conquer .
Interestingly enough, the word conquer is from the Greek word nikao . Another usage of the word nikao in the Book of Revelation is Revelation 13:7. As it turns out, this verse represents the eventual work of the antichrist in persecuting the tribulation era saints. We know that "fundamentalism" of any kind will be the enemy of the world system .
These are quotes from Huntington's Clash of Civilizations , an oft-cited intellectual justification for US mideastern policy:
p 111 "Lutheranism and Calvinism, Shi'ite and Sunni fundamentalism, and even parallels between John Calvin and the Ayatollah Khomeini ... the central Spirit of both the Reformation and the [Islamic] Resurgence is fundamental reform.."
p 117 "For years to come Muslim populations will be disproportionately young populations...the Protestant Reformation is an example of one of the outstanding youth movements in history."
Now, let's look at Revelation 13:7. The word overcome is the same word nikao of Revelation 6:2.
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. -- Revelation 13:7
We are certainly headed to a period in which Protestant fundamentalists and Shi'ite and Sunni fundamentalists will be treated in the same manner. When the intellectuals equate John Calvin and the Ayatollah Khomeini, there are soon going to be no choices left in this world system.
Food for thought-
In 1992 I wrote a manuscript (an unpublished study that was used to help me formulate in my own mind what was happening in the political world relative to the Bible's prophecies). Here is a quote from page 44-
The gullibility of the American public is helping ...to gain control over the American people by creating demand...for increased federal control over their lives to stop terrorism (for one thing).
We have already discussed the " conquering and to conquer " as representing the enforcement of the peace agreement (the same as the confirming of Daniel 9:27). Look carefully at the verse again and notice that in regards to the antichrist " a crown was given unto him ." This crown is given IMMEDIATELY prior to his act of " conquering ."
These links were added on 7-06-2002 .
Could this be the " crown "? Could this be the covenant that antichrist " confirm[ s]?" What is the thinking of antichrist ?
In any case, there will be an event that shocks the world immediately preceding the 7-year “tribulation .” This event will radically change the political landscape when many people suddenly vanish. The people that vanish will be the then believers in Jesus Christ as their savior. Some call the event “ The Rapture .”
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
At the time of “ The Rapture ”, leadership worldwide could change dramatically. At the very minimum, there will be (at that instant) NOT ONE BELIEVER in Christ on the face of the earth. The Spirit of God indwells today’s believers and when the believers are removed, the Spirit of God will be removed as well. The Spirit of God is a restraining force against evil in the world. This restraining force will be removed and then-
2 Thessalonians 2:7-11 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
The “ mystery of iniquity ” is already at work. “ Iniquity ” means lawlessness. He that “ letteth ” is the Spirit of God which “restrains” (Letteth) the forces of iniquity, UNTIL he is removed (until he be taken out of the way).
Then That Wicked [shall] be revealed. Who is this “ wicked ” one? The Antichrist - the enforcer of the Peace Agreement. The true identity of the Antichrist will not be revealed until this time.
What will the Antichrist use to enforce the peace treaty?
Daniel 11:38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
“The God of forces” is the military, which may well be the post rapture residual US military occupation of the Mideast in a post-Saddam Islamic world..
This is not something to be FOR or to be AGAINST. It just is true. Our only task is to get right with the Lord now, before it is too late.
From the following website:
We read that Arab states met recently to discuss the War on Terrorism.
1735 GMT - The six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will begin its annual meeting Dec. 21 in Kuwait City. Terrorism and post-war Iraq are to top the agenda . Attending heads of state include Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa and Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, in addition to the host, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah. Crown Prince and de facto ruler Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz will represent Saudi Arabia's ailing King Fahd.
The thing to realize is that Terrorism and post-war Iraq will eventually represent two aspects of Revelation 6:2 (the crown and conquering ).
Additionally, from the following website
AMMAN (Petra) — His Majesty King Abdullah said the latest developments in Iraq should prompt Arab countries to open a new chapter in inter-Arab relations .
King Abdullah told Kuwait's Assiyasa daily that “what happened this year should be a turning point in Arab-Arab relations .”
The King urged countries in the region to move towards democracy, work as partners and share the same responsibilities .
“The entire world has moved towards democracy while we in the Arab world are still standing in the same place,” the King told Assiyasa's chief editor, Ahmad Jarallah, in an interview.
King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's call for accelerating efforts to empower the Iraqis and help them choose their own government.
Describing Jordan's ties with the Gulf states as “perfect,” the Monarch said that “all see eye-to- eye on common issues like Iraq , Palestine and terrorism .” Along these lines read the following Biblical context .
He highlighted efforts by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE to support Jordan and provide it with oil after supplies from Iraq were interrupted by the US-led war.
King Abdullah said Amman supports Riyadh in its fight against terrorism , adding that the security of Saudi Arabia is significant to Jordan.
He urged Gulf leaders, currently meeting in Kuwait, to join ranks in fighting terrorism and help back the region's development plans.

The Problem of Fundamentalism
As I discussed in another essay, Understanding the Religious Reich , Fundamentalism , whether Jewish, Christian, or Islamic (or Marxist, for that matter), has become the primary threat to world peace and even to civilization itself . Let’s put this as clearly as possible: a bunch of religious lunatics murdered over 3,000 people on September 11, 2001. There is absolutely no reason to believe that they won’t do something just as awful again if given the chance.
Here is what I said there, so you don’t have to jump over and back:
Throughout this essay I’m going to be referring to “Fundamentalists,” so perhaps I should clarify the term. Let me start, as I so often do, with a historical review of the term — on this occasion quoting from a standard mainstream Christian reference book, the 1964 edition of A Handbook of Theological Terms , by Van A. Harvey:
“Fundamentalism is a name that was attached to the viewpoint of those who, shortly after the turn of the [19th-20th] century, resisted all liberal attempts to modify orthodox Protestant belief or to question the infallibility of the Bible in any respect . The name is derived from a series of tracts published between 1912-14, entitled The Fundamentals that aimed at defining and defending the essentials of Protestant doctrine. The most important of the fundamental doctrines were (1) the inspiration and infallibility of the Bible, (2) the doctrine of the Trinity, (3) the virgin birth and deity of Christ, (4) the substitutionary theory of the atonement, (5) the bodily resurrection, ascension and second coming of Christ (parousia).
Since most of these beliefs have been a part of Christian orthodoxy [for fifteen centuries], historians have seen the uniqueness of Fundamentalism to consist in its violent opposition to all beliefs that seem opposed to some teaching of the Bible . In the twenties and thirties, this opposition was focused particularly on any theory of man’s [sic] origins, especially evolution, that seemed incompatible with the account in Genesis. Consequently, Fundamentalism tended to be identified with blind opposition to all critical inquiry.
Because of this identification, certain conservative theologians who share the above-described beliefs but who think they can be defended in a rational manner have tended to shirk the name “fundamentalist” and call themselves “evangelical conservatives.” They generally oppose the spirit of ecumenism and any theology, including neo-Reformed theology, which does not regard the Bible as the absolute and infallible rule of faith and practice.”
Notice that 40 years ago he was mentioning the “… violent opposition to all beliefs that seem opposed to some teaching …” The term “Fundamentalist” has since been extended by the mass media to refer to “Fundamentalist” Jews, Moslems, and even Hindus. In each case, the inference is that some people refuse to budge from the most conservative version of their faith that is available to them and resist, even to the point of violence, all competing worldviews, including scientific knowledge about the origins of life and of Earth not really being the center of the universe. Non-Christian examples include some Orthodox and Hassidic Jews, most Shiite Muslims in Iran, and most Sunni Muslims elsewhere. Christian but not Protestant examples would be ultra-conservatives within both Roman and Eastern Orthodox Catholicism, as well as some Mormons (though non-Mormons often consider all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints “non-Christian”). Nontheistic examples would include many Marxists and Secular Humanists, as well as other fervent atheists.
