An Open Letter to All Leaders, Kings, Religionists, and Supporters of the So-Called Coming "Peace" 02-04-2006
Ladies and Gentlemen,
There will be a peace, but, only after the prince of peace, the Lord Jesus Christ, returns physically to the earth to rule and reign.
In the interim, the Bible says that there is going to be a false man-made peace followed by a calamity lasting 7 seven years. Specifically the Bible states "when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." (1 Thess 5:3) The world's citizens have attempted world unity previously and it failed (Gen 11:9). The Bible says that the present attempt will also fail.
Having personally attempted my own "devices" and having experienced the fruit of my own works, I confess to failure and the utter uselessness of my own self initiated attempts at being in charge. Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it... (Psa 127:1) is the warning of the scripture. We are not to invoke God's blessing upon our own plans, however noble they may appear. We are to allow the Lord to change us. Only then can a man do the work of the Lord.
Whoever the prince that shall come is, he will think like this (according to the Bible). My suggestion is you read this link - it is a warning to all of us. All of us are subject to the same self deceptions. If you read the preceding link, you realize that our heart contains elements that the Lord wants to root out because our heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked , who can know it? (Jer 17:9) The Biblical prince that shall come is unaware of what is actually in his heart, just like the rest of us. Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy... (Isa 10:7). Invoking the name of the Lord does not and will not validate our actions in the eyes of the Lord. I speak from personal experience and personal failure. None of us are immune.
The prince that shall come has other titles in the Bible. One of these titles is antichrist. In spite of public perception to the contrary, the Biblical character is not a devil with horns running around doing evil because he believes evil is the thing to do. The Biblical character, as we have shown above, believes he is doing "good." The problem is that (just like the rest of us) when a man (unchanged by the Lord's deep-in-the-heart dealings, effectively emptying the man's heart, Psa 139:23-24) takes matters into his own hands, a disaster results. Herein lies the problem. The Biblical prince, antichrist, is effectively acting against Christ (without even realizing his error) while trying to do the "right" thing. The prince will then be used by his real (but unknown) boss whose proclamation, I will be LIKE the most high (Isa 14:14), attests to the fact that no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed into the ministers of righteousness; (2 Cor 11:14-15). In the eyes of the world's inhabitants, whose hearts have not been radically smitten by the Almighty, the prince will be a man celebrated as the epitome of all that a good, decent, moral, peaceful, "moderate", and well-intentioned man should aspire to being. From the world's viewpoint, the prince will be a wonderful man with admirable goals and abilities to meet them!!
Which brings me to my question. Whose approbation do YOU desire? The Lord Jesus Christ or the world? Men or the Almighty (el Shaddai)?
It is time for all of us to choose. Choose wisely. If you choose wrongly, you will be serving the one who desires to be LIKE the most high, the angel of light.
Please give up your pride and submit to the Lord today. Submission to the Lord is the only action I ask you to make. You can not stop the prophecies of God nor can you bring them to pass. It is all in God's hands.
This website does not seek to be in the limelight, has never been advertised, promoted, marketed, etc. We have no interest in "hits." We are here only for those few "seekers" who are left, who wait and "watch" for the return of Jesus Christ. If the Lord wants to bring someone here, we leave that up to Him. The vast majority of even nominal Christians have little interest in the second coming or in taking a serious look at true salvation.
Warning: What good does it do you if you understand all there is to know about prophecy (or any religion of any kind) and you are LOST? I encourage all - Muslim, Jew, Gentile, Protestant, Catholic to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He stands at the door and knocks. What is your answer? We know that the Bible says many will be saved into eternity. Will you be one of these? If you are a cab driver in Fallujah, a Coptic Christian in Egypt, an Assyrian, a Jew, a teacher of Islam in a madrassah, a King in the Middle east, or the President of the United States (being religious does not save anyone, nor does invoking the name "Christian" or Jesus); it is not too late to accept the Lord. (The Lord said He would make a great nation of Ishmael (the progenitor of many Middle Eastern people); He is not done with this work.) True Christians loathe the Clash of Civilizations and wars on religious groups. True Christians LOATHE the war on Islam. It is against every precept of true Christianity. True Christians are fearful of the policies of preemptive war and their awful consequences. Let each individual be persuaded in his own soul. Nations can not be converted by any means, let alone force, only individuals, and then only by the work of the Lord (not by me). No one will win any clash of civilizations.
To those who say I favor Israel only- As to all Israel being of the Lord the Bible says - Romans 9:6-7 ...or they are NOT all Israel, which are of Israel: neither because they are the seed of Abraham are they all children..
To those who say I am opposed to the Moslems, I know that Abraham is the Father of many- As to Hagar and her child Ishmael (many Moslem nations) -- Genesis 21:17-18 ...fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
To those who say I am for the Gentiles only- As to the Gentiles -- Romans 11:18 Boast NOT against the branches... There is NO room for pride.
This website promises NO ONE a "bloody-end" as some bloggers say. This website encourages you to submit to the Lord.
What is true is that the sovereignty of God is impossible for some to understand. These people have difficulty understanding that when we talk about something it does NOT mean we are going to DO anything to bring it to pass, nor do we believe we are ABLE to do anything to bring it to pass, nor we do advocate any ACTION on anyone's part, least of all military action or a societal condemnation of an entire religion. We simply believe that the Lord Himself is going to do what He said He was going to do and NO man can stop it and NO man can cause it. We are just trying to determine if prophesied events align with anything in the infancy of today. Please do not be angry with me for saying the antichrist referred to in the Bible is called the Assyrian. I am simply repeating what the Bible says. Perhaps you prefer that I lie about what the Lord said? I readily admit that I could be wrong in my understanding of current events, but when I repeat what the Bible says, please do not blame the messenger. This study is NOT about ethnicity. This is about what the Bible says. Do no harm to others for religious reasons; if you do, you only are responsible to the Lord. This information is solely for the purpose of getting YOU to go to the Bible yourself before it is too late. To Kings and Presidents - it is not too late to turn to the Lord. To us little people - it is not too late to turn to the Lord. NOBODY is gonna stand before the Lord and plead his ethnicity or religion (not Jews, not Moslems, not Christians) or anything else for that matter. Either you will accept the way of the Lord or you will reject His way. It is up to you. Will you serve men and societal pressures or the Almighty?
I might be wrong with this analysis; but the Bible is never wrong. I submit to His Word. Will you?
To those who say that it is dangerous to make predictions, I offer these comments. For those of you who get this far - this is not about predicting anything, let alone who the antichrist might be. It is about the nearness of the return of the Lord. It is about showing that current realities have prophetic Biblical possibilites. Don't you care that the Lord is coming soon? Would you not want me to warn you and others that the Lord is coming soon? This is about the real possibilites of the coming of the Day of the Lord. It is about warning you that YOU are going to MEET YOUR MAKER SOON. Are you ready? Regardless of the identity of the antichrist, regardless of anyone's application of the Bible, including my own, YOU are going to be face to face with the Almighty sooner than you think. Question, are YOU so busy saying that I (or anyone else) should not be "making predictions" that you MISS THE ENTIRE POINT here? Jesus Christ is coming soon. Are you too busy PREDICTING THAT HE IS NOT COMING SOON that you are UNWILLING to even look at what is happening? Wake up!! Do you love this world so much that you can't stand the idea that it might be gone soon? Are you too stubborn to entertain the notion that your viewpoint might be incorrect? Are you so religiously stubborn and stale that it is too much for you to open your eyes and ears?
No one can know for certainty who the antichrist will be until the tribulation begins. The candidacy of King Abdullah is interesting primarily because the LOCATION of the Biblical endtime political "beast" is in Assyria and the antichrist is described in the Bible as "the Assyrian." (Will the antichrist speak "Assyrian"? I doubt it, probably Arabic and English. Will he be known in the Middle-east as an "Assyrian?" I doubt it.)
There are those who are opposed to attempts to identify potential candidates because the candidates themselves could be saved. To this I say- I hope any candidate mentioned reads this page himself and finds the Lord and thus makes me wrong. (I am not wedded to my opinion nor do I hold myself up as any authority. I am just a seeker.) Nothing would be more satisfying than a saved soul making me wrong.. However, nothing I say is going to change the fact that the antichrist is alive and known to the LORD only. Therefore, it is in the hands of God only. I am not inclined to believe that this study is going to change the outcome. If the reader believes any part of this study of the antichrist, will the reader change the outcome? Hardly. This study is to show the nearness of the Lord's Coming and to exhort the believer and non-believer alike to go to the Word of God . So, why oppose a study of this type? This is a study, not some bold assertion. The author believes all of us are wrong and the Word of God is right. I freely admit I am nothing but dirt. I freely admit my ignorance and dependence on the Almighty. Will you? before it is too late? If one man is encouraged to fall into the hands of the Lord as a result of reading of the nearness of His Coming, then praise the Lord.
