information is offered with the hope that YOU can come to KNOW the Lord
personally. An Open Letter to All Leaders, Kings, Religionists, and Supporters of the So-Called Coming "Peace" 02-04-2006 Ladies and Gentlemen, There will be a peace, but, only after the prince of peace, the Lord Jesus Christ, returns physically to the earth to rule and reign. In the interim, the Bible says that there is going to be a false man-made peace followed by a calamity lasting 7 seven years. Specifically the Bible states "when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." (1 Thess 5:3) The world's citizens have attempted world unity previously and it failed (Gen 11:9). The Bible says that the present attempt will also fail. Having personally attempted my own "devices" and having experienced the fruit of my own works, I confess to failure and the utter uselessness of my own self initiated attempts at being in charge. Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it... (Psa 127:1) is the warning of the scripture. We are not to invoke God's blessing upon our own plans, however noble they may appear. We are to allow the Lord to change us. Only then can a man do the work of the Lord. Whoever the prince that shall come is, he will think like this (according to the Bible). My suggestion is you read this link - it is a warning to all of us. All of us are subject to the same self deceptions. If you read the preceding link, you realize that our heart contains elements that the Lord wants to root out because our heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked , who can know it? (Jer 17:9) The Biblical prince that shall come is unaware of what is actually in his heart, just like the rest of us. Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy... (Isa 10:7). Invoking the name of the Lord does not and will not validate our actions in the eyes of the Lord. I speak from personal experience and personal failure. None of us are immune. The prince that shall come has other titles in the Bible. One of these titles is antichrist. In spite of public perception to the contrary, the Biblical character is not a devil with horns running around doing evil because he believes evil is the thing to do. The Biblical character, as we have shown above, believes he is doing "good." The problem is that (just like the rest of us) when a man (unchanged by the Lord's deep-in-the-heart dealings, effectively emptying the man's heart, Psa 139:23-24) takes matters into his own hands, a disaster results. Herein lies the problem. The Biblical prince, antichrist, is effectively acting against Christ (without even realizing his error) while trying to do the "right" thing. The prince will then be used by his real (but unknown) boss whose proclamation, I will be LIKE the most high (Isa 14:14), attests to the fact that no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed into the ministers of righteousness; (2 Cor 11:14-15). In the eyes of the world's inhabitants, whose hearts have not been radically smitten by the Almighty, the prince will be a man celebrated as the epitome of all that a good, decent, moral, peaceful, "moderate", and well-intentioned man should aspire to being. From the world's viewpoint, the prince will be a wonderful man with admirable goals and abilities to meet them!! Which brings me to my question. Whose approbation do YOU desire? The Lord Jesus Christ or the world? Men or the Almighty (el Shaddai)? It is time for all of us to choose. Choose wisely. If you choose wrongly, you will be serving the one who desires to be LIKE the most high, the angel of light. Please give up your pride and submit to the Lord today. Submission to the Lord is the only action I ask you to make. You can not stop the prophecies of God nor can you bring them to pass. It is all in God's hands. This website does not seek to be in the limelight, has never been advertised, promoted, marketed, etc. We have no interest in "hits." We are here only for those few "seekers" who are left, who wait and "watch" for the return of Jesus Christ. If the Lord wants to bring someone here, we leave that up to Him. The vast majority of even nominal Christians have little interest in the second coming or in taking a serious look at true salvation. Warning: What good does it do you if you understand all there is to know about prophecy (or any religion of any kind) and you are LOST? I encourage all - Muslim, Jew, Gentile, Protestant, Catholic to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He stands at the door and knocks. What is your answer? We know that the Bible says many will be saved into eternity. Will you be one of these? If you are a cab driver in Fallujah, a Coptic Christian in Egypt, an Assyrian, a Jew, a teacher of Islam in a madrassah, a King in the Middle east, or the President of the United States (being religious does not save anyone, nor does invoking the name "Christian" or Jesus); it is not too late to accept the Lord. (The Lord said He would make a great nation of Ishmael (the progenitor of many Middle Eastern people); He is not done with this work.) True Christians loathe the Clash of Civilizations and wars on religious groups. True Christians LOATHE the war on Islam. It is against every precept of true Christianity. True Christians are fearful of the policies of preemptive war and their awful consequences. Let each individual be persuaded in his own soul. Nations can not be converted by any means, let alone force, only individuals, and then only by the work of the Lord (not by me). No one will win any clash of civilizations. To those who say I favor Israel only- As to all Israel being of the Lord the Bible says - Romans 9:6-7 ...or they are NOT all Israel, which are of Israel: neither because they are the seed of Abraham are they all children.. To those who say I am opposed to the Moslems, I know that Abraham is the Father of many- As to Hagar and her child Ishmael (many Moslem nations) -- Genesis 21:17-18 ...fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. To