For the purposes of this essay, I could simply refer to “ultra-conservative monotheists and nontheists,” but “Fundamentalists” is somewhat shorter and extremists among the modern Christian Protestants who call themselves by this term were — at least until the World Trade Center attacks — the primary threat to American lives and freedom. So on those occasions when I don’t specifically mention it, you may keep in mind all the other types of Fundamentalists mentioned in the preceding paragraph.
Later in that essay I said:
…this desperate need for a simple universe leads Christian and Islamic Fundamentalists to desire secular power to enforce their opinions (which they call “God’s Law”) upon every man, woman, and child on the planet, and to eliminate all competing worldviews . (Jewish Fundamentalists, however, only want to have total domination over the territory that their predecessors ruled 3,000 years ago as well as over every Jewish family elsewhere in the world.) When Fundamentalists get into secular power, this is what they do, as any glance at Ireland, Israel/Palestine and most Islamic nations will reveal. And then most of them will export their Fundamentalism elsewhere.
Comments: This "fundamentalist" has no desire whatsoever to enforce his view on anyone. It is up to the individual to believe what he chooses. The attempt to politicize Christianity is clearly rebuked by Christ Himself when He said "my servants are not of this world". However, the reader can see that the antipathy toward fundamentalism is rising. It will culminate in the events of the Book of Revelation .
from the Greenville News of 12-24-2003 we read:
Written by Dr Mitchell M Zais, formerly the Pentagon's chief of war plans and commanding general of U.S. and Allied Forces in Kuwait, presently president of Newberry College
We are not actually engaged in a war on terrorism... we are at war, around the world, with radical fundamentalist Islam . The overthrow of the horrific Saddam regime is but one part of the larger war.
From the following website we read:
A new world war? Some say it's already here
By BRIAN MURPHY
Former CIA Director James Woolsey even has bestowed a name: World War IV - III being the Cold War.
"This fourth world war, I think, will last considerably longer than either World Wars I and II," he told students in April at the University of California, Los Angeles.
World War III, or IV, or the War on Terror - or whatever name finally makes it into Webster's - has already catapulted military and political planners into a new age. Campaigns can no longer be measured by territory seized or ended by armistice.
But Semih Idiz, a political commentator for the Aksam newspaper in Turkey, thinks the comparison is apt. " The United States is conducting a war on fundamentalism on a worldwide basis from countries like Indonesia to Kenya ," he says. "So, yes, we can speak of a world war."
From the following website we read:
Much of the new warfare is “asymmetrical” – state armies versus small hit-and-run bands of guerrillas and bombers. It still requires serious firepower, which the U.S. military uncorked in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yet it also demands a huge effort to win hearts and minds among Muslim populations that regard America as a godless monster and still have trouble believing that Sept. 11 was not an American-Jewish plot to discredit them.
“We used to think of war only as an overt military conflict between states,” said Jonathan Stevenson, a terrorism analyst at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. “ What we have here is comprehensive, global mobilization of counterterrorism assets ... It’s all very new .”
Comment: Nothing will be more asymmetrical than Revelation 13.
From the follwoing website we read:
The Pope: Teacher of Globalization?
By The Globalist | Friday, January 16, 2004
From Pope John Paul II New Year's Speech-
The task of watching over global peace and security — and with encouraging the efforts of states to reserve and guarantee these fundamental goods of humanity — was entrusted by governments to the United Nations Organization...
This prohibition [against war], according to the well-known Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, makes provision for only two exceptions:
The first confirms the natural right to legitimate defense, to be exercised in specific ways and in the context of the United Nations ...
The other exception is represented by the system of collective security , which gives the Security Council competence and responsibility for the preservation of peace, with power of decision and ample discretion [translate this into NOT the United States]
“Humanity today is in a new and more difficult phase of its genuine development. It needs a greater degree of international ordering .”
“The United Nations Organization needs to rise more and more above the cold status of an administrative institution and to become a moral center where all the nations of the world feel at home — and develop a shared awareness of being, as it were, a family of nations .”
A legal system made up of norms established down the centuries as a means of disciplining relations between sovereign states finds it difficult to deal with conflicts which also involve entities incapable of being considered states in the traditional sense.
This is particularly the case with terrorist groups. The scourge of terrorism has become more virulent in recent years and has produced brutal massacres.
These have, in turn, put even greater obstacles in the way of dialogue and negotiation, increasing tensions and aggravating problems — especially in the Middle East. [ translate as we need an international legal system to deal with terrorism ].
If you read Revelation 13, you find that it is the false prophet who enforces the eventual marking system and worship.
We know that the antichrist is going to " confirm " (strengthen, enforce - Dan 9:27)) a covenant among ten Arab kings . We can read about this covenant and its enforcement here .
We know that the enforcement of the covenant will result in " conquering" with the purpose " to conquer ." The nations(peoples) that are to be conquered apparently ostensibly shelter or sponsor terrorism. We believe that the "cover story" for the events of the book of Revelation will be the so-called "war on terror."
Are Arab nations already taking the public position of being opposed to terrorists even among their own populace?
On the following webpage we find that the answer is YES.
We’ll Confront Terrorists With Iron Hand’
JEDDAH, 2 May 2004 — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, said yesterday that he believed foreign hands were behind the recent terrorist attacks in the Kingdom.
“We are 95 percent sure, if not 100 percent, that foreign hands are behind these events,” the crown prince told a group of princes, ministers and senior officials who came to meet him.
However, Prince Abdullah emphasized that Saudi Arabia would confront terrorists who try to undermine the country’s security with an iron hand.
“We will track down this deviant group, no matter how long it takes,” he said in an apparent reference to Al-Qaeda sympathizers. The Kingdom has intensified its campaign to stamp out terrorism. [Did he SAY it was Al-Qaeda sympathizers? They report what they want us to hear.]
“Your country is targeted and you know who is behind all this. ... Regrettably, they have deceived some of our sons,” the Saudi Press Agency quoted Prince Abdullah as saying. [I would love to hear what that "..." was in the middle of his sentence. They report what they want us to hear. He apparently DID say who it was and it must not have been Al-Qaeda sympathizers, from the Prince's viewpoint.]
“They have fallen into their (trap) and the latest such incident took place in Yanbu where they killed seven people including five expatriates, a National Guard officer and a policeman and wounded 25 others,” he said.
[Later we know that - And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given unto him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another : and there was given unto him a great sword. (Rev 6:4) They shall kill one another does not sound like conventional war to me. See this . ]
An Interior Ministry official later confirmed that two Americans, two Britons and one Australian were killed in an attack by four gunmen in Yanbu. Three others — with Pakistani, American and Canadian citizenships — were injured” in the shooting, said a ministry official quoted by the SPA.
“What was the sin of these people?” the crown prince asked and emphasized the need for patience, self-assessment and action. “At present even those who keep silent will be accused that he is one among them or deceived by foreigners.
“Now our sons kill their own brethren. They killed those who stand alert for your security and security of your families and children,” he pointed out.
The crown prince described the terrorists as “followers of Satan and colonialists” but emphasized that the Kingdom would defeat its enemies. “We should not show any lenience or negligence in dealing with terrorists ,” he told security and military officers.
Saudi Ambassador to Britain Prince Turki Al-Faisal said the Yanbu attack would only strengthen the Kingdom’s resolve to eradicate terrorists .
“We will not be discouraged by this brutal incident in which innocent lives were lost, British, American, Australian, as well as Saudi Arabian, and many other people were injured in an indiscriminate evil rampage,” the ambassador was quoted as saying after yesterday’s attack.
“Instead, it will strengthen our long-standing resolve to eradicate terrorist activity and to combat this evil wherever we find it, in every corner of the Kingdom,” Prince Turki added.