The point here is that there is on earth a man who fits some of the known Biblical criteria and as events unfold this becomes more evident. As the evidence increases, the more likely is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ . Additionally, the point here is the study of Bible prophecy as a whole must present a view that is consistent with all the verses. All the scriptures taken together must tell a unified story. Synthesizing these scriptures as the reality unfolds is the objective here. When we make a mistake, we'll try to correct it. This study could be just plain wrong, only the future will tell us the truth. Read all the links to related topics and see if it could be possible that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is unfolding before our eyes.
Yesterday I took all the text off this page [including my lengthy and detailed study of who I believe the antichrist to be] and left it blank. The title was changed to This Page Left Blank Purposefully. Upon doing this I received the following email.
I would like to examine your opinion concerning ____.Will you please send me your opinion via email attachment?
... and my cause for interest.
Thank you for your attention.
Thank you for writing, Michael. Are you a regular reader? My opinion about this has not changed and there was also no coercion. Michael, I am blind copying several other readers [so they can get my feelings as well; I only have so much time and I have 47 unread emails.]
Because of something I read on the internet last night relative to this subject I decided to pull the page while I gave it some more thought. Heretofore, I have had no such inclination to pull the page in spite of some opposition... I had no idea that (a significant related event occured today) ... So, I am especially grateful for your email. Perhaps, the Lord had a reason for causing me to remove this information last night.
I will say this - many people are going to be killed in the future events of Revelation on account of supposed "extremists." There has always been a delicate balance between telling the truth and simultaneously avoiding being labelled an "extremist" (consequently causing damage to the cause of Christ, my only cause). Many of the things I added to this page were introductory explanations to avoid such "extremist" labels. It is VERY difficult to discuss the topic without appearing boastful (to some), racist (to some), "judgmental" (to some), religiously bigoted (to some), unnecessarily speculative (to some); I have Christian friends tell me I should never discuss this topic. I have resisted them. I have been accused of promoting the very Clash of Civilizations [because I said the antichrist will be the Assyrian, exactly what the Bible teaches] against which said Clash I have stood. It is very difficult to discuss the meat and potatos of political and religious "clashes" and at the same time not be seen as promoting them.
The time is rapidly approaching when "difficult" will be the wrong word. "Impossible" will be the right word. Perhaps that time has come; I have not decided yet.
My only reason for discussing this topic was to demonstrate the nearness of the return of the Lord. If i believe i can accomplish BOTH - provide some help to seekers and avoid damaging the cause of Jesus Christ, I will put the information back on the net. If not, I will not put the information back. I will not email the material to anyone. Either it will be on the net or unavailable. Suffice it to say, that as I pen these words, it occurs to me even more so that what I have said could well be true and it may soon come to fruition.
Pray for me and God bless you,
P.S. Just so you know some of the difficulties, Michael, how would I be able to tell if you were an enemy bent on promoting the "extremist" label (instead of being a seeker)?
Upon consideration of reaching perhaps the soul of even one person, I have decided to restore the page to its original condition. I wrote the introductory letter at the beginning of the page to demonstrate how close each and everyone of us has been (or is) to being an antichrist. Lest any of us get lifted up in pride, we are forewarned of our own enmity with Christ by the Bible itself (Romans 8:7) The carnal mind is enmity against God..
There are other candidates, but, this one is interestingly close. I may well be wrong, but, there is a lot going on here.
The King of Jordan is surely making the rounds lately, in the United States, in Europe, in Russia, and in Japan. He is being widely recommended as a "replacement" for Arafat in the MidEast. Could he be the antichrist? Only time will tell. But, we do know that the antichrist rises in this very region. Or are we looking for a European Community "king" (or ruler)? The antichrist to come is associated with the "ten kings" of Revelation (also the "ten toes" of Nebuchadnezzar's vision in the Book of Daniel). These "ten kings" are generally associated with Europe. However, this does not require the antichrist be from the European Union; nor does it require that the 10 kings be from the EU. Read on.
The well-known "ten kings" (of the Book of Revelation) do not receive their kingdoms until late in the game. In fact, they receive "power" for only a short period of time, "one hour." It is also stated that they "GIVE their power and strength unto the beast" (antichrist, who is already functioning in some capacity) and they come to their ultimate power SIMULTANEOUSLY ("receive power as kings ONE HOUR WITH THE BEAST") with the beast (antichrist)." Read this about the Ten Kings . Therefore, the ultimate power of antichrist is not received until the Tribulation is well underway. Verses follow to support this. (The fact that the antichrist receives "power" after the Tribulation is well underway does not preclude the antichrist from "confirming the covenant" at the beginning of the Tribulation as well. The antichrist's power is increased during the middle of the 7-year tribulation. The "ten kings" assume their power at this time also. Therefore, the "ten kings" are not the original sponsor of the antichrist at the beginning of the 7-year tribulation.)
Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but RECEIVE POWER AS KINGS ONE HOUR WITH THE BEAST.
Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall GIVE THEIR POWER AND STRENGTH UNTO THE BEAST.
Strangely enough, when parts of Jordan unite with "Assur" (northern Iraq), then the 10-kinged confederacy arises.
Coincidentally, the judgment of Babylon the Great (which takes place DURING the 7 year tribulation, but does not occupy the entire 7 years) lasts "ONE HOUR." (Read Rev 17 and 18).
Rev 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in ONE HOUR is thy judgment come.
This Babylon the Great is said to be that "great city which reigneth over the kings of the earth." The vast majority of scholars agree that this is Rome, the Vatican hierarchy. School children learn early that Rome sits on seven hills. Since the Book of Revelation was written around 90 AD and since the woman "reigneth" (present tense) over the kings of the earth, this woman must represent Rome. It will be shown that Rome is the original sponsor of the antichrist in another discussion.
Rev 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
Therefore, the judgment (destruction) of Babylon the Great, could coincide IN TIME with the UNION of the ten kings and the antichrist and their assumption of power. (More on this later.) Furthermore, since the ten kings receive power WITH the antichrist during a time frame LESS than the full 7 years, the antichrist will not necessarily be a "king" at the beginning of the 7 years, though he could be. Most scholars believe that the destruction of Babylon the Great occurs at or after the midpoint of the 7 years.
07-27-2002The fact that antichrist is sponsored and rises to power by the power of others is made clear here-
Daniel 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
Daniel 11:23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people .
Correction on 08-17-2002
The use of Daniel 11:23 as a verse applicable to the antichrist is questionable. The reason is that Daniel 11:1-31 was already fulfilled by Antiochus Epiphanes circa 164 BC in the aftermath of Ptolemy and Seleucid wars. Some do say that Antiochus is a "type" of the antichrist, although there is no statement to this effect in the Bible. However, it is difficult to argue with Daniel 8:24, especially considering Daniel 8:25 ("the Prince of princes", Jesus).
Consequently, he is not some all powerful king initially. His power could easily be derived from the presence of the mightiest military in the world occupying the Jordan/Iraq territory, the United States military, in a post-Saddam Mideast. In spite of the insistence of many he does not have to come from Europe.
In fact, there is nothing in the Bible that mandates that the antichrist come from the European Community. Instead he must come from the PEOPLE of the former Roman Empire. Roman peoples have populated North Africa, the Mediterranean nations, Great Britain, and southern Europe. The essential verse establishing that the antichrist is from what was formerly the Roman Empire is Dan 9:26.
Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
"The prince that shall come" is the antichrist. The antichrist is of "the people [that] shall destroy the city." The "city" is Jerusalem and was destroyed by the Roman soldiers in 70 A.D. Therefore, the antichrist is from the “Romans”, NOT the (EC) European Community per se. Part of the EC is included in the Roman Empire, but there are parts of the Roman Empire that are NOT in the EC. To fulfill this prophecy the antichrist does not have to come from the Roman areas, but must be a descendent of Roman peoples. There is additional information in the Bible that seems to indicate that the antichrist arises from Assyria (now the Syria-Jordan area). Syria is one of the four parts into which the empire of Alexander the Great fell. [It is said in Daniel 8:23-25 that the antichrist would come out of one of these parts (horns). Read The Antichrist is from Assyria .] Nine reasons the antichrist is not from Europe.
Isa 10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his WHOLE WORK upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria , and the glory of his high looks.
Isa 14:25 That I will break the Assyrian in MY land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
In Daniel 9:26 it says that the "people (Romans) of the prince that shall come" (the antichrist) "shall destroy the city and the sanctuary." This says that the antichrist will be descended from Roman peoples because they DID "destroy the city and the sanctuary" in 70AD. More specifically, there is research on the internet that shows that the Etruscans (who founded Rome) were originally from Assyria. (Some even say that it was Etruscans (actually in Assyria at the time) recruited into the Roman army that actually destroyed the city of Jerusalem in 70AD.)