those who say I am for the Gentiles only- As to the Gentiles -- Romans 11:18 Boast NOT against the branches... There is NO room for pride. This website promises NO ONE a "bloody-end" as some bloggers say. This website encourages you to submit to the Lord. What is true is that the sovereignty of God is impossible for some to understand. These people have difficulty understanding that when we talk about something it does NOT mean we are going to DO anything to bring it to pass, nor do we believe we are ABLE to do anything to bring it to pass, nor we do advocate any ACTION on anyone's part, least of all military action or a societal condemnation of an entire religion. We simply believe that the Lord Himself is going to do what He said He was going to do and NO man can stop it and NO man can cause it. We are just trying to determine if prophesied events align with anything in the infancy of today. Please do not be angry with me for saying the antichrist referred to in the Bible is called the Assyrian. I am simply repeating what the Bible says. Perhaps you prefer that I lie about what the Lord said? I readily admit that I could be wrong in my understanding of current events, but when I repeat what the Bible says, please do not blame the messenger. This study is NOT about ethnicity. This is about what the Bible says. Do no harm to others for religious reasons; if you do, you only are responsible to the Lord. This information is solely for the purpose of getting YOU to go to the Bible yourself before it is too late. To Kings and Presidents - it is not too late to turn to the Lord. To us little people - it is not too late to turn to the Lord. NOBODY is gonna stand before the Lord and plead his ethnicity or religion (not Jews, not Moslems, not Christians) or anything else for that matter. Either you will accept the way of the Lord or you will reject His way. It is up to you. Will you serve men and societal pressures or the Almighty? I might be wrong with this analysis; but the Bible is never wrong. I submit to His Word. Will you? To those who say that it is dangerous to make predictions, I offer these comments. For those of you who get this far - this is not about predicting anything, let alone who the antichrist might be. It is about the nearness of the return of the Lord. It is about showing that current realities have prophetic Biblical possibilites. Don't you care that the Lord is coming soon? Would you not want me to warn you and others that the Lord is coming soon? This is about the real possibilites of the coming of the Day of the Lord. It is about warning you that YOU are going to MEET YOUR MAKER SOON. Are you ready? Regardless of the identity of the antichrist, regardless of anyone's application of the Bible, including my own, YOU are going to be face to face with the Almighty sooner than you think. Question, are YOU so busy saying that I (or anyone else) should not be "making predictions" that you MISS THE ENTIRE POINT here? Jesus Christ is coming soon. Are you too busy PREDICTING THAT HE IS NOT COMING SOON that you are UNWILLING to even look at what is happening? Wake up!! Do you love this world so much that you can't stand the idea that it might be gone soon? Are you too stubborn to entertain the notion that your viewpoint might be incorrect? Are you so religiously stubborn and stale that it is too much for you to open your eyes and ears? No one can know for certainty who the antichrist will be until the tribulation begins. The candidacy of King Abdullah is interesting primarily because the LOCATION of the Biblical endtime political "beast" is in Assyria and the antichrist is described in the Bible as "the Assyrian." (Will the antichrist speak "Assyrian"? I doubt it, probably Arabic and English. Will he be known in the Middle-east as an "Assyrian?" I doubt it.) There are those who are opposed to attempts to identify potential candidates because the candidates themselves could be saved. To this I say- I hope any candidate mentioned reads this page himself and finds the Lord and thus makes me wrong. (I am not wedded to my opinion nor do I hold myself up as any authority. I am just a seeker.) Nothing would be more satisfying than a saved soul making me wrong.. However, nothing I say is going to change the fact that the antichrist is alive and known to the LORD only. Therefore, it is in the hands of God only. I am not inclined to believe that this study is going to change the outcome. If the reader believes any part of this study of the antichrist, will the reader change the outcome? Hardly. This study is to show the nearness of the Lord's Coming and to exhort the believer and non-believer alike to go to the Word of God . So, why oppose a study of this type? This is a study, not some bold assertion. The author believes all of us are wrong and the Word of God is right. I freely admit I am nothing but dirt. I freely admit my ignorance and dependence on the Almighty. Will you? before it is too late? If one man is encouraged to fall into the hands of the Lord as a result of reading of the nearness of His Coming, then praise the Lord. The point here is that there is on earth a man who fits some of the known Biblical criteria and as events unfold this becomes more evident. As the evidence increases, the more likely is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ . Additionally, the point here is the study of Bible prophecy as a whole must present a view that is consistent with all the verses. All the scriptures taken together must tell a unified story. Synthesizing these scriptures as the reality unfolds is the objective here. When we make a mistake, we'll try to correct it. This study could be just plain wrong, only the future will tell us the truth. you for writing, Michael. Are you a regular reader? My
opinion about this has not changed and there was also no
coercion. Michael, I am blind copying several other
readers [so they can get my feelings as well; I only have so much
time and I have 47 unread emails.]