This discussion was started on 9-2-2004. It is now 9-8-2004 as I attempt to put the finishing touch on my original idea. The idea that I am trying to put forward is happening faster than I can finish writing it down for you. See the article below dated 09-08-2004.

Chechen rebels take Russian school children hostage
The World Today - Thursday, 2 September , 2004 12:30:00
Reporter: Emma Griffiths
HAMISH ROBERTSON: In southern Russia, troops are continuing to surround a school where an armed gang is holding several hundred people hostage, including about 130 children .
The gang is demanding that the Russian Government pull all its troops out of Chechnya, although the Chechen separatist leader , Aslan Maskhadov, is insisting that he's had nothing to do with the siege . [That is probably because he did have nothing to do with it.]
Just before we came on air, I spoke to our correspondent, Emma Griffith, who's in the vicinity of the school in Beslan, in North Ossetia, and I asked her what was happening there at the moment.
EMMA GRIFFITH: Well, there's very little information coming from what's happening inside the school, but I've been to the crisis centre which is being set up in a cultural hall of Beslan, where hundreds of friends, family, extended family, are gathering to wait for any news that they can possibly get of what's going on inside. They're obviously very upset. They're just going through a helpless wait at the moment.
I spoke to the head of the local rehabilitation centre here who says that they've called in 20 counsellors, and they've got another 20 on the way to try to help people. He says the main feeling is one of real frustration, that these people just don't know why their children have been targeted and what these rebels want from their children.
HAMISH ROBERTSON: Well, clearly the authorities don't want a repeat of the Moscow theatre siege, when more than a hundred people died when troops finally stormed the theatre .
Do we know what the troops' tactics are now?
EMMA GRIFFITH: There's no real sign of movement from the troops either. They have surrounded the school, they did that fairly quickly after the rebels seized it. They have been having talks with the rebels.
We're not exactly sure how that's proceeding, but there has been one report that officials have described those talks as one-way talks. We're not even really sure exactly what that means.
But certainly the parents that we've heard have said that they hope that the troops don't storm the school, and that's a source of real concern for them, because any parent's real nightmare that they've got that added fear that the troops could actually launch the same sort of 'rescue attempt' , as you could call it, that they did in Moscow which ended with more than a hundred hostages dead because of the gas that they used .
HAMISH ROBERTSON: Well, it seems that President Putin has privately expressed a great deal of dissatisfaction with the way the special troops, the Spetnatz and other operational groups, do operate in these situations.
Now presumably, they've got to have a win. They've got to get it right this time, and it also affects President Putin's own position, presumably, in terms of Russian domestic politics?
EMMA GRIFFITH: Exactly. And he is under a lot of pressure. It's unusual to see, but the Russian media has been absolutely scathing of him and the security force's performance, because of course this siege isn't alone in terrorist attacks recently. In the last eight days we've had three major attacks in Russia.
Last week the two passenger jets were brought down within minutes of each other – 90 people were killed. That was female suicide bombers there [reportedly a Chechen terrorist] . And a female suicide bomber also in Moscow just a few hours before this siege began, killing nine people in the centre of the city .
So he is under quite a bit of pressure. This is probably… you could say this is one of the most important weeks of his leadership.
Putting this in perspective for us is Vladimir Shlapentokh [Professor of Sociology, Michigan State University], who recently [October 2002] made a trip to Russia and had the following to say-
from the following webpage-
One of the best ways to understand the current political processes in Russia as well as to make predictions about the country's future is to consider whom the people regard as their enemies. [he mentions several enemies, among them the Jews, Americans, and the Chechen terrorists ["Islamic Extremists"].
He refers to the " gallery of foes before October 2002"
The reason this time frame is significant, he says-
One year after 9/11, I made a trip to Moscow. As I learned from personal experience, the hostility and schadenfreude felt by much of the Russian educated class had only increased. Before an audience of one hundred fifty college students from a private university in Moscow (Nesterova's University), I discussed the Russians' reaction to 9/11. From the audience I heard only the voice of hatred toward America and gloating over the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. Coincidentally, I gave this talk on October 23, 2002, just a few hours before Chechen militants seized the theater on Dubrovka in Moscow, during the performance of the popular musical "Nord-Ost" (800 hostages were taken). [To quote Robin Williams who told Billy Crystal, when Robin discovered that Lou Gehrig died of Lou Gehrig's disease, "What are the odds of THAT?"]
Prior to the siege in Moscow, the second position on Russia's list of enemies was occupied by the Chechen separatists as well as ordinary Chechens and "people of Caucasian nationality" (i.e., Azerbaijanis and other Asian peoples)
However, the hatred of Chechens and other "dark people" pushed Jews out of the leading spot. According to the Fund of Public Opinion, the respondents regarded the Chechens as a "hated ethnic group" six times more than the Jews . [read "Islamic Terrorists" as the title of the webpage avers]
What was the effect of the October "Islamic Terrorist" hostage scene in Dubovka?
The list of enemies changes after October
The developments in Russia on October 23-26, 2002 shocked the nation. Roughly fifty Chechen militants entered Moscow, established a base of operations, and easily subdued a theater in Moscow's Dubrovka district. An elite unit of the Russian special forces regained control of the building by using a knockout gas that resulted in 128 fatalities.
The appalling events changed the composition of Russia's roster of enemies. In this period, animosity toward America declined somewhat. Many Russians recognized the commonality between September 11 and October 23, and some observers in the media noted what appeared to be Washington's unconditional solidarity with the Russians . The prestigious Fund of Long Term International Studies and the Institute of International Relations and Economy of the Russian Academy of Science went so far as to insist, in its annual survey of Russia's relations with foreign countries, that " the anti-terrorist coalition with the USA gives Russia a chance ... to restore its status as a great power ," and therefore " Russian-American relations are of great strategic importance to the country ."
Further, the author shows how the Russians [like many Americans] are becoming fed up with the Europeans over the minimization of the War on Terrorism.
...the Russian people's hostility toward Europe, which was hard to find in the Russian media prior to October, became an important element of the Russian political landscape. In the aftermath of the October crisis, the Russians were angered by Europe's continued focus on the plight of the Chechens in their quest for independence...
...However, neither the similarity between 9/11 and 10/23, nor the new contempt toward Europe was strong enough to remove America from Russia's roster of enemies. Hatred of America is still felt by many Russian elites. Some of them (mostly Communists and rabid nationalists) even claimed that U.S. special forces were behind the terrorist attack in Moscow.
The Chechens had once been seen as separatists struggling for their independence from Moscow. Now they are regarded as Islamic extremists and part of a major offensive against the civilized world.
Unlike incidents in the past, religion played a prominent role in the act. During the siege at the Moscow theater, the terrorists were often seen praying, and as reported by the hostages, they made several references to Islam .
As one Russian author noted about the siege, "Islam was used for the first time by Chechen militants not only as a religion but also as a weapon." Another important element that did not exist during the first Chechen war in 1994-1996 was the strong conviction of many Russians about the deep involvement of foreign Islamic organizations in the Chechen war .
The new Russian foe: Chechens as the enemies of civilization
President Vladimir Putin has played a major role in changing the image of Chechens from "separatists" (early in his presidency in 1999-2000) to "international terrorists" (after 9/11) to " Islamic terrorists with global ambitions" (after October 23, 2002). Prior to the October tragedy in Moscow, Putin talked about "international terrorism " without regard to its ideological character, as the common enemy of both Russia and the West.
After the October events, Putin took a more significant step in developing the image of Russia's number one enemy. On two separate occasions (during a press conference in Brussels in November and one month later as a talk-show guest on Russian TV ) he described Russia's enemy as " Islamic extremists " and "religious fanatics .
We have maintained all along that the so-called "religious fanatics" would be the basis for the events leading to the civil war as described in the book of Revelations .