For example Titus' army in Judaea in AD 70 was accompanied by forces of Agrippa II (Palestine), Sohaemus (Emesa) and Antiochus IV (Commagene).
Antiochus IV was made king of Kommagene by Caligula, who even enlarged his territory but then deposed him almost immediately. Restored by Claudius in 41, he reigned until 72 as an ally of Rome against Parthia
Kommagene (Latin: Commagene) was a small kingdom, located in modern south-central Turkey, with its capital at Samosata (modern Samsat, near the Euphrates). It was first mentioned in Assyrian texts as Kummuhu, which was normally an ally of Assyria, but eventually annexed as province in 708 BC under Sargon II.
the Etruscans, seem to have sailed from Asia Minor to found a state in the forest wildernesses of middle Italy; some built themselves cities upon the south-east coasts of the Mediterranean and became later that people known in history as the Philistines. http://www.bartleby.com/86/18.html
Somewhere between 900 and 800 BC, the Italian peninsula was settled by a mysterious peoples called the Etruscans. We don't know where the Etruscans came from, but archaeologists suspect that they came from the eastern Mediterannean, possibly Asia Minor. http://ancienthistory.about.com
The Roman historian Dionysius of Halicarnassus stated that this new culture had deemed themselves Rasenna, or Rasna. One theory of this name is that a large number of immigrants were from Resen, a city in Assyria. Their route is believed to have taken them from Assyria to a place called Eluthya in Egypt, where there are supposedly tomb decorations that are similar to the Etruscans. http://www.vintageadventure.com/flash/history/default.asp
In Daniel 11:37 it says "neither shall he regard the God of his fathers". Many claim that this means that the antichrist is Jewish. However, since Ishmael (the father of the Moslem nations) is the son of Abraham, it means the antichrist is a semite, one of the semitic nations.
An interesting DNA study is available from a renowned geneticist. The entire study is most informative on many levels and is worth reading. We will consider only a couple of issues.
The authors of the book "The History and Geography of Human Genes"1, published in 1994, and the abridged version in 19962, took on the monumental task of analyzing the vast number of research articles written about genetic properties of different human populations. The senior author, Prof. L.L. Cavalli-Sforza, Professor of Genetics at Stanford University, is considered one of the preeminent human population geneticists in the world, a field that he has been working in for over forty years. After eight years of collecting this massive information, the authors spent several more years doing the genetic and statistical analyses using sophisticated computer methods. The objective was nothing less than to define the genetic variations in the entire human population of the world and, from that information, to trace the origin and migration of modern humans to their present locations on the planet (hence the "History and Geography" in the title). As the American Journal of Human Genetics stated, "This book represents a landmark in biology. There is nothing of its kind... where the evolutionary history of a single species possessing a cosmopolitan distribution is distilled from genetic, morphological, and cultural data. It represents an essential historical source for all human biologists ... " And as the New York Times said, "Perhaps more than anyone else in his field, Dr. Cavalli-Sforza ... has been able to make sense of the whisperings of human ancestors that are recorded in the genes of present-day people."
The author of the webpage is Dr. Elias of the University of California School of Medicine. The title of the webpage is The Genetics of Modern Assyrians and their Relationship to Other People of the Middle East.
Quoting the article (emphasis added)-
The closest genetic relationships of the Assyrians are with the native populations of Jordan and Iraq. In point of fact, however, all of the seven populations of interest are quite close to each other. There are no wide separations between any of them. This despite the fact that they contain members of three major language families: Indo-European (Iranian, Kurdish), Turkic (Turkish) and Semitic (Iraqi, Jordanian, Lebanese - Arabic; Assyrian - Aramaic). As the authors state, "In spite of the complex history of the Middle East and the great number of internal group migrations revealed by history, as well as the mosaic of cultures and languages, the region is relatively homogeneous" [genetically]. The least heterogeneous zone of Asia "is observed in the Near East, where the highest population densities have existed the longest, especially in the central part (Mesopotamia). Ten thousand years of agriculture, ancient urban developments, and internal migrations are probably responsible for this homogeneity." Thus, in that part of the world with the most ancient civilizations, an underlying genetic homogeneity has been "masked" by great cultural, religious and linguistic heterogeneity. ..What may one conclude from such a study? One thing is for certain, Jordanians and Iraqis are closley related and the most closely related genetically to the modern Assyrians (lending credibility to our hypothesis that the Assyrian antichrist will come from Jordan/Iraq). However, there is a lot more forthcoming in this region. One must keep in mind that traditionally the Assyrians have been persecuted by the Islamists and many of them are Christians, in fact, many of them were the "original" Christians (they were called Christians first in Antioch).
In striking contrast, there was an "extremely close affinity of Jewish and non-Jewish Middle Eastern populations [Palestinians, Syrians, Lebanese, Druze, Saudi Arabians] observed here ...[that] supports the hypothesis of a common Middle Eastern origin" of these populations dating back about 4,000 years. [can you hear the voices of Abraham and Sarah "whispering?"]
The differences between the populations were not statistically significant, demonstrating once again the close genetic relationship of Middle Eastern populations to each other. In fact, the Palestinians and Syrians were so close to the Jews in genetic characteristics that they "mapped within the central cluster of Jewish populations." As one of the Israeli scientists on the team said, "Eventually people will realize that they are not that different." [can you hear the voices of Ishmael and Isaac "whispering?"]...
The results of these scientific studies lead to the startling realization that Turks, Iranians, Kurds, Iraqis, Jordanians, Lebanese are more closely related genetically to Assyrians than they are to other members of their own respective language families in Asia. These seven groups (and Jews) are genetically close. The great language, cultural and religious differences are not reflected in the most fundamental aspect of their biology - their genes, which are the most accurate indicators of their shared origins and ancestry.
Since it is becoming evident that the strategy of manipulation of the Kurds/Islamists against the so-called Assyrians has already begun, we are merely pointing out that such a manipulation is based on a genetic absurdity. The manipulation has gone to to the extreme of attributing the problem to "certain pressure groups in the West who are deeply interested in reviving and promoting the ancient Christian heritage in the traditional Kurdish territories".
By the way, that pressure group referenced in the link above just happens to be jesus-is-the-way.com (I can not stop laughing at such an inane notion; read my comments on the link.) This blatant manipulation is made more inflammatory toward the Islamists by not only engendering hatred toward the Assyrians, but also, toward Christians. The sensationalistic message to the Islamist is that Assyrian Christianity may take root in the Kurdish region and it must be stopped. I am not the only one who finds the article manipulative. Recently, on an Assyrian Forum(http://www.aina.org/bbs/index.cgi), I found this quote regarding the same article- I see a little bit of manipulation (and it is not something new) that he also want the Assyrians to now engage at sparring with the Kurds over our ancient lands.
Do you not find it interesting that the so-called "disputed territory" (our ancient lands) happens to be the place of origin of the Magog invaders? Friends, this Magog invasion is going to be, perhaps, one of the biggest manipulative events in history. The manipulation we are discussing is just the beginning of what will culminate in the Magog invasion (and people are going to believe that it is the defeat of the antichrist!!). Let these words soak in - Be thou prepared (by another) - Eze 38:7. Right now, we are preparing commando troops in the northern Mesopotamia.
There is today a leader who could potentially fulfill both these prophecies (a descendent of Roman peoples, i.e., Etruscan/Assyrian on his mother's side and from Middle-eastern Jordanian "Assyrian" lineage on his father's side, see study by Dr. Cavalli-Sforza). His mother, Antoinette Gardiner, is from Britain, and he is therefore descended from the Romans (Etruscans) who occupied Britain. He also has Assyrian lineage (see above study showing common Assyrian heritage throughout the middle east, the most common of Assyrian genetics being from Jordan/Iraq)) because he is presently the King Of Jordan, King Abdullah Hussein, a “direct descendent of the 43rd generation of the Prophet Mohammad.” He is also looked upon by moderate Muslims as the al-Mahdi, the eschatological saviour to Islam.
If you read the New York Times article cited earlier, you found that King Abdullah is expected to “ hold talks with Mr. Bush on the next steps in forcing Mr. Arafat to rein in extremists and keep a lid on suicide bombings .”
The location of the Beast Empire of the antichrist is described here. This makes the candidacy of Abdullah even more probable. It could be another "Assyrian", time will tell for sure. However, "confirmation" of the peace program is the number one attribute of the coming prince of the Bible. The prince is seen "confirming" for seven years. This study documents much of the preliminary "confirmation."
It is now (10-12-2002) being openly reported in the media that a US military occupation will occur in Iraq.
From A Gift of Prophecy, the Phenomenal Jeane Dixon , by Ruth Montgomery published by Bantam Books of New York in 1965 we read the following from pg 179,
Three nights before Jeane’s vision [of February 5, 1962] she was meditating in her room when she became aware that the light was dimming. Glancing up, she saw the 5 bulbs in the crystal chandelier go dark except for a curious round ball which glowed brilliantly in the center of each. … the next evening… the phenomenon recurred… When the performance was repeated exactly as before as before on the third evening, Jeanne accepted it as an omen that something was soon to befall.