Because
of something I read on the internet last night relative to this
subject I decided to pull the page while I gave it some more
thought. Heretofore, I have had no such inclination to pull the
page in spite of some opposition... I had no idea that (a
significant related event occured today) ... So, I am
especially grateful for your email. Perhaps, the Lord had a
reason for causing me to remove this information last night.
I will
say this - many people are going to be killed in the future events of
Revelation on account of supposed "extremists." There
has always been a delicate balance between telling the truth
and simultaneously avoiding being labelled an "extremist"
(consequently causing damage to the cause of Christ, my only
cause). Many of the things I added to this page were introductory
explanations to avoid such "extremist" labels. It is VERY
difficult to discuss the topic without appearing boastful (to some),
racist (to some), "judgmental" (to some), religiously bigoted (to
some), unnecessarily speculative (to some); I have Christian
friends tell me I should never discuss this topic. I have
resisted them. I have been accused of promoting the very
Clash of Civilizations [because I said the antichrist will be
the Assyrian, exactly what the Bible teaches] against which said Clash
I have stood. It is very difficult to discuss the meat
and potatos of political and religious "clashes" and at the same time
not be seen as promoting them.
The
time is rapidly approaching when "difficult" will be the wrong
word. "Impossible" will be the right
word. Perhaps that time has come; I have not decided
yet.
My only
reason for discussing this topic was to demonstrate the nearness of the
return of the Lord. If i believe i can accomplish BOTH
- provide some help to seekers and avoid damaging the cause of Jesus
Christ, I will put the information back on the net. If
not, I will not put the information back. I will not email the
material to anyone. Either it will be on the net or
unavailable. Suffice it to say, that as I pen these words, it
occurs to me even more so that what I have said could well be true and

End 02-02-2006 02-04-2006 Upon consideration of reaching perhaps the soul of even one person, I have decided to restore the page to its original condition. I wrote the introductory letter at the beginning of the page to demonstrate how close each and everyone of us has been (or is) to being an antichrist. Lest any of us get lifted up in pride, we are forewarned of our own enmity with Christ by the Bible itself (Romans 8:7) The carnal mind is enmity against God.. End 02-04-2006 There are other candidates, but, this one is interestingly close. I may well be wrong, but, there is a lot going on here. The King of Jordan is surely making the rounds lately, in the United States, in Europe, in Russia, and in Japan. He is being widely recommended as a "replacement" for Arafat in the MidEast. Could he be the antichrist? Only time will tell. But, we do know that the antichrist rises in this very region. Or are we looking for a European Community "king" (or ruler)? The antichrist to come is associated with the "ten kings" of Revelation (also the "ten toes" of Nebuchadnezzar's vision in the Book of Daniel). These "ten kings" are generally associated with Europe. However, this does not require the antichrist be from the European Union; nor does it require that the 10 kings be from the EU. Read on. The well-known "ten kings" (of the Book of Revelation) do not receive their kingdoms until late in the game. In fact, they receive "power" for only a short period of time, "one hour." It is also stated that they "GIVE their power and strength unto the beast" (antichrist, who is already functioning in some capacity) and they come to their ultimate power SIMULTANEOUSLY ("receive power as kings ONE HOUR WITH THE BEAST") with the beast (antichrist)." Read this about the Ten Kings . Therefore, the ultimate power of antichrist is not received until the Tribulation is well underway. Verses follow to support this. (The fact that the antichrist receives "power" after the Tribulation is well underway does not preclude the antichrist from "confirming the covenant" at the beginning of the Tribulation as well. The antichrist's power is increased during the middle of the 7-year tribulation. The "ten kings" assume their power at this time also. Therefore, the "ten kings" are not the original sponsor of the antichrist at the beginning of the 7-year tribulation.) Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but RECEIVE POWER AS KINGS ONE HOUR WITH THE BEAST. Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall GIVE THEIR POWER AND STRENGTH UNTO THE BEAST. Strangely enough, when parts of Jordan unite with "Assur" (northern Iraq), then the 10-kinged confederacy arises. Coincidentally, the judgment of Babylon the Great (which takes place DURING the 7 year tribulation, but does not occupy the entire 7 years) lasts "ONE HOUR." (Read Rev 17 and 18). Rev 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in ONE HOUR is thy judgment come. This Babylon the Great is said to be that "great city which reigneth over the kings of the earth." The vast majority of scholars agree that this is Rome, the Vatican hierarchy. School children learn early that Rome sits on seven hills. Since the Book of Revelation was written around 90 AD and since the woman "reigneth" (present tense) over the kings of the earth, this woman must represent Rome. It will be shown that Rome is the original sponsor of the antichrist in another discussion. Rev 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. Therefore, the judgment (destruction) of Babylon the Great, could coincide IN TIME with the UNION of the ten kings and the antichrist and their assumption of power. (More on this later.) Furthermore, since the ten kings receive power WITH the antichrist during a time frame LESS than the full 7 years, the antichrist will not necessarily be a "king" at the beginning of the 7 years, though he could be. Most scholars believe that the destruction of Babylon the Great occurs at or after the midpoint of the 7 years. 07-27-2002The fact that antichrist is sponsored and rises to power by the power of others is made clear here- Daniel 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. Daniel 11:23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people . Correction on 08-17-2002 The use of Daniel 11:23 as a verse applicable to the antichrist is questionable. The reason is that Daniel 11:1-31 was already fulfilled by Antiochus Epiphanes circa 164 BC in the aftermath of Ptolemy and Seleucid wars. Some do say that Antiochus is a "type" of the antichrist, although there is no statement to this effect in the Bible. However, it is difficult to argue with Daniel 8:24, especially considering Daniel 8:25 ("the Prince of princes", Jesus). Consequently, he is not some all powerful king initially. His power could easily be derived from the presence of the mightiest military in the world occupying the Jordan/Iraq territory, the United States military, in a post-Saddam Mideast. In spite of the insistence of many he does not have to come from Europe. End 07-27-2002 In fact, there is nothing in the Bible that mandates that the antichrist come from the European Community. Instead he must come from the PEOPLE of the former Roman Empire. Roman peoples have populated North Africa, the Mediterranean nations, Great Britain, and southern Europe. The essential verse establishing that the antichrist is from what was formerly the Roman Empire is Dan 9:26. Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. "The prince that shall come" is the antichrist. The antichrist is of "the people [that] shall destroy the city." The "city" is Jerusalem and was destroyed by the Roman soldiers in 70 A.D. Therefore, the antichrist is from the “Romans”, NOT the (EC) European Community per se. Part of the EC is included in the Roman Empire, but there are parts of the Roman Empire that are NOT in the EC. To fulfill this prophecy the antichrist does not have to come from the Roman areas, but must be a descendent of Roman peoples. There is additional information in the Bible that seems to indicate that the antichrist arises from Assyria (now the Syria-Jordan area). Syria is one of the four parts into which the empire of Alexander the Great fell. [It is said in Daniel 8:23-25 that the antichrist would come out of one of these parts (horns). Read The Antichrist is from Assyria .] Nine reasons the antichrist is not from Europe. Isa 10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his WHOLE WORK upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria , and the glory of his high looks. Isa 14:25 That I will break the Assyrian in MY land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. -- 07-24-2005 In Daniel 9:26 it says that the "people (Romans) of the prince that shall come" (the antichrist) "shall