To emphasize the scope of danger, Putin compared Islamic radicals to the Bolsheviks and the Nazis.
Making a distinction between Bush and Putin, the author says-
President Bush did not use such terms as "Islam" or "Muslims" in his hour-long State of the Union speech on January 28, 2003. Meanwhile, Putin, unlike his Western counterparts, declared bluntly that terrorists use Islam as a "cover for their activities."
This is more acceptable rhetoric in Russia than in the United States (presumably due to the value placed on religious freedom in the United States). However, in the long run, the view portrayed by Putin will prevail universally (after the Rapture occurs and there is a paradigm shift in public sentiment.)
A Moscow journalist noted, "all terrorist acts in Russia and elsewhere have been committed by Islamic radicals, and Islam is used as a justification for the most heinous deeds. "
Some Russian authors, as if developing Putin's view on the danger to the existence of Christianity , have gone even further and directly embraced the concept of a clash of "two civilizations." They frame this argument mostly in the context of the Russian-Chechen war . Andrei Kuraev, a known professor of Orthodox theology and a publicist, straightforwardly regarded the war between Russia and Chechnia as a confrontation between the agricultural and nomadic civilizations. Contrary to the previous terminology, which described the conflict as a war between Russia and Chechnia, Kuraev suggested that the Chechens, as an ethnic group, were at war with the Russians. He conveyed his certainty that all Chechens in Russia regarded the terrorists who seized the Moscow theater as heroes of the Chechen nation .
The view that the Russian and Chechen modes of life are incompatible has been supported by several of Izvestia's readers who accepted the clash of civilizations theory as a new paradigm for explaining the war in Chechnia . Some of them even described the Chechens as "a population of parasites." Almost none of the twenty readers who reacted to Kuraev's article condemned the author's statements. Leading Russian journalists (among them the leading essayist and TV anchor Maxim Sokolov) clearly conveyed the feelings of many Russians when they described the Chechens as people who live among Russians but ignore Russian customs and traditions , [by the way, these words are spoken of a group in the United States, i.e., failure to assimilate, etc., by Samuel Huntington, in his latest book Who are We? The Challenges to America's National Identity . The group? Hispanic America is "threatening" the identity of Protestant America, says Huntington.]
However, Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations " has apparently advanced to a more virulent state in Russia than in America. This is in large measure due to the grace of God shed in the hearts of God-fearing Americans whose lives are sharing "common grace" with the entire citizenry and "hindering" the spirit of antichrist until the rapture. There are journalists in the United States who are just as mean spirited, but, journalists in Russia, describe the Chechens as-
"bloodthirsty, cruel and irreconcilable enemies," who praise the plundering of their neighbors as national achievements, and who take part in kidnapping, enslavement and the murder of innocent people. Chechens, according to this image, are people who form gangs to terrorize the Russian markets. Another Moscow author, in his article about the Chechens, distinguished between ethnic groups that are able to create a normal society, and those groups that only want to destroy other societies.
There are many Russian elites who accept Samuel Huntington's vision of the world . Sergei Karaganov, a leading Moscow political scientist and deputy director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Science, talked openly about "the confrontation between Islamic and Western cultures ." Another known political scientist insisted that the Muslim world "lives in the 'Middle Ages,'" while other nations live in the modern world. He was seconded by a Moscow journalist who also saw a radical difference between the Muslim and Western civilizations, insisting that democracy is probably deeply alien to the first one.
---From the following website-
we read that Putin is taking a hardline versus what he perceives to be " Islamic terrorists " in Chechnya [in response to the Beslan seige]. He blames " unnamed foreign countries [who] want to break bits off Russia."
The Biblical significance of this situation is two-fold:
(1) the war on terrorism and the tendency for the United States and Russian security forces eventually uniting to combat "terrorism" and the notion that there is an intelligence plan to accomplish exactly that.
(2) The location of Chechnya is [by any reasonable interpretation] in the direct path, if not one of the originating locations of the Magog invasion of Israel .
[In the article above quoting Vladimir Shlapentokh, it is said " Many journalists and scholars expressed doubt that Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda were involved in the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington ." Likewise, in the BBC article on Putin, it states [of the Chechen terrorists] that "unnamed foreign countries are involved." On the web there are many conspiracy theorist websites concerning 9-11 as well. The vast majority of these [wrongly in the author's opinion] say that the United States and Israeli intelligence are behind the attacks on 9-11. It is this author's view that the entire war on terrorism is an intelligence operation of some kind. We just don't know and can not know the extent of it, nor its true origin. It is a well known fact that a standard methodology of intelligence operations is to create a conflict and/or crisis to effectuate a change in society. Once Revelation 6:4 begins, will it matter to the inhabitants of the planet who started the crisis? Hardly. In this author's view, the leadership of the United States is a likely victim of this operation, not the perpetrator, as will be the Russian people. However, the actions and policies of the United States are playing into the hands of those who seek to promote the Clash of Civilizations . Curiously, in Huntington's book Clash of Civilizations , Huntington (p. 264) denies that which no one asserts - to wit -
Defenders of Islam often allege that its Western critics believe there is a central, conspiratorial, directing force in Islam mobilizing it and coordinating its actions against the West and others. If the critics believe this, they are wrong. Why did he go out of his way to deny this? Is there an attempt being made to unite Russia and the United States to utilize the security forces of both to fight against this (we are to believe -MONOLITHIC, RANDOM, and UNDIRECTED) force called Islamic Terrorism? Did you ever notice that every time the US makes any kind of advancement in Iraq, there is always a "terrorist" attack? Why is this? In a recent article at http://www.memri.org/bin/opener_latest.cgi?ID=SD77704
we read that-
"Behind the two Iraqi camps one also finds rival external forces. Some anti-democratic forces are determined to do all they can to prevent the establishment of a mould-breaking new regime in Baghdad. The democratic countries, on the other hand, are deeply divided on Iraq's future.
Admittedly, there is a conflict between rival external forces . The issue here is WHO is going to control Iraq. The Bush-Kerry presidential race is about this same topic - what will be the roles of the United States and the United Nations (and others) in Iraq and the emerging Middle East? [Bush was a man whose temperament could have lead one to believe he would invade Iraq (if provoked) and thus expand the Clash of Civilizations. Kerry is a man who would be expected to turn control over to the United Nations or other foreign interests. Such was and is their respective electability and such is the nature of presidential candidates. The presidency has nothing to do with conservatives and liberals, Democrats or Republicans. It has to do with rival external forces and what they want to do next . ]
For our purposes here we are dealing with the subject of HOW an eventual scenario could develop which leads to universal civil war utilizing a united Russian and US security force. In such a scenario we find that they should kill one another , Revelation 6:4, the red horse with a great sword . This is not a military war in the conventional sense where the armies of two countries are fighting. This is civil chaos in which civil authorities fight the "terrorists". Once this begins, the label of "terrorists" will become meaningless.
By the way, Vladimir Shlapentokh concludes in his article that- Unforeseen events could quickly change the character of Russia's relationship with the USA. At the same time, while the stability of the growing partnership between Russia and the USA should not be taken for granted, in the last seven years, the constellation of enemies in the Russian mind has not been more favorably aligned than it is today] This statement turns out to be more than prophetic. Chechnya: Why Putin is implacable
By Paul Reynolds
BBC News Online world affairs correspondent
His insistence that there can be no surrender to demands for independence for Chechnya is based on a number of factors which include:
a fear of further chaos on Russia's borders in the region
a feeling that Russia must not make any further territorial concessions anywhere
a belief that the Chechens were offered and threw away the chance of responsible independence before.
Mr Putin has also added into this complex mix the spectre of international (by which he means Islamic) terrorism and an accusation that unnamed foreign countries want to break bits off Russia.