This phenomenon began on February 2, 1962. Jeane later describes the subsequent vision as
Stepping out of the brightness of the sun’s rays, hand in hand, were a Pharaoh and Queen Nefertiti. Cradled in the Queen’s other arm was a baby… [whose] eyes were all-knowing… full of wisdom and knowledge. [later the baby] had by now grown to manhood, and a small cross which formed above him began to expand until it dripped over the earth in all directions. Simultaneously, peoples of every race, religion, and color… each kneeling and lifting his arms in WORSHIPFUL ADORATION, surrounded him. They were all as one.
Later, Jeane explains this as
A child born somewhere in the Middle East on February 5, 1962 will revolutionize the world… and bring together all mankind in one all-embracing faith… a new Christianity… every sect and creed united through this man.
No one can be sure who the antichrist is, but whoever he is, his time will come and his judgment is sure.
The prophecies of Jeane Dixon are certainly not to be taken at face value as truth. However, 2 days before Jeane observed the first phenomena about her vision of a man to be worshipped, who will unite all mankind; a man WAS born on January 30, 1962 in the Middle East of royal descent – King Abdullah of Jordan. This same King Abdullah is meeting the week of May 8, 2002 with President Bush to discuss ways to FORCE Arafat to stop terrorism.
The thing to remember is that any effective spiritual lie is always very close to the truth. And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (2 Cor 11:14) Satan's program is imitation. He said, " I will be LIKE the most high ." (Isa 14:14) So, when Jeane Dixon says this baby will revolutionize the world… and bring together all mankind in one all-embracing faith… a new Christianity… every sect and creed united through this man, we know that this is not from the Lord. So, the question is - WHO gave her this vision?
We know the answer - the father of lies. The father of lies must have a reason to have told Jeane Dixon.
On Monday January 25, 1999 there two seemingly unrelated events.
The first has the Vatican saying that Satan is not to be discussed, only the "cause of evil."
Weekend News Today
By Andra Brack

Mon Jan 25 , 1999 -- The Vatican will Tuesday try to revamp the the image of Satan, arguing that it needs a "more subtle and sophisticated" definition of evil for the millennium, the London Times reports. A new formula, formed by a Vatican panel of experts, substitutes "psychological disturbance" for references to the Devil as the embodiment of evil. "In revising the form of words for exorcism, we have re-thought the nature of the evil we are trying to root out," says one member of the commission.
Officials say the Church isn't revising "scriptural references" to the Devil or suggesting that people should cease believing in "the Evil One." But priests conducting exorcisms should deal with evil as a force "lurking within all individuals" instead of one that threatens people from without. Monsignor Corrado Balducci, the Vatican's chief exorcist, says the Church has to adapt to modern thinking and "be more careful in distinguishing between possession by evil spirits and what are more commonly called psychiatric disturbances." According to Vatican officials, priests will be encouraged not to refer any longer to the Prince of Darkness , the Accursed Dragon, the Foul Spirit, the Satanic Power or the Master of Deceit. Instead the formulas refer to "the cause of evil. "
The second has King Hussein appointing (in a shocking surprise) his son as Regent (instead of his brother)
King Hussein appoints eldest son as future king
Weekend News Today
By Kelly Pagatpatan
Mon Jan 25 ,1999 -- Jordan's King Hussein today appointed his eldest son, Abdullah, as his future successor, Jordanian sources said. Senior government officials watched while Hussein signed the decree naming Abdullah crown prince, Royal Palace sources said on customary condition of anonymity. They said Hussein's decree is expected to be made public later today. The sources confirmed earlier accounts by officials that Hussein made the decision Sunday to designate Abdullah as crown prince.

Palestine: The New Arafat? By Calvin Clark
Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince, Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, recently floated a peace proposal for Arab nations and Israel. Such an agreement, however, will require a strong Palestinian leader to seal the deal. In a Middle East where violence has sapped Yasir Arafat of power and prestige, who can lead Palestinians to peace? The answer might be found in neighboring Jordan — a nation with a royal Abdullah of its own.

The antichrist allows the Palestinians to escape . Who are the "palestinians"? Answer - the western Jordanians.
Furthermore, there is now a discussion underway which is advocating a new domain for King Abdullah to rule .
Does this domain represent the " crown given unto him " mention in Revelation 6 at the opening of the first seal?
Did you know that it is less than 50 miles from Ammon the capitol of Jordan to Jerusalem? Did you know that the antichrist is going to set up headquarters inside what is now Israel ?
The giving of this " crown " is for the purpose of " confirm ing" (enforcing) of Mideast Peace by fighting terrorism .
The beginning of the Tribulation has the antichrist " confirm[ing] the covenant with many ."
My suggestion is you read this - it is a warning to ALL of us .
Whoever the antichrist is, he will think like this (according to the Bible).
More news on Jordan's royal family, this time the deposed Crown Prince Hassan - a C&P no longer available on the net:
WINNIPEG - For 34 years he was a Crown Prince, who stood a heartbeat away from power and served as the closest advisor and confidant to his brother, the late King Hussein of Jordan.
Now, as the world braces for war with Iraq, Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan is increasingly seen as a possible replacement for Saddam Hussein -- a new King of Iraq -- a man who could almost singlehandedly transform the face of the Middle East.
It is an idea Prince Hassan sidestepped diplomatically yesterday in an exclusive interview with the National Post, saying: "I am not obsessed with red carpet fever."
He sees himself instead as a statesman who has been steeped in the turmoil of the Middle East for 55 years, a humanitarian who wants to bring peace and stability to his troubled region, a man who, for decades, has tried to find understanding among what he calls "the Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam."
"I am always available to anyone who wants an agony aunt," he joked, before delivering a special lecture on the "Culture of Peace" at the University of Manitoba.
"I don't like to talk about pecking orders and hierarchies and so forth," he added. "I genuinely am concerned about the future and would like to do whatever I can to promote the concepts I believe in.
"Obviously, the Iraqis have to decide on their own constituent assembly arrangements and what the future holds for them is their choice," he said.
It is neither a "yes" nor a "no" about the likelihood of his heading a rebuilt Iraq. But in the shadowy no man's land of the current crisis, it is as precise a statement of personal availability as can reasonably be made. Especially when George W. Bush, the U.S. President, is insisting on "regime change" in Baghdad, but with no clear indication of who or what might actually replace Saddam's dictatorship.
That is something that deeply concerns Prince Hassan.
He fears not enough attention is being paid to the possible aftermath of a war to depose Saddam.
A defeated Iraq could start to disintegrate, he warns, fuelling ethnic and sectarian violence more horrible than the recent Balkan wars.
A massive military confrontation and loss of life could be just a prelude to a "scorched earth policy" by Saddam that would make the environmental damage inflicted on Kuwait during the Gulf War look like child's play, he added.
"My abiding fear is that, as critical as I am of the state system [in Iraq], the alternative of ethnic and sectarian bloodshed, Balkan-style, from Israel to India, is too horrifying to contemplate.
"I think how wars end is a very important thing to keep in mind."
He stresses he has opposed the use of force against Iraq since the Gulf War in 1990. But, he adds, in the end, war may be inevitable.
"A moment comes, quiet clearly, when the irresistible force meets an immovable object and something has to give," he said. "In the context of the Arab world, I know the consensus is against the use of force, as it is in most parts of the world. But President Bush says war is a last resort. There is still some wiggle room.
"Nevertheless, I think it is very important for the Arab world to make it very clear to Iraq that, at the end of the day, we have done what we can to stay the hand of war. But we also have our interests."
In the last four months, since he publicly attended a London conference of Iraqi exiles who were plotting to overthrow Saddam, Prince Hassan has been seen as someone uniquely qualified by lineage and experience to serve a special role in reintegrating a post-Saddam Iraq into the world community.
Just as the United States used former Afghan King Mohammad Zahir Shah to pull quarrelsome groups of Afghans together in the wake of the overthrow of the Taliban, Prince Hassan, the elder statesman of the Hashemite royal family, may be called upon to transcend the ethnic and political cleavages that are bound to erupt in a post-Saddam Iraq.
In some ways, he offers an elegant solution to the very messy problem of regime change.
The Prince is a well-respected statesman in the Arab world and a direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammed, a member of the 42nd generation of the Hashemite family, which originally served as guardians of Mecca and Medina and, in the last century, established kingdoms in Syria, Iraq and Jordan.
Only Jordan survives as a Hashemite kingdom. But Prince Hassan's great-uncle was the founder of modern Iraq and his cousin, King Faisal II, ruled in Baghdad until 1958, when army rebels slaughtered the 19-year-old ruler and his family in the first of a long string of bloody coups that ultimately led to Saddam's dictatorship.