destroy the city and the sanctuary." This says that the antichrist will be descended from Roman peoples because they DID "destroy the city and the sanctuary" in 70AD. More specifically, there is research on the internet that shows that the Etruscans (who founded Rome) were originally from Assyria. (Some even say that it was Etruscans (actually in Assyria at the time) recruited into the Roman army that actually destroyed the city of Jerusalem in 70AD.) For example Titus' army in Judaea in AD 70 was accompanied by forces of Agrippa II (Palestine), Sohaemus (Emesa) and Antiochus IV (Commagene). http://www.roman-empire.net/army/army.html Antiochus IV was made king of Kommagene by Caligula, who even enlarged his territory but then deposed him almost immediately. We don't know where the Etruscans came from, but archaeologists suspect that they came from the eastern Mediterannean, possibly Asia Minor. http://ancienthistory.about.com The Roman historian Dionysius of Halicarnassus stated that this new culture had deemed themselves Rasenna, or Rasna. One theory of this name is that a large number of immigrants were from Resen, a city in Assyria. Many claim that this means that the antichrist is Jewish. However, since Ishmael (the father of the Moslem nations) is the son of Abraham, it means the antichrist is a semite, one of the semitic nations. End 07-24-2005 01-14-2006 An interesting DNA study is available from a renowned geneticist. The entire study is most informative on many levels and is worth reading. "The History and Geography of Human Genes"1, published in 1994, and
the abridged version in 19962, took on
the monumental task of analyzing the vast number of research articles
written about genetic properties of different human populations. The
senior author, Prof. L.L. Cavalli-Sforza, Professor of Genetics at
Stanford University, is considered one of the preeminent human
population geneticists in the world, a field that he has been working
in for over forty years. After eight years of
collecting this massive information, the authors spent several more
years doing the genetic and statistical analyses using sophisticated
computer methods. The
objective was nothing less than to define the
genetic variations in the entire human population of the world and,
from that information, to trace the origin and migration of modern
humans to their present locations on the planet (hence the
"History and Geography" in the
title). As the American Journal of Human Genetics stated, "This book
represents a landmark in
biology. There is nothing
of its
kind... where the evolutionary
history of a single species possessing a cosmopolitan distribution is
distilled from genetic, morphological, and cultural data. It represents
an essential historical source for all human biologists ... " And as
the New York Times said, "Perhaps more than anyone else in his field,
Dr. Cavalli-Sforza ... has been able to make sense of the whisperings
of human ancestors that
are recorded in the genes of present-day people."
The author of the webpage is Dr. Elias of the University of California School of Medicine. The title of the webpage is The Genetics of Modern Assyrians and their Relationship to Other People of the Middle East. Quoting the article (emphasis added)- The
closest genetic relationships of the Assyrians are with the native
populations of Jordan and Iraq. In
point of fact, however, all of
the seven populations of interest are quite close to each other. There
are no wide separations between any of them. This despite the
fact that they contain members of three major language families:
Indo-European (Iranian, Kurdish), Turkic (Turkish) and Semitic (Iraqi,
Jordanian, Lebanese - Arabic; Assyrian - Aramaic). As the authors
state, "In spite of the complex history of the Middle East and the
great number of internal group migrations revealed by history, as well
as the mosaic of cultures and languages, the region is relatively
homogeneous" [genetically]. The least heterogeneous zone of Asia
"is observed in the Near East, where the highest population densities
have existed the longest, especially in the central part (Mesopotamia).
Ten thousand years of agriculture, ancient urban developments, and
internal migrations are probably responsible for this homogeneity."
Thus, in that part of the world with the most ancient civilizations, an
underlying genetic homogeneity has been "masked" by great cultural,
religious and linguistic heterogeneity. ..