It must also not be forgotten that he has staked his own reputation on his policy and that therefore he is reluctant to change it.
The Russian fear is that terrorists have taken over the Chechen opposition and that if Chechnya becomes independent, they will take over Chechnya as well. They might then begin to spread their influence outwards.
Mr Putin has alluded to Russian claims that Islamic terrorism is linked to the attack on the school and other incidents.
He implies that Islamic terrorism not Chechen nationalism is the real enemy.
Here we have the Russians and the United States espousing the same policy concerning Islamic terrorism. Therefore, they have an incentive - a common enemy - to join forces (if not at least conduct the same type of operations). We know from the Bible that universal enforcement of the marking system is forthcoming. How would such a scenario become a reality?
Is there anything in print to indicate that such a scenario (a type of Russian and US unification) has been put forth? Before we continue with this question, Reuters has reported today that Russia intends to launch preemptive strikes on terrorist bases.

Russia Ready to Strike Against 'Terror' Worldwide
By Elizabeth Piper
BESLAN, Russia (Reuters) - Russia's top general said on Wednesday he was ready to attack "terrorist bases" anywhere in the world , as security services put a $10 million bounty on two Chechen rebels blamed for last week's school siege.
At the scene of the siege in the southern town of Beslan, medical workers began the painstaking task of identifying more than 100 bodies burned beyond recognition in the explosions which ended the crisis.
" As for launching pre-emptive strikes on terrorist bases, we will carry out all measures to liquidate terrorist bases in any region of the worl d ," General Yuri Baluevsky, chief of Russia's general staff, said, according to Russian news agencies.
"However, this does not mean that we will launch nuclear strikes."
The FSB security service announced the $10 million reward for information leading to the "neutralization" of Aslan Maskhadov and Shamil Basayev, two Chechen separatist leaders who are household names in Russia after a decade of conflict in the mainly Muslim southern province.
More than 1,200 people were taken hostage in Beslan in the nearby province of North Ossetia and at least 326 were killed and 727 wounded, Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov said, revising the death toll down from an earlier 335. Only 210 bodies have been identified.
"Another 32 body fragments have been found and ... final figures for the number of dead could rise," he said in a report to President Vladimir Putin, posted at www.kremlin.ru.
The broadcast on Russian television of graphic footage filmed by militants inside the school added to the horror as Beslan residents prepared to bury more dead.
The pictures showed the school gym littered with what appeared to be bombs and bomb-making equipment and crammed with hostages, watched over by around six of the masked militants, one of whom was heard murmuring, apparently in an Arabic prayer.
WAR ON MOSCOW
Authorities have blamed the hostage crisis on "international terrorists" -- something that critics said was a fig leaf to mask the failure of Russia's Chechen policy.
But the siege and ensuing battle were the latest in a string of attacks against Russian forces since August 1, when Maskhadov promised a fiercer war against Moscow's rule, although his London-based representative has denied he was behind Beslan.
Russia had previously offered rewards of $5 million for Basayev and $30,000 for Maskhadov.
One captured suspect said the hostage-takers numbered around 30, including two women, Ustinov said. At the start of the siege, some asked their leader why they had seized a school. He shot one of the waverers dead.
Ustinov said the militants later tried to rewire their bombs but one exploded, triggering the storming of the school -- something security analysts have slammed as a bungled operation.
Russia's Izvestia daily, citing troops who took part in the assault, said four of the hostage-takers were captured, including a woman.
Both the United States and the European Union advocate a political solution in Chechnya, although Putin has ruled out talks and says the West has double standards since its leaders would not sit down to negotiate with Osama bin Laden.
His view has some currency among ordinary Russians, thousands of whom attended rallies on Tuesday in solidarity with the families of Beslan.
A prominent banner at the main Moscow rally was adorned with British flags and read: "Want to help? Then extradite Zakayev!," a reference to Maskhadov's London-based spokesman who has political asylum in Britain.
In Beslan itself, around 200 angry people gathered outside the school, insisting that Putin should share the blame along with security forces and North Ossetian president Alexander Dzasokhov."If President Dzasokhov comes near me I'll kill him. My loved ones died, why should he live?," said Yevetta Khaureva, whose 10-year-old niece and 42-year-old sister both died.
Who are the rival external forces?
If you read Malachi Martin's book The Keys of this Blood, you will find 3 likely candidates and the-
"untold story behind the Vatican's role in today's winner-take-all race against time to establish, maintain, and control the first one-world government . " (cover)
“We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through… wide circles of American society and wide circles of the Christian community do not realize this fully… ” (p. 16)
The original subtitle of Martin's book is The Struggle for World Dominion Between Pope John Paul II, Mikhail Gorbachev, and the Capitalist West . Later editions are subtitled- Pope John Paul II Versus Russia and the West for Control of the New World Order
These then are the rival external forces in Iraq and elsewhere (if we are to believe Malachi Martin).
In Martin's book, please note that the United States per se is NOT one of the three parties struggling to establish, maintain, and control the first one-world government. The United States military and intelligence assets are the muscle of the external force.
The "capitalist west " - known as the Golden Internationale in the "Keys" - is an external force.
The "Red Internationale " of the former Soviet state is an external force described in the "Keys". Their muscle includes the FSB security service (the successor to the KGB) and Russian military and any other intelligence assets, Islamic and otherwise.
The "Keys" themselves (and thus the title to his book) symbolize Malachi Martin's view of the authority invested in the Pope to stand as the judge over the " Red" and " Golden Internationales ." The Vatican has its own intelligence assets operating within all the above and is a significant external force. See Mark Aarons and John Loftus, Unholy Trinity , How the Vatican's Nazi Networks Betrayed Western Intelligence to the Soviets, St. Martin's Press, New York as an historical example.
The "Golden Internationale" is a term chosen to depict the " Internationalist-Transnationalist " financial elite whose motive is purely profit, hence the term "Golden." It refers to those industrial interests who do not consider themselves as citizens of any nation. No man can become president of the United States without the support of these elites and/or the backing of the Vatican. The "Golden Internationale ", Martin's derogatory term (similar to the "Communist Internationale"), is prophetically described in James 5:1 - 5:6 where we find " rich men" in the "last days " holding back the wages of the laborer. Such is the true nature of the "global economy" and "free trade."
This thesis is not to impugn the motives of any individual. Individuals, with pure motives, can be persuaded (coopted) to follow a course of action that meets the objectives of the external forces (without the knowledge of the individual). This is happening to individuals in the United States and Russia. A case in point in the United States is the so-called "religious right" falling into the immanence doctrine. See below for the definition of immanence.
--Returning to our original question- HOW can an eventual scenario develop which leads to universal civil war utilizing a united Russian and US security force? The answer, of course, is the war on terror. The recent Chechen developments in Russia are the "9-11" catalysts for the Russian people.
According to Martin, has there been a strategy to unify Russia and the United States?
On page 483 Martin says the United States and Europe are
"CAUGHT in the beginnings of a political EMBRACE whose ONLY PURPOSE is to CONTROL THEM BOTH, and thus make inevitable the harnessing of their economic power to consolidate a veritable Leninist empire." [emphasis added] A loose translation of this might be - the United States and Europe will pay the bill to enslave themselves.
What is the proposed geographical extent of this empire? On page 30 Martin says - "from Vladivostok to California"
How and why is the Russian secret police important to the elites?