More modest and less flamboyant than his late brother, King Hussein, Prince Hassan is widely regarded as a man of dignity, knowledge and impeccable connections.
In his 34 years as Crown Prince, he cultivated an international reputation as a writer, speaker, humanitarian and environmentalist.
Today, three years after King Hussein, on his deathbed, replaced him as Crown Prince with his own son, the present King Abdullah of Jordan, Prince Hassan still plays a major role on the international stage. He is president of the Club of Rome, an advisor to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, vice-chairman of the Foundation for Interreligious and Intercultural Research and Dialogue in Geneva, a board member of the Council on Foreign Relations, founder of Jordan's Royal Scientific Society and the Arab Thought Forum and president of the Center for Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at the University of Oklahoma.
A short barrel of a man, who speaks English like an Oxford don, he is also fluent in Arabic, Hebrew and French, and can get by in a pinch with Spanish, German and Turkish.
He has a boisterous laugh, a solemn frown and loves to discuss abstruse theories in a low, rumbling voice, sprinkling his conversation with quotes from European philosophers and historians and medieval Muslim scholars.
A man with an intimate knowledge of the cultural, religious and political issues of the Middle East, his ascension to power in Iraq would put a friend of the United States in power, help ease tensions with Israel and informally unite Jordan and Iraq as a counterweight to regional rivals such as Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
More importantly, a restoration of the old Hashemite monarchy might forestall Iraq's disintegration and serve as a bridge leading to a more democratic and inclusive Iraqi state.
"I have been saying this for years and years and years," he says. "Human dignity, elimination of the role of the military in public life and recognition of the fact that Iraq itself is a mosaic culturally are all important."
"I have been in public life for over 54 years, alongside my dead brother," he adds.
"I have, I think, acquired a certain working knowledge of the causes of what has gone wrong in the many parts of our region. To put them right, I think basically one has to talk not of monarchy or republic, but of people -- of the need for consensus, for inclusion, for pluralism."
Abdullah, the King of Jordan, said NOBODY from the royal family would replace the Iraqi Saddam. We shall see. In fact, it has now been reported (see below) that he has changed his mind. (01-31-2003)

It was brought to my attention by a reader that Prince Hassan is a candidate
The reader mentioned this website:
Quotes from the Prince Hassan (from the website)-
The topics of global sustainability, cultural diversity, religion, and the means and impact of technological gains are very close to my heart.
A universal culture must now be agreed upon, established and abided by all members of our common globe, who face a common fate."
If we all realise that our behaviour (in developing as well as developed countries) influences others as well as ourselves, and if we accept the responsibility that therefore befalls us, we can all agree to a universal code of conduct, an ethic of human solidarity.
As Moderator of the World Conference on Religions for Peace, I call for a global code of conduct while promoting solemn respect for the various faiths and their interaction. Together with Dr. Hans Küng and Dr. Leonard Swidler, I stress that this code should have principles emphasising the association between theology and practicality; commonality; taking into account the Enlightenment tradition; embracing the principle of 'No Coercion'; upholding the right to proclaiming one's own religion; reconsidering the content of education; ensuring a free flow of information; looking courageously afresh at our own and each others' texts, heritage and history; developing a framework for disagreement; and producing a contextualised framework for further discussion and enquiry; as well as accepting responsibility for words and action at all levels. This recognises the political and economic dimensions of interfaith dialogue.
, it is possible to perceive of a global ethic for all cultures, religions and faiths, together with multiple modernities.
Willingness to participate in constructive good will is a necessary foundational value. However, if countries decline to participate in a global process, or restrict the rights of their indigenous populations to have a say, the process will necessarily continue to develop in a nondemocratic manner. By the same token, if peoples and countries insist justly upon their right to move from a culture of existence to a culture of participation, they are working to democratise global processes in their own interests.
. An example is the Parliament of Cultures where men and women from all over the world will participate in a conversation focused on two themes: education and the media. During the preparation process in Ankara a few months ago, I announced that through such a parliament I hope to promote local values, sustainable practices consistent with global reality, and an access to knowledge for all human beings.
Cultures and faiths may differ in some aspects and diversity must be respected. Within this rich diversity, however, lies a firm foundation of common values. Values that would never call for a destruction of what is good, or a disastrous end to what must be sustained: life. Let us build upon this common foundation - our 'global commons' - for the sustainability of our common globe.
"I would like to add that once again, the challenges are clear: the politicisation of the armed forces, the rise of ethnic conflict, the rise of violence, the growth of urbanization, …
As I said in the committee called for by President Khatami with the response of Secretary General Kofi Annan, I do not personally believe in a conflict of civilisations in the plural. I believe there is one world civilization
and these organisations are not interested when you say: "Let us pool our resources to focus on a common theme." Selfishness is the order of the day. Many of these people, unfortunately, like myself, are has-beens in public office, or are waiting for new public office to be opened to us in the event of our being available or convenient to suit the plan of whomsoever. The other day it was suggested that maybe the Prince of Jordan would be a suitable leader of Iraq and I said, "Well, anyone in his right mind would not aspire to such a position." In addition to which, thank God, I do not have red-carpet fever. However, if they are interested in developing a conversation over the common good, I am a good listener."
Prince Hassan's Mother -
Her Majesty Queen Zein al-Sharaf was one of the strongest pillars of the Jordanian monarchy and a highly intelligent women. She is remembered for her pioneering efforts in charitable works, and her support for women’s rights. The late Queen Mother was born in Egypt on August 2, 1916 and married King Talal bin Abdullah in 1934, with whom she bore three sons and a daughter; His Majesty King Hussein, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad, His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan and Her Royal Highness Princess Basma.
My comments to the reader were-
On the candidacy of Prince Hassan-
Hassan is NOT a military man, per se, unlike the King.
However, he could STILL “honor the God of forces” as prophesied in Daniel.
The king IS a military man, however. On this topic, I would lean to the King.
Hassan’s speeches, per se, are more “antichrist” in theme than I have read of the King.
He is President of the Club of Rome as well, very interesting.
On these topics, I would lean to Hassan.
In fact, particularly the following quote is interesting-
. The other day it was suggested that maybe the Prince of Jordan would be a suitable leader of Iraq and I said, "Well, anyone in his right mind would not aspire to such a position." In addition to which, thank God, I do not have red-carpet fever. However, if they are interested in developing a conversation over the common good, I am a good listener. "
BUT, and perhaps this MAY be the biggest issue-
In the New Testament, the genealogy of BOTH Joseph and Mary are given. They are both considered important. So, I would think that this would be true of the antichrist as well, though this is not absolute. It is only my opinion. Scriptures mean everything. Opinions mean nothing.
The scripture says that “the PEOPLE of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city…” The destruction refers to that of Jerusalem by the Romans.
The King’s mother was BRITISH, making her a “Roman.” However, the Prince’s mother was apparently Egyptian. On this count, I would, therefore, lean to the King.
If I were forced to guess, between the King or the Prince, I’d go with the King. However, Prince Hassan is VERY interesting and I would NOT be surprised if this were to end up being the case (allowing room somehow for Prince Hassan to be of “Roman” descent or some other reconciliation be made of this verse).
Thank you very much for writing. Your view is certainly possible (a great deal more possible than any other view, such as a European, etc.) One thing we do not really know based on what we read is the nature of the EGO of either man. This will be a major factor in determining his future behaviour.
However, that the antichrist is "Assyrian" there can be no doubt. This (and the location of the empire of the antichrist ) make BOTH these men good candidates.
From the website ArabicNews.com we read from several articles the following information about the late King Hussein's decision to remove his brother Hassan as Crown Prince and make his son, Abdullah, the Crown Prince in January of 1999.
The French daily Le Monde quoted former Jordanian parliament member Toujan al-Faisal as saying the US was the one who recommended that King Hussein take a decision concerning the title of crown prince.
Al-Faisal asserted that this is the case because Prince Hassan "has not the same loyalty shown by King Hussein" to the United States
Le Monde added that Jordan is a major player in settling the cause of Palestine .
According to Jordanian political circles, the six months the king spent in medical treatment abroad gave him the chance to think thoroughly about the future of Jordan. Jordanian political sources said the King told one of his visitors in Washington two months earlier that he was not satisfied with the way the state's affairs were being run during his absence and that he intended to make vast changes in a framework of comprehensive revisions of conditions .
King Hussein arrived in Amman on Tuesday in his private plane after a six-month absence. He announced just minutes after his arrival that he will make "reforms in the interests of the Jordanians. "
Jordanian political sources told the London-based al-Hayat daily that the decision providing for appointing one of the King's sons as crown prince instead of his youngest brother, Hassan, is the first step toward a vast road of reforms aimed at making Jordanian citizens satisfied with their short and long-term futures. ( Translation- money is on the way from the United States )
The sources expected the Jordanian King within the coming months to dissolve the parliament and to call for general parliamentary elections to replace the current parliament. The Jordanian political circles did not rule out the elections being preceded by a new election law within the context of democratic reforms
They also expected that the King will form a new government in order to ensure the necessary mechanism to make the optimum change.