What may
one conclude from such
a study? One thing is for certain,
Jordanians and Iraqis are closley related and the most closely related
genetically to the modern Assyrians (lending credibility to our
hypothesis that the Assyrian antichrist will come from
Jordan/Iraq). However, there is a lot more forthcoming in this
region. One must keep in mind that traditionally the Assyrians
have been persecuted by the Islamists and many of them are Christians,
in fact, many of them were the "original" Christians (they were called
Christians
first in Antioch).In striking contrast, there was an "extremely close affinity of Jewish and non-Jewish Middle Eastern populations [Palestinians, Syrians, Lebanese, Druze, Saudi Arabians] observed here ...[that] supports the hypothesis of a common Middle Eastern origin" of these populations dating back about 4,000 years. [can you hear the voices of Abraham and Sarah "whispering?"] The differences between the populations were not statistically significant, demonstrating once again the close genetic relationship of Middle Eastern populations to each other. In fact, the Palestinians and Syrians were so close to the Jews in genetic characteristics that they "mapped within the central cluster of Jewish populations." There is today a leader who could potentially fulfill both these prophecies (a descendent of Roman peoples, i.e., Etruscan/Assyrian on his mother's side and from Middle-eastern Jordanian "Assyrian" lineage on his father's side, see study by Dr. Cavalli-Sforza). His mother, Antoinette Gardiner, is from Britain, and he is therefore descended from the Romans (Etruscans) who occupied Britain. Prince Hassan's Mother - Her Majesty Queen Zein al-Sharaf was one of the strongest pillars of the Jordanian monarchy and a highly intelligent women. She is remembered for her pioneering efforts in charitable works, and her support for women’s rights. The late Queen Mother was born in Egypt on August 2, 1916 and married King Talal bin Abdullah in 1934, with whom she bore three sons and a daughter; His Majesty King Hussein, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad, His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan and Her Royal Highness Princess Basma. " BUT, and perhaps this MAY be the biggest issue- In the New Testament, the genealogy of BOTH Joseph and Mary are given. They are both considered important. So, I would think that this would be true of the antichrist as well, though this is not absolute. It is only my opinion. Scriptures mean everything. Opinions mean nothing. The scripture says that “the PEOPLE of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city…” The destruction refers to that of Jerusalem by the Romans. The King’s mother was BRITISH, making her a “Roman.” However, the Prince’s mother was apparently Egyptian. On this count, I would, therefore, lean to the King. If I were forced to guess, between the King or the Prince, I’d go with the King. However, Prince Hassan is VERY interesting and I would NOT be surprised if this were to end up being the case (allowing room somehow for Prince Hassan to be of “Roman” descent or some other reconciliation be made of this verse). The French daily Le Monde quoted former Jordanian parliament member Toujan al-Faisal as saying the US was the one who recommended that King Hussein take a decision concerning the title of crown prince. Al-Faisal asserted that this is the case because Prince Hassan "has not the same loyalty shown by King Hussein" to the United States Le Monde added that Jordan is a major player in settling the cause of Palestine . According to Jordanian political circles, the six months the king spent in medical treatment abroad gave him the chance to think thoroughly about the future of Jordan. Jordanian political sources said the King told one of his visitors in Washington two months earlier that he was not satisfied with the way the state's affairs were being run during his absence and that he intended to make vast changes in a framework of comprehensive revisions of conditions . King Hussein arrived in Amman on Tuesday in his private plane after a six-month absence. He announced just minutes after his arrival that he will make "reforms in the interests of the Jordanians. " Jordanian political sources told the London-based al-Hayat daily that the decision providing for appointing one of the King's sons as crown prince instead of his youngest brother, Hassan, is the first step toward a vast road of reforms aimed at making Jordanian citizens satisfied with their short and long-term futures. After a series of complaints found their way to King Hussein back in the US, he started to contemplate a drastic move as soon as he could . He prepared himself for the decision long before he returned to Amman. In light of the latest developments in Jordan, many leading figures are expected to disappear from the political arena . Others will restore their old glory like former prime minister Abdul Karim Kabariti who was forced to quit his job against the background of serious differences with Prince Hassan Commentary- The late King Hussein and the United States were assuredly allies for decades. The removal of Hassan and his replacement with Abdullah may be viewed as a victory for the United States over the other faction trying to control power in Jordan. The United States plan to redraw the Mideastern map and make a palestinian substitute which can make a "peace" with Israel is seriously enhanced by making Abdullah the Crown Prince (and now King). It may be inferred from the fact that Hassan is President of the Club of Rome that the other faction is the Vatican. Since there is apparently a struggle to determine who will rule the coming political beast in the Mideast, it is no wonder that it is reported in the Bible that the antichrist will "have a wound by a sword and live ." (See Things To Come by Dwight Pentecost, 1958, page 336; an outstanding book on prophecy, maybe the best). Those that take this position (including Pentecost) say that the kingdom, not the king, is "resurrected" However, on page 337 of the same book , Pentecost says that the false prophet "compels the earth to worship the first beast as God (Rev 13:12) ." A close look at this verse (Rev 13:12) shows that when the false prophet "which causeth the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast", he does so at a time after the healing of a deadly wound - "whose deadly wound was healed " (Rev 13:12) Therefore, the false prophet "causeth the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast whose deadly wound was healed " This verse argues strongly for a resurrection. However, we do know for a certainty that the eventual antichrist appears in the temple showing himself to BE God at the midpoint of the tribulation. See this outline . Whether or not he is going to be supported by a resurrection is debatable. However, I tend toward that he IS resurrected. Here's another reason. Rev 11:7 When they (God's 2 witnesses) shall have finished their testimony (which is clearly during the first half of the tribulation ) the beast that ASCENDETH out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. This was the impression that Jordan’s King Abdallah II gave the other day during an informal breakfast with some journalists at Davos, Switzerland. “It would take a miracle to prevent war, now,” the king said. As a military man he knows that one cannot bring a quarter of a million troops from the other side of the world and then take them back without having changed the status quo. “Whatever we might do to prevent war may now prove to be too little, too late,” he said. Apart from Iraq itself, no country is likely to be as affected by the looming war than Jordan. Jordan gets all of its oil needs, some 90,000 barrels a day, from Iraq at cut-rate prices. It also earns almost $1 billion a year from exports and transit rights to Iraq. Jordan is also home to an estimated 400,000 Iraqis whose lives are bound to change whatever the outcome of the war. It is obvious that the young king has pondered his options with care. One option was to imitate his late father, King Hussein, and publicly stand on the side of Iraq’s President Saddam Hussein. But the young king knows that it took Jordan five difficult years before it repaired the damage done to its relations with the United States, and its moderate Arab allies, in the 1990s. That option is even less attractive for another reason. In 1991 when King Hussein sided with Iraq there was no question of a regime change in Iraq. Thus the late king could partly compensate his losses on the side of the Americans, and the moderate Arabs, by obtaining concessions from the Iraqi leader. This time, if there is war, it will not end until there is a new regime in Baghdad. There is, therefore, no reason why Jordan should back a horse that is sure to lose. The second option was for Jordan to play a double game; that is to say be against the war in public but actively take part in it behind the scenes. That option, too, was unattractive for two reasons. First, something like taking part in a war, in one way or another, cannot be kept secret for long. At the same time, the eventual victor is unlikely to respect an ally who tried to hedge its bets. Anyone who watched the Jordanian king at Davos these past few days would notice the popularity he enjoys within the global elite. “ From out point of view, he is the perfect Muslim head of state,” says Professor Karl Schwab, the founder of the World Economic Forum. Not surprisingly, the young king and his wife, Queen Rania, have become permanent features of the forum and presented as “representatives of the Muslim world.” In fact, Queen Rania has just been named a member of the permanent council of the forum. The king has chosen what he regards as the best option not only for Jordan but also for the Arabs as a whole. If and, as it now seems when, the war comes, the Hashemite kingdom will be on the side of the US-led coalition. In exchange, Jordan seeks more than mere kudos in Washington. The US has already arranged for Kuwait to supply Jordan with the oil it needs to replace the Iraqi supplies that might be cut off for a while. Washington has also increased its military aid for this year, from $75 to $450 million. In addition, agreement has been reached in principle to compensate Jordan for losses it might sustain for the duration of the campaign to change the Iraqi regime. Jordan is demanding more, especially in political terms. It wants to have a say in shaping the future regime in Baghdad. The king expects the Americans to establish military rule for a maximum of two years during which Iraqi political parties and personalities will prepare the draft of a new constitution. The king wants the option of restoring monarchy in Baghdad to be one of the choices offered to the Iraqi people in a constitutional referendum. The hope is that, if the Iraqis vote for restoration, a member of the Hashemite family will be placed on the throne. But even if monarchy is not restored, it is clear that the future Iraqi regime would regard Jordan as its closest friend and ally, if only because it is one of the few Arab states to take side in favor of change in Baghdad. But, perhaps, the biggest concession that Jordan appears to have obtained from Washington, in exchange for its support, is a promise to work for the establishment of a Palestinian state by the end of 2005. The king has hammered in one key message: The new Middle East, of which President George W. Bush has been talking, will not be possible without a Palestinian state on the map. Jordan’s choice may draw the ire of self-styled Pan-Arabists. But the tiny desert kingdom is practicing the only version of power politics it is capable of. It has chosen to strengthen its strategic alliance with the United States and Britain. He bluntly told colleagues that Israel could not maintain its military occupation of Palestinians indefinitely.