As preposterous as all this may sound to the unitiated, consider that in a study of 1963 by the United States Arms Control and Disarmament Agency of the Peace Research Institute
"...WE BENEFIT ENORMOUSLY FROM THE CAPABILITY OF THE SOVIET POLICE SYSTEM...the breakup of the Russian Communist empire today would doubtless be conducive to freedom, but would be a GREAT DEAL MORE CATASTROPHIC FOR WORLD ORDER. " (emphasis added)
------William Jasper, Global Tyranny, Step by Step , Western Islands, 1992, cited on p. 36
In a State Department commissioned study of March 1962 by Bloomfield it was stated that
"the subordination of states to a true world government appears impossible; but if the communist dynamic were greatly abated, the West, MIGHT WELL LOSE WHATEVER INCENTIVE IT HAS FOR WORLD GOVERNMENT. " (emphasis added)
---Cited by Jasper, p. 36
So, the existence of the Soviet threat was an "incentive for World Government " and the loss of the "Soviet Police System " would have been "catastrophic for World Order ." There is your answer.
Now that the "communist dynamic" has supposedly abated, a new public dynamic is needed to promote the New World Order. Such a public dynamic is the war on terror. As usual there will always be plenty of the intellectually elite to provide a rationale to pursue whatever is the day's desired policy. Meanwhile, do not overlook the dormant "Soviet Police System." They are about to become involved in the war on terror.
From 30,000 feet, Martin says the external forces have a particular alignment (if you wanted to keep up with the details, you'd need a program, and some team members might change uniforms at half time)-
"John Paul and Gorbachev may be alone stalking on the geopolitical plane. But WAITING for Gorbachev in John Paul's BACKYARD is a HOST of SUPPORTERS of Gorbachevism."
---Malachi Martin, The Keys of This Blood, p. 312
Martin describes the expected derisive public reaction to the successes of the alignment (laughter)-
"To tell anyone in the West -any of the participants in the entrepreneurial activities of America and Europe, anyone in the Western media, anyone in the scientific community or in the academic faculties of colleges and universities- that ALL OF THEM, along with the leading theologians and Church dignitaries the world over, HAD BEEN THOROUGHLY GROUNDED IN THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF MARXISM would be to elicit hoots of derision and self-righteous cries of protest. "
Martin gives the Pope's answer to this laughter-
"Pope John Paul's answer to such hoots and cries, however, is to point to Gramsci's [an Italian Catholic who penetrated Lenin's system] ghost, which HAS THOROUGHLY PENETRATED ALL OF THESE GROUPS with the Communist revolutionary sense of immanence . " (Immanence is the doctrine of the here and now as the chief god of society.)
---Malachi Martin, The Keys of This Blood, p. 265
Martin describes the true nature of Leninism as the overthrow of society via subtlety-
Gramsci, an "intellectual product of Roman Catholic society ", founded a newspaper in 1919 called The New Order. He spent time in Russia trying to work with the communists, leaving in 1923. He believed in using Leninist geo-political forces to
"conquer the MIND, not streets and cities, by endorsing unity, consensus, and pacification"
---Malachi Martin, p. 242
"Though he had predicted it all, it might have boggled even Gramsci's mind to see the degree to which governments and individuals in the Christian, capitalist West responded to his anonymous revolution with their willing consent and their DOWNRIGHT COOPERATION with the Soviet purpose regarding them. "
---Malchi Martin, p. 6
John Paul II believes that-
"global system of economics and government" is expanding per the " blueprint of Gramsci" toward a "one-world government ,"
---Malachi Martin, p. 157
The Pope praises Gorbachev asking, "Has the society of nations been taken unconsciously captive by someone who may be the prime master in the exquisite art of political illusion on a grand scale?"
---Malachi Martin, p. 192
The communists felt that
"in Gramsci's blueprint, they had stumbled onto the COUNTERINTELLIGENCE FORMULA PAR EXCELLENCE. They knew he had provided...the Kremlin with what could be described -in appropriate KGB parlance- as the MOST FAR-REACHING EXERCISE OF DECEPTION EVER EXECUTED by the Party-State..." (* emphasis added)
---Malachi Martin, p. 253
While celebrating the fall of communism, we have become"Leninists" ourselves (because heaven is here on earth and the here and now is all that matters). The Russian and American people are now both fighting the war on terror. Revelation 6:4 will be the ultimate result. Since the war on terror is an intelligence operation, the inhabitants of the world will be deceived into embarking upon a self destructive war. The Bible (Revelation 17:2) says that the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk by the wine of her fornication . This could well refer to Western peoples being falsely lead into believing that Islam is by definition terroristic. Likewise, the Arab nations will be falsely lead into believing that the West (particularly the United States) is the great satan. The antichrist himself will understand some aspects of this intelligence operation-
Daniel 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance , and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up .
The rise of antichrist will be deceptive, the result of an intelligence operation at the highest levels. The antichrist causes " craft " to prosper (Daniel 8:25). " Craft " in Strong's Concordance is word # 4820 and means "fraud, deceit, and treachery." He also shall " understand dark sentences " in Daniel 8:23. Interestingly enough, the Strong's Concordance word for " dark " AND " sentences " is the SAME word, # 2420. They mean "trick" saying. Hence, since the word is used twice, the "trick" is to give out double meanings in the same phrase. The essence of an intelligence operation is misleading information (dual information). The antichrist (DURING HIS RISE) understands " dark sentences ." He has been (and will be) involved in intelligence operations in the "war on terror." An example of a dual meaning - "peace process" really translates into "war", and (for some) "war on terror" means "war on Islam."

we read how that the King of Jordan has a strong interest in defeating the insurgents /terrorists
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Jordanian King Abdullah II said forces in Iraq are "getting close" to capturing terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
"He's slipped through the net once or twice where we got closer to him than he would have liked," Abdullah told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Tuesday. "The Iraqis, Jordanians and coalition forces are working very hard to track him down -- and we're getting close." The king said he based his assessment on "hard intelligence."
Will the King have a larger role in the future ? The MidEast "peace" and the War on Terrorism (Clash of Civilizations ) are the two sides to the same pair of pliers.
from the website
we read how the King of Jordan is taking an interest in opposing Syrian sponsored terrorism in Iraq. (We are already aware that Jordan sent troops (at the request of the House Saud) into Saudi Arabia to put down a terrorist uprising; Abdullah's regional influence is increasing).
Iraqi resistance down but not out, Bush tells troops
...Iraqi resistance forces are being directed to a greater degree than previously suspected by loyalists of the former dictator Saddam Hussein living in Syria, The Washington Post reported yesterday, quoting US military intelligence officials. It said a handful of senior Baathists were collecting money from private sources in Saudi Arabia and Europe for the Iraqi insurgents and were managing some of their operations from Syria.
In separate interviews with the paper, King Abdullah of Jordan and Iraq's interim President, Ghazi Yawar, also raised concerns about Syria's role in Iraq.
from the website-
we read that there are those calling for an increase in the role of Jordan
"The international community will recognize the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as the sole representative of the Palestinians and provide it economic assistance to enable absorption of a limited number of refugees."
The Bible is clear that the kingdom of the endtimes Biblical antichrist will arise in what was ancient Assyria , modern day Jordan/Iraq .

we read (in an interview with General Joseph Hoar by the Executive Intelligence Review, EIR) how plans for "international hit squads" are being drawn up now. (These "hit squads" will be a major part of the chaos as prophecies in the Book of Revelation unfold). In the context of a discussion about the nomination of Gonzales as Attorney General, General Hoar says -
Hoar: Well, first of all, on the personal level, Jeff, I would characterize my own opposition to this as going back earlier in the Gulf War, and more especially, the Afghan war, in which Mr. Gonzales wrote the famous memoranda for the President, in which he described the Geneva Conventions as "outmoded and perhaps quaint," I think was the word that he used. And I thought it was extraordinary, that somebody who's an attorney, who is in the White House, could view these Conventions, which have the effect of law, since they've been approved by the Senate, as quaint or outmoded, because the motivation for these conventions, of course, had been the protection of American military men and women, who might become prisoners of war later on.
(how about civilian citizens of the United States eventually?)