The Jordanian political sources said they expect that implementing the new phase of the forthcoming changes will be made following the King's return from his visit to the US in March to carry out routine medical tests.
It was a shock for most Jordanians . The prince with whom they have lived over the past 35 years as the regent of the kingdom is not there anymore, replaced by the King's elder son Abdullah .
Upon his return from a six-month absence for medical treatment in the US, King Hussein of Jordan took a decision never anticipated before. Perhaps only by a close elite of the Jordanian officials and members of the royal family who could read the king's thoughts as he was on his bed being treated from lymphoma.
Many in Jordan argue that the way Crown Prince Hassan handled the kingdom's matters over the six months of his brother's absence had angered the King . The way, they said, indicated as if Hassan was the real king. He even took decisions and made interviews as if King Hussein was never to return to Jordan, some said.
For example, it was Prince Hassan who named his own son-in-law, Nasser Joudeh, minister of information without consulting the king . His move was seen as an attempt to penetrate the media both in Jordan and internationally . He also replaced the mayor of Amman, Mamdouh Abadi, without King Hussein's approval . And more importantly from the King's point of view, Prince Hassan named Dr. Jawad Anani, his close associate, as chief of the Royal Court, a highly sensitive position that only those totally loyal to the king can occupy.
Very senior officials in Jordan had reportedly complained to the king from the way his brother was handling matters in Jordan . Some even said they were being "minimized" in a way. Of those, for instance were Lt. General Abdul Hafez Kaabneh, the chief of staff, and major general Samih Battikhi, head of the general intelligence and security services.
After a series of complaints found their way to King Hussein back in the US, he started to contemplate a drastic move as soon as he could . He prepared himself for the decision long before he returned to Amman.
In light of the latest developments in Jordan, many leading figures are expected to disappear from the political arena . Others will restore their old glory like former prime minister Abdul Karim Kabariti who was forced to quit his job against the background of serious differences with Prince Hassan
The late King Hussein and the United States were assuredly allies for decades. The removal of Hassan and his replacement with Abdullah may be viewed as a victory for the United States over the other faction trying to control power in Jordan. The United States plan to redraw the Mideastern map and make a palestinian substitute which can make a "peace" with Israel is seriously enhanced by making Abdullah the Crown Prince (and now King). It may be inferred from the fact that Hassan is President of the Club of Rome that the other faction is the Vatican.
Since there is apparently a struggle to determine who will rule the coming political beast in the Mideast, it is no wonder that it is reported in the Bible that the antichrist will "have a wound by a sword and live ." (Revelation 13:14) It is at this time that the WORSHIP of the antichrist is demanded. Apparently, the antichrist will be assassinated and rise from the dead (Rev 13:14).
There are those who believe that the antichrist is not resurrected. (See Things To Come by Dwight Pentecost, 1958, page 336; an outstanding book on prophecy, maybe the best). Those that take this position (including Pentecost) say that the kingdom, not the king, is "resurrected" However, on page 337 of the same book , Pentecost says that the false prophet "compels the earth to worship the first beast as God (Rev 13:12) ." A close look at this verse (Rev 13:12) shows that when the false prophet "which causeth the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast", he does so at a time after the healing of a deadly wound - "whose deadly wound was healed " (Rev 13:12)
Therefore, the false prophet "causeth the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast whose deadly wound was healed " This verse argues strongly for a resurrection. However, we do know for a certainty that the eventual antichrist appears in the temple showing himself to BE God at the midpoint of the tribulation. See this outline . Whether or not he is going to be supported by a resurrection is debatable. However, I tend toward that he IS resurrected. Here's another reason.
Rev 11:7 When they (God's 2 witnesses) shall have finished their testimony (which is clearly during the first half of the tribulation ) the beast that ASCENDETH out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
This event occurs at the midpoint of the tribulation, 1260 days after its inception.
As President of the Club of Rome, Prince Hassan of Jordan made these remarks
see this website for the full text- (thanks CM)
In a speech before the Club of Rome, Prince Hassan says that
Jihadism is not equal to Islamism,
that he " prefers a pax dei to a pax Americano ", " perhaps in the minds of some of our American friends the two are synonymous ",
(in other words, he prefers a Peace from God rather than a Peace enforced by American might)
" wars will never end until justice prevails ",
because " schisms have become so numerous , inequities and inequalities so stark, a universal respect for human dignity must be brought back to the consciousness of the international community "
to solve this problem he favors " an ethic of human solidarity and a new international order "
" we have to understand the culture of others and respect them ",
" together we must try to contain the madness that is sweeping through the world ",
" crisis avoidance is all important ",
" if we had kept the promises made in 1974 at the UN to allocate 0.7% of the gross national product of the industrialized countries to the development of the disadvantaged countries, some of today's angry neighbors might have been good friends and trading partners ",
" we must seek a new kind of politics, capable of ending humanity's ancient wars against itself and against nature ",
" it is sad to see that all multilateral processes start with the basket on security, followed by the basket on economy ".
On his Muslim faith, he said, " there shall be no compulsion in religion " (quoting the Quran), " compulsion is for hypocrites ",
" you have your own religion, and I have mine ", " Islam is a broad faith with diverse institutions ", " Islam is no monolith now, and it never has been ",
" I object to the concept of civilizations in the plural, I refer to one civilization and ten thousand cultures ."
In the scenario of Peace versus the Clash of Civilizations , it is clear where Hassan positions himself. It also abundantly clear that Hassan expects economic development to take first priority. Remember, the eventual antichrist will have " power over the treasures of gold and silver. " Does Hassan make a candidate for the one who promotes the antichrist? Is there such a Biblical personage eventually promoting " an ethic of human solidarity " and a " Pax Dei " and " crisis avoidance "? Remember the meaning of the word " confirm " as in "confirm the covenant with many. " If you have ever been involved in accomplishing a difficult task, it is an easy thing to get frustrated and take matters into your own hands, especially when you believe in the " ethic of human solidarity ."
The wife of the late King Hussein (Queen Noor) is all over CNN and MSNBC the last TWO days. One message she is playing over and over is this-
The late King Hussein (and apparently his successors too) represented (represents) ARAB interests!! This MUST be done to get the buy-in of the Islamic states to participate in the "covenant. "
She is also presenting the King's programs (and apparently his successors) as representing ALL sides against EXTREMISM of any type .
The message is that the Jordanian monarchy is reliable in the present scenario.
Jordan seeks 'active role' in post-war Iraq
By Sana Abdallah UNITED PRESS INTERNATIONAL
Jordan said it was seeking an " active Arab role " in Iraq to prevent the two countries from administering a post-war Iraq alone. Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher said he telephoned Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa " upon the instructions" of King Abdullah II , to "form an active Arab role". This role was "not only to stop the war as soon as possible and avert further destruction of the Iraqi people, but t o work toward preventing an opportunity for the United States and Britain to administer Iraq alone , while stressing the rights of the Iraqi people and their territorial unity", Muasher said. The Jordanian leader "will be contacting Arab leaders ["confirming"] and there might be visits to create this vision " , he added..

from the website:
DAVOS, Switzerland - Jordanian King Abdallah would favorably consider an American request to extend the auspices of the monarchy over Iraq for a temporary period after the expected U.S.-led attack on Saddam Hussein's regime, if the Americans ask, according to senior political sources participating in the World Ecnomic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

From the following website we read:
Iraq war: Strategic choice for Jordan
By Amir Taheri, Arab News Staff
Grim but determined. This was the impression that Jordan’s King Abdallah II gave the other day during an informal breakfast with some journalists at Davos, Switzerland.
“It would take a miracle to prevent war, now,” the king said. As a military man he knows that one cannot bring a quarter of a million troops from the other side of the world and then take them back without having changed the status quo. “Whatever we might do to prevent war may now prove to be too little, too late,” he said.
Apart from Iraq itself, no country is likely to be as affected by the looming war than Jordan. Jordan gets all of its oil needs, some 90,000 barrels a day, from Iraq at cut-rate prices. It also earns almost $1 billion a year from exports and transit rights to Iraq. Jordan is also home to an estimated 400,000 Iraqis whose lives are bound to change whatever the outcome of the war.
It is obvious that the young king has pondered his options with care.
One option was to imitate his late father, King Hussein, and publicly stand on the side of Iraq’s President Saddam Hussein. But the young king knows that it took Jordan five difficult years before it repaired the damage done to its relations with the United States, and its moderate Arab allies, in the 1990s.