The conversion also turns to the "military adventurism" of the Bush administration and its total lack of self examination-
Hoar: Well, you know, we can only look back and view all of this, and say, that there is no discernible effort of self-examination. No discernible effort to go back over various phases of what has gone on out there in the last couple of years, and have some sort of a hot wash-out, some sit-down and have a critique about what went well, and what didn't go well. And to take appropriate action, which, in some cases, should have meant that people would have lost their job. I've said publicly for something over a year now, that both Mr. Rumsfeld and Mr. Wolfowitz ought to be fired, but clearly that's not going to happen.
The point is, that there has been no reflection on how all of this has gone.
... (we are blindly rushing to a world-wide police state )
EIR: Unfortunately, there's been—there's a level of insanity, I fear, among some of these people, that they continue to talk, although Congress sort of slapped them on the wrist on the issue of developing capabilities for conventional use of micro and mini-nuclear weapons... I fear that the insanity factor, or disconnect from reality, among some of these neo-conservatives, who know nothing about war-fighting, one would hope that the reality is weighing in to the point that we're not going to get into any further adventures [like invading Syria, etc] , but ...
Hoar: Well, I think ... I have the same hope, Jeff. I think the concern is, who in the government will speak out and openly oppose these kinds of thoughts? My belief is that, having worked with Colin Powell for a number of years, that I feel reasonably certain, without having ever asked him, that he was constantly the voice of caution about much of this military adventurism. And with him gone, it's hard for me to believe—and certainly with the change at CIA—I think the likelihood that you're going to have senior government officials counselling caution—I think anything is possible. I really do. I think it's a frightening prospect.
EIR: One of the other aspects of that, by the way, seems to be that there's a big push coming out of the same civilian grouping at the Pentagon, to carry out other kinds of questionable operations under the umbrella of the war on terrorism, and that there are some things being put together under Steven Cambone, and General Boykin over at this new office of intelligence, in the Secretary of Defense's office, that has a vision of recasting Special Forces as kind of international hit squads , under the umbrella of the same sort of lack of concern, or regard, for international law. [i.e., ignoring the Geneva Convention]
Hoar: Well, I couldn't agree more. And I think this is a very scary aspect of what's been going on as part of the (quote) " reorganization of the intelligence community ." I think it's a big mistake. And given General Boykin's demonstrated poor judgment, in my judgment, he shouldn't be allowed to make any decisions about anything, after his public displays of bad judgment about Islam, and his experiences in other places.
Friends, the "reorganization of the intelligence community" is going to enable a significant widening of the so-called "war on terror" and the ever increasing likelihood of a police state. The amazing thing is how men blindly rush to fulfill prophecy with no idea whatsoever of where they are headed. Of course, such is the providence of the Lord.
The King's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever He will. - Proverbs 21:1

Iraq's president and Jordan's king vow to battle terrorism targeting Iraq
The Iraqi leader's visit to Amman marked an improvement in relations between the two neighboring countries. The ties deteriorated after a Feb. 28 suicide bombing south of Baghdad that killed 125 people was erroneously blamed on a Jordanian.
The two leaders met for 25 minutes at a hilltop palace, and Abdullah told Talabani that he will return Jordan's ambassador to Baghdad a move that would upgrade ties between both countries. Jordan recalled its envoy before Saddam Hussein was ousted in April 2003 and it has since been represented by a charge d'affaires.''We stand ready to return our ambassador at the soonest possible moment, especially as the Iraqi side is prepared to provide security to the Jordanian Embassy in Baghdad,'' Abdullah said, according to a Royal Palace statement

The Pentagon has already signed off $383 million to force through the document’s recommendations by 2009. Military and intelligence sources in the US talk of “a revolution in the concept of warfare”. The report orders three new developments in America’s approach to warfare:
Firstly, the Pentagon says it will wage war against the internet in order to dominate the realm of communications, prevent digital attacks on the US and its allies, and to have the upper hand when launching cyber-attacks against enemies.
Secondly, psychological military operations, known as psyops, will be at the heart of future military action. Psyops involve using any media – from newspapers, books and posters to the internet, music, Blackberrys and personal digital assistants (PDAs) – to put out black propaganda to assist government and military strategy. Psyops involve the dissemination of lies and fake stories and releasing information to wrong-foot the enemy.
Thirdly, the US wants to take control of the Earth’s electromagnetic spectrum, allowing US war planners to dominate mobile phones, PDAs, the web, radio, TV and other forms of modern communication. That could see entire countries denied access to telecommunications at the flick of a switch by America.
Freedom of speech advocates are horrified at this new doctrine, but military planners and members of the intelligence community embrace the idea as a necessary development in modern combat.
In a recent alumni letter from the superintendent of the United States Naval Academy, the Admiral said-
A Nation at War. There is no doubt that September 11, 2001, changed the face of America forever. Our enemy is ruthless, and the Global War on Terror is going to last throughout the entire commissioned career of the midshipmen attending USNA today. We must ensure that every midshipman has heard the call to duty and is prepared to defend a nation at war.
Those midshipmen who are plebes will graduate in 2011 and serve a minimum of 5 years. Therefore, the Admiral [and presumably the Navy] believe the War on Terror will last at least NINE years.
The letter was sent via email and lead off with-
The Superintendent has asked us to send you the following letter sharing his vision and strategic guidance. The letter then outlines the Admiral's vision which includes the above.

There is a great deal of talk of peace now, but, we have read the last chapter of the book and we will not be fooled (though many will). To put this in perspective, read what President Bush said in his inaugural speech of 2005.
INAUGURAL ADDRESS BY PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH
United States Capitol
11:59 A.M. EST
THE PRESIDENT: Vice President Cheney, Mr. Chief Justice, President Carter, President Bush, President Clinton, members of the United States Congress, reverend clergy, distinguished guests, fellow citizens: (Applause.)
On this day, prescribed by law and marked by ceremony, we celebrate the durable wisdom of our Constitution, and recall the deep commitments that unite our country. I am grateful for the honor of this hour, mindful of the consequential times in which we live, and determined to fulfill the oath that I have sworn and you have witnessed.
At this second gathering, our duties are defined not by the words I use, but by the history we have seen together. For half a century, America defended our own freedom by standing watch on distant borders. After the shipwreck of communism came years of relative quiet, years of repose, years of sabbatical -- and then there came a day of fire.
We have seen our vulnerability -- and we have seen its deepest source. For as long as whole regions of the world simmer in resentment and tyranny, prone to ideologies that feed hatred and excuse murder, violence will gather, and multiply in destructive power, and cross the most defended borders, and raise a mortal threat. There is only one force of history that can break the reign of hatred and resentment, and expose the pretensions of tyrants, and reward the hopes of the decent and tolerant, and that is the force of human freedom. (Applause.)
We are led, by events and common sense, to one conclusion: The survival of liberty in our land increasingly depends on the success of liberty in other lands. (Applause.) The best hope for peace in our world is the expansion of freedom in all the world. (Applause.)
America's vital interests and our deepest beliefs are now one. [What happened to the separation of church and state? LOOKOUT, FRIENDS, they are using your religious liberty emotions to support the Geostrategic Imperative, which calls for a new Pearl Harbor, written pre-911. Those invoking the name of God for this endeavor, do not know the God i know.] From the day of our founding, we have proclaimed that every man and woman on this Earth [the declaration of Independence and the Constitution have NOTHING to do with every person on Earth] has rights and dignity and matchless value [apparently including $25 per month wages in the FarEast so that we can buy stuff from Walmart], because they bear the image of the Maker [which one?] of heaven and Earth. (Applause.) Across the generations we have proclaimed the imperative of self-government, because no one is fit to be a master [except the Globalists], and no one deserves to be a slave (Applause.) [except the soon to be bankrupt middle class of the US and said bankruptcy will assist in the acceptance of the mark]. Advancing these ideals is the mission that created our nation. It is the honorable achievement of our fathers. Now it is the urgent requirement of our nation's security, and the calling of our time.