That option is even less attractive for another reason. In 1991 when King Hussein sided with Iraq there was no question of a regime change in Iraq. Thus the late king could partly compensate his losses on the side of the Americans, and the moderate Arabs, by obtaining concessions from the Iraqi leader. This time, if there is war, it will not end until there is a new regime in Baghdad. There is, therefore, no reason why Jordan should back a horse that is sure to lose.
The second option was for Jordan to play a double game; that is to say be against the war in public but actively take part in it behind the scenes.
That option, too, was unattractive for two reasons. First, something like taking part in a war, in one way or another, cannot be kept secret for long. At the same time, the eventual victor is unlikely to respect an ally who tried to hedge its bets.
Anyone who watched the Jordanian king at Davos these past few days would notice the popularity he enjoys within the global elite. “ From out point of view, he is the perfect Muslim head of state,” says Professor Karl Schwab, the founder of the World Economic Forum. Not surprisingly, the young king and his wife, Queen Rania, have become permanent features of the forum and presented as “representatives of the Muslim world.” In fact, Queen Rania has just been named a member of the permanent council of the forum.
The king has chosen what he regards as the best option not only for Jordan but also for the Arabs as a whole. If and, as it now seems when, the war comes, the Hashemite kingdom will be on the side of the US-led coalition.
In exchange, Jordan seeks more than mere kudos in Washington. The US has already arranged for Kuwait to supply Jordan with the oil it needs to replace the Iraqi supplies that might be cut off for a while. Washington has also increased its military aid for this year, from $75 to $450 million. In addition, agreement has been reached in principle to compensate Jordan for losses it might sustain for the duration of the campaign to change the Iraqi regime.
Jordan is demanding more, especially in political terms. It wants to have a say in shaping the future regime in Baghdad. The king expects the Americans to establish military rule for a maximum of two years during which Iraqi political parties and personalities will prepare the draft of a new constitution.
The king wants the option of restoring monarchy in Baghdad to be one of the choices offered to the Iraqi people in a constitutional referendum. The hope is that, if the Iraqis vote for restoration, a member of the Hashemite family will be placed on the throne. But even if monarchy is not restored, it is clear that the future Iraqi regime would regard Jordan as its closest friend and ally, if only because it is one of the few Arab states to take side in favor of change in Baghdad.
But, perhaps, the biggest concession that Jordan appears to have obtained from Washington, in exchange for its support, is a promise to work for the establishment of a Palestinian state by the end of 2005.
The king has hammered in one key message: The new Middle East, of which President George W. Bush has been talking, will not be possible without a Palestinian state on the map.
Jordan’s choice may draw the ire of self-styled Pan-Arabists. But the tiny desert kingdom is practicing the only version of power politics it is capable of. It has chosen to strengthen its strategic alliance with the United States and Britain. It has fully adopted the capitalist ideology, complete with membership of the World Trade Organization, and seems irrevocably committed to developing a Western-style political system.
Throughout the forum, Jordan’s Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher acted as a passionate defender of the United States at a time that it seemed to be everyone’s favorite punching bag. In exchange the kingdom hopes to emerge from the coming Iraq war, if not with all the gains it hopes for, at least without big losses

Jordan steps into driving seat with 'road map' talks
Reaping the diplomatic reward of his military support for America in the war in Iraq, King Abdullah of Jordan will be the host of a landmark peace summit with the leaders of America, Israel and the Palestinian Authority , it emerged yesterday. The meeting, expected next week in the Red Sea resort of Aqaba, will start the progress towards peace envisaged by the international "road map", culminating with a Palestinian state in 2005. The peace plan issued by the quartet of America, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations offers the best hope of ending 32 months of bloodletting between Israel and the Palestinians. By organising the summit - between President George W Bush, Ariel Sharon and the new Palestinian prime minister, Mahmoud Abbas, known as Abu Mazen - King Abdullah will be stealing much of the limelight from Egypt ,( Egypt is the King of the South in the Book of Daniel, the protagonist of the antichrist ) the traditional peace mediator in the Middle East. The move to Aqaba is a signal of displeasure to President Hosni Mubarak , who did not support the war against Saddam Hussein. In contrast, King Abdullah allowed US and British forces to use his country as a jumping-off point for operations in western Iraq. Nevertheless, Egypt retains a strong influence on the Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, and cannot be excluded from the diplomatic game. Mr Mubarak will be the host of a separate summit between Mr Bush and key Arab leaders in Sharm el-Sheikh, the Egyptian resort at the opposite end of the Gulf of Aqaba. The Sharm el-Sheikh summit is expected next Wednesday, at the end of Mr Bush's tour of Europe, followed by the Aqaba meeting on Thursday. The burst of diplomatic activity in the Middle East was ignited by the Israeli cabinet's decision this week to support the road map . Despite the opposition of Right-wing members of his coalition, Mr Sharon secured his ministers' support for the road map, albeit with 14 "reservations". He bluntly told colleagues that Israel could not maintain its military occupation of Palestinians indefinitely. The comments outraged hardliners and drew a rebuke from the attorney-general, who pointed out that successive Israeli governments have maintained that the West Bank and Gaza Strip were "administered" by Israel rather than "occupied". It is still unclear whether either side is truly ready to take the steps required. Abu Mazen also faces internal resistance and a planned meeting with Mr Sharon today has been postponed while he consults Mr Arafat and members of the dominant Fatah faction. With America victorious in Iraq , neither Israel nor the Palestinians want to reject outright America's plans for peace ( they have NO choice really ). Each side will be hoping that the other will be blamed should the road map collapse like previous peace initiatives. In the first phase, Palestinians have to cease all violence, while Israel must withdraw from Palestinian cities and freeze Jewish settlements in the occupied territories. According to leaks in the Israeli media, Mr Sharon's additional terms include demands that Israel should fully control the borders and air space of an eventual Palestinian state, and that Palestinian refugees from 1948 should give up claims to their former homes in Israel. Long caught between the two fires of the Palestinian uprising to the west and the conflict with Iraq to the east, King Abdullah now hopes to benefit from the creation of a pro-American regime in Baghdad and an American-sponsored deal to resolve the Palestinian question . But this is also a risky strategy for the king , whose grip on power could be weakened if his people see him as too closely associated with America and Israel.
What is the SIGNIFICANCE of this development? The eventual antichrist's major role in the "tribulation" to come is the "confirming" of a "covenant". Read all about this "covenant" here. The short version is this:
Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week :
The covenant described here is the "peace agreement" that involves the nation Israel, its hostile Islamic neighbors, the United Nations, the United States, Russia, and Western Europe. The covenant involves building an international coalition against those who are opposed to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
Strong’s Concordance word number 1396 for “ confirm ” means to “ be mighty ”, be “ valiant ”, “ prevail ”, “ by implication be strong insolently ” or “ be stronger .” Therefore, the antichrist will be the chief motivation behind making the "covenant" prevail upon the peoples of the "many.'

Jordan Foreign Minister visits Italy
Jordanian Foreign Minister Marwan Moasher left Wednesday on a two-day visit to Italy to deliver a letter from King Abdullah II to Pope John Paul II and hold talks with Italian officials on the Middle East.
The message, which Moasher will deliver to the pontiff deals with "the situation in the region," according to Petra news agency.
Moasher will also meet with Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, the Vatican's equivalent of foreign minister, to discuss "means of stepping up efforts to find a just and lasting solution to crises facing the region, " Petra added.
He will hold similar talks in Rome with Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini, the agency added. (Albawaba.com)

VATICAN CITY, JUNE 12, 2003 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II received a message from King Abdullah of Jordan , which was handed to the Pope personally by Jordanian Foreign Affairs Minister Marwan Muasher .
The Vatican press office gave no details on today's papal audience with the Jordanian envoy . The audience was held at a critical time in the relaunching of Mideast peace talks .
The king's message addresses "the situation in the region," according to the Jordanian news agency Petra.
Muasher also met with Archbishop Jean-Louis Tauran, Vatican secretary for relations with states , to discuss "means of stepping up efforts to find a just and lasting solution to crises facing the region," Petra said.
On Tuesday, Muasher was in Bahrain, where he attended a meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers entrusted with following up on Arab summit resolutions, including efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli crisis, Agence France-Presse reported.
Last week, Jordan was host for a summit between U.S. President George W. Bush and the Israeli and Palestinian Prime Minister s, who both pledged to implement the peace blueprint.

1700 GMT - Jordanian King Abdullah II will travel to Moscow on Nov. 18. During his two days in Russia, he will meet with President Vladimir Putin and other officials to discuss matters that include efforts to restart peace talks between Israelis and Palestinians.
1640 GMT - Jordan's King Abdullah II will travel to Kuwait on Nov. 11 to meet with Kuwaiti leaders to discuss the situation in Iraq.