So it is the policy of the United States to seek and support the growth of democratic movements and institutions in every nation and culture, with the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in our world. (Applause.) [Even if we have to kill half of the people in the Middle East. Friends, that is exactly what the Bible says will happen. Read it for yourself. Do you believe the Bible?]
This is not primarily the task of arms,
though we will defend ourselves and our friends by
force of arms when necessary. Freedom, by its nature,
must be chosen, and defended by citizens, and
sustained by the rule of law and the protection of
minorities. And when the soul of a nation finally
speaks [lookout, we are in
the institutions that arise may reflect customs and
traditions very different from our own [how about the endtime empire of Daniel?].
America will not impose our own style of government on
the unwilling. Our goal instead is to help others find
their own voice, attain their own freedom, and make
their own way. [Has the whole country gone into a
trance? Do you believe we surrounded Iran on the
west in Iraq and on the east in Afghanistan for the
promotion of democracy? Read the The Grand
Chessboard: American Primacy and its GeoStrategic
Imperatives by Zbigniew Brzezinski or a
The great objective of ending tyranny is the concentrated work of generations. The difficulty of the task is no excuse for avoiding it. America's influence is not unlimited, but, fortunately for the oppressed, America's influence is considerable, and we will use it confidently in freedom's cause. (Applause.) [If men were not sinners, this might work, but, we know that men ARE sinners, including and especially those who are "ending tyranny." I am not talking about soldiers, who are just following orders. I am talking about the plans of the globalists. You must either believe that this will work or you must believe what the Bible says. They are mutually exclusive (unless you believe Utopia is followed by the Book of Revelation.) Every presumptive empire God has destroyed and He has already promised to destroy this one. See Daniel 2:34,45. God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof is sure!!!!]
My most solemn duty is to protect this nation and its people from further attacks and emerging threats. Some have unwisely chosen to test America's resolve, and have found it firm. (Applause.) We will persistently clarify the choice before every ruler and every nation: the moral choice between oppression, which is always wrong, and freedom, which is eternally right. [This is amazing arrogance and self promotion.] America will not pretend that jailed dissidents prefer their chains, or that women welcome humiliation and servitude, or that any human being aspires to live at the mercy of bullies.(Applause.) [but, "America" will pretend that we do not rendition. The tribulation saints will be renditioned one day. So, while you conservatives stand by cheering the war, remember, when this reaches its ultimate form, you may be a "terrorist."]
We will encourage reform in other governments by making clear that success in our relations will require the decent treatment of their own people. (Applause.)[How about decent treatment of the US middle class who have to pay for a $1,000,000,000,000 war? A friend said that a Democrat is for "tax and spend" and a Republican is for "borrow and spend."] America's belief in human dignity will guide our policies. Yet rights must be more than the grudging concessions of dictators; they are secured by free dissent and the participation of the governed. In the long run, there is no justice without freedom, and there can be no human rights without human liberty.(Applause.) [And if we have to bring about Armageddon to create human dignity, we will bite the bullet. The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord: as the rivers of water he turneth it whithersoever he will..See Proverbs 21:1... amazing it is]
Some, I know, have questioned the global appeal of liberty -- though this time in history, four decades defined by the swiftest advance of freedom ever seen [What am I missing??? I must not have read the news for 40 years], is an odd time for doubt. Americans, of all people, should never be surprised by the power of our ideals. Eventually, the call of freedom comes to every mind and every soul. We do not accept the existence of permanent tyranny because we do not accept the possibility of permanent slavery. (Applause.) Liberty will come to those who love it. [in order to create liberty, if we have to put in prison those who disagree with our definition, we will. There is nothing worse than someone who is morally "right" in his own eyes. Pride goeth before the fall.]
Today, America speaks anew to the peoples of the world:
All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: The United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you. (Applause.) [We will kill 100,000 of your citizens to prove it, all in the name of ending tyranny.]
Democratic reformers facing repression, prison, or exile can know: America sees you for who you are, the future leaders of your free country. [with 50 permanent military bases to celebrate your freedom.]
The rulers of outlaw regimes can know that we still believe as Abraham Lincoln did: "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves, and, under the rule of a just God, cannot long retain it." [God help us. We are going to destroy "outlaw regimes."]
The leaders of governments with long habits of control need to know: To serve your people you must learn to trust them. Start on this journey of progress and justice, and America will walk at your side. (Applause.) [Take a look at the US Congress and tell me that this is not a joke.]
And all the allies of the United States can know: We honor your friendship, we rely on your counsel, and we depend on your help. Division among free nations is a primary goal of freedom's enemies. The concerted effort of free nations to promote democracy is a prelude to our enemies' defeat. [Let all who read the Book of Revelation know that it is "democracy" that does it. If you are trusting in democracy, friend, you are going to perish.]
Today, I also speak anew to my fellow citizens:
From all of you I have asked patience in the hard task of securing America, which you have granted in good measure. Our country has accepted obligations that are difficult to fulfill, and would be dishonorable to abandon. Yet, because we have acted in the great liberating tradition of this nation, tens of millions have achieved their freedom. (Applause.) [Huh??] And as hope kindles hope, millions more will find it. By our efforts, we have lit a fire, [I agree with that!] as well -- a fire in the minds of men. It warms those who feel its power; it burns those who fight its progress; and one day this untamed fire of freedom will reach the darkest corners of our world. (Applause.)
Few Americans accepted the hardest duties in this cause -- in the quiet work of intelligence and diplomacy, the idealistic work of helping raise up free governments, the dangerous and necessary work of fighting our enemies. Some have shown their devotion to our country in deaths that honored their whole lives -- and we will always honor their names and their sacrifice. (Applause.)
All Americans have witnessed this idealism, and some for the first time. I ask our youngest citizens to believe the evidence of your eyes. You have seen duty and allegiance in the determined faces of our soldiers. You have seen that life is fragile, and evil is real, and courage triumphs. Make the choice to serve in a cause larger than your wants, larger than yourself -- and in your days you will add not just to the wealth of our country, but to its character. (Applause.)
America has need of idealism and courage, because we have essential work at home -- the unfinished work of American freedom. In a world moving toward liberty [amazing], we are determined to show the meaning and promise of liberty. The fact is - all agree that more war is coming. The difference is what people believe is the outcome of the wars. Do you believe there is an earthly utopia to be built by men?
Matthew 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
The "stone" is Jesus Christ. We all will either fall on this stone (in dependence) or the stone will fall on us and grind us to powder. In either case Jesus Christ is "the judgment of the world." His judgment will "grind us to powder" if we reject Him.

Is the War on Terror about to go domestic all the way to the state level?
Security Chief Urges 'Collective Fight' Against Terrorism
By Spencer S. Hsu
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano urged Americans on Wednesday to join a "collective fight against terrorism" that combines the efforts of individuals, companies and local, state and foreign governments...
Answering critics who have accused the Obama administration of downplaying the risk of terrorist attacks, Napolitano said the threat has not abated and outlined an approach that emphasizes burden-sharing as federal spending and political support for post-Sept. 11 security measures wane.
"I am sometimes asked if I think complacency is a threat. I believe the short answer is 'yes,' " Napolitano said, speaking to the Council on Foreign Relations in New York before visiting the World Trade Center site destroyed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks...
To confront a terrorism threat that "is even more decentralized, more networked and more adaptive," she said, counter-terrorism efforts also need to exploit the values of "networks." For example, the nation needs better technology, training and linkages to share information with 780,000 local law enforcement agents, Napolitano said, promising to strengthen 70 state-run intelligence "fusion centers" that began under the Bush administration.End 07-31-2009