His visit to Russia is particularly interesting considering the recent arrest of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, head of Russia's second largest oil company, Yukos. If the United States were to effectively cut Russia out of the oil picture in the middle east, this could lead to the invasion of Ezekiel 38-39. The invasion is to "take a spoil ". The invasion comes because the Lord will "put hooks in their jaws " which means they don't want to come but will be drawn virtually against their will. See this outline of Revelation . The thing we must understand is that Russia's interest in the middle east is economic, not political. See also Magog research , which shows the invaders to be break away Islamic Republics of the former Soviet Union.
Recently, Khodorkovsky told Reuters news service that " It's difficult to say what influences the Russian position in the Security Council, but I can say with certainty that Russia's interests in Iraq are economic, not political ."

Abdullah meets Blair en route to US
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
Jordan's King Abdullah II met with Prime Minister Tony Blair on Tuesday during a stopover en route to the United States.
Blair's 10 Downing St. office said the leaders discussed a wide range of issues that included Iraq and the Middle East peace process. No further details were made public.
The king stopped in London before his talks in the United States with President George W. Bush. Abdullah was believed to be seeking Bush administration backing to reactivate the Middle East peace negotiations based on ideas proposed by Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei.
Qurei's ideas included the possibility of reaching a comprehensive Palestinian cease-fire, on condition of an Israeli cease-fire, as well as cessation of building settlements and the security fence.
Qurei told Abdullah on Sunday that the PA was ready to comply with its commitments and obligations under the road map. But "we want the United States to press the Israeli government to stop the violations which harm the [peace] process, like the [security] barrier and the racial separation, the settlements and the siege imposed on the Palestinian people," Qurei said Sunday after his meeting with Abdullah and other Jordanian officials.
Abdullah was to meet with Bush at the White House on Thursday, as well as US Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Colin Powell, and other senior officials, the official Jordanian Petra news agency said Tuesday. The monarch's meeting with Bush will be the second in 10 weeks.
Jordanian officials say Abdullah will also seize the opportunity to discuss the Iranian issue. He will tell the Bush administration that during his visit to Iran in September, he sensed that the Iranians are ready for a face-to-face dialogue between Bush and President Mohammad Khatami.
The talks will also focus on economic issues and ways to increase US aid to the kingdom. The United States – Jordan's largest aid donor – is allocating $464 million in aid next year.
During the past Seven days the King of Jordan has:
Met with 14th Jordanian parliament on Mon, Dec 1
Met with the Palestinian delegation on Tue, Dec 2, to discuss Mideast peace
Met with President Bush in the White House on Thu, Dec 4, to discuss Mideast peace
Gave a speech to the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations, some powerful big wheels that actually run the country) on Friday, Dec 5, on Mideast peace and related issues
Appeared in a previously recorded Travel Channel feature on Sun, Dec 7. Coincidence?
This Travel Channel program portrayed the King in a compellingly positive manner (it is difficult to portray him in any other manner). Assuredly, he is a "man for all seasons" as described on the feature which showed him flying a helicopter, appearing in grand style in military situations, touring Petra (after taking a camel ride through the desert), riding a boat on the beautiful Gulf of Aqaba, meeting the Bedouin desert people (showing his common touch), amply demonstrating his charm/wit and Western education and command of English, making a rigorous climb of a mountain to a shrine for " prophets " of various religions (including "the prophet, Jesus " to quote the King) .
An example of the centralization and continuity of this power is manifest in the person of John J. McCloy, the " first citizen of the CFR ", according to Henry Kissinger, another CFR member. The point here is that there is power that transcends presidential elections.
Mr. McCloy did ALL of the following:
a. Jean Monnet's (the "father" of the EEC) lawyer
b. Assistant Secretary of War (1941)
c. Funneled $15 billion to Stalin
d. Involved in the decision to drop the bomb on Japan
e. Fired Patton (for threatening the "world order")
f. Fired MacArthur (for opposing the U.N. crowd)
g. Legal arm of the Rockefellers
h. President of the World Bank (1946)
i. High Commissioner of Germany after WWII
j. OPEC (the international oil cartel) creator
k. Originated many New World Order projects of the Ford Foundation
l. Originated the EEC (the European Economic Community)
m. Counsel to the "seven sister" oil companies.
n. Appointed McNamara, Kissinger, and Rusk
o. A member of the Warren Commission (Kennedy assassination)
p. Selected Nixon's cabinet
q. Chairman of the powerful CFR ('53-'70)
r. Chairman of the Ford Foundation
s. Chairman of the Rockefeller's Chase Manhattan Bank
t. Advisor and friend to nine presidents from Roosevelt to Reagan

King, US congressional team hold talks on Mideast peace, Iraq
AQABA (Petra) — His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday met a US congressional delegation for talks on the Middle East peace process and Iraq.
During the meeting, King Abdullah stressed the need for the international community, including the US, to support the peace process and end the impasse in the roadmap.
The King told the delegation that Israel should take steps towards peace by ending the assassination of Palestinians, halting work on the separation barrier in the West Bank and freezing settlement activities in the occupied territories. If achieved, he said, such steps would help Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia tackle the security issues “once and for all.”
Urging the Israelis and the Palestinians to remove all obstacles facing peace negotiations, the Monarch underlined the US role in keeping the peace process alive .
On Iraq, King Abdullah reiterated the significance of empowering the Iraqis to build their own national institutions as quickly as possible, highlighting Jordan's efforts to train Iraqi police and army personnel.
The team comprised Republican senators Jon Kyl of Arizona, who serves on the Senate judiciary as well as finance and energy and natural resources committees, and Susan Collins of Maine, who is chairperson of the governmental affairs committee and serves on the armed forces committee.
The delegation also included Democratic Representative Jane Harman of California, a member of the intelligence committee, and Republican Representative Jeff Flake of Arizona, who serves on three committees in the House: the judiciary, the international relations and resources.

King in Davos[Switzerland] to address WEF today
By Alia Shukri Hamzeh
DAVOS — His Majesty King Abdullah arrived here on Thursday to lead an official delegation to the World Economic Forum's 34th annual meeting and held several meetings with heads of state and prominent political and business figures.
King Abdullah's talks focused on means to boost bilateral ties with several countries, enhance Arab economies and achieve greater political development.
The King met Swiss President Joseph Deiss for talks on Middle East issues , particularly the Palestinian cause and Israel's highly-condemned separation barrier.
Warning against the barrier, which cuts deep into Palestinian territories, King Abdullah said the wall would destroy the peace process and kill any chance for an independent Palestinian state . He emphasised that only a just solution to the Palestinian problem could restore regional stability and security.
On bilateral issues, the King said Jordan is keen to strengthen economic cooperation with Switzerland, highlighting joint agreements signed in 2002 in the environment, health and water sectors.
He also praised Switzerland's proposed assistance to support a feasibility study on a project to save the Dead Sea from degradation. Environmental experts have repeatedly warned that levels of Dead Sea water were dropping fast because of industrial and agricultural activities.
The King also held talks with members of the New Asian Business Leaders and discussed issues raised during their previous October meeting at Singapore's WEF East Asia Summit. The leaders had offered scholarships for Jordanian students in an array of subjects.
The King was also briefed on preparations under way for the February meeting between New Asian Business Leaders and the Arab Business Council (ABC) in Malaysia. The conference will be held under his patronage .
The Monarch also met Bahraini Crown Prince Sheikh Salman Ben Hamad Al Khalifah and Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Ben Jassem Al Thani for talks on boosting bilateral ties and supporting the recently established ABC.
He stressed during the meetings on the need for Arab countries to form solid economic blocs in order to advance their position on the international market.
The King also held talks with President of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Sadeko Ogata, Senior Vice President of Boeing Co. Thomas Pickering, John Chambers of Cisco Systems and Bill Gates of Microsoft.
The King expressed appreciation for JICA's support to the Kingdom in education, water and information technology (IT) projects.
He also discussed investment opportunities in the aviation sector with Pickering, especially after the company expressed intention to set up an aviation training institute in Jordan.
King to present Arab vision for prosperity, security
Marking his fourth participation in the forum, on Friday the King will deliver a keynote address that presents the Arab vision for achieving prosperity and security in the Middle East . He will also brief the audience on the Kingdom's achievements on the socio-economic and political levels and elaborate on efforts to upgrade the standards of living for Jordanians.
The King is also scheduled to meet top business executives to highlight the legislative, economic and administrative reforms.
The King's schedule on Friday start with a morning meeting with members of the ABC, which was formed during WEF's global reconciliation summit at the Dead Sea. The ABC was formed by 50 Middle East leading businessmen to enhance cooperation within Arab corporate sector and promote competitiveness to prepare the sector for full integration with the global economy . The new body is expected to address economic challenges via cooperation with governments and other parties. In his meetings with ABC members, the King has called on the private sector in the Arab world to assume a bigger and a more active role in the development of Arab society to help them overcome economic obstacles facing them. He stressed the need for the private and public sectors to join ranks to ensure the achievement of real development, underlining the importance of developing human resources as a pillar in the process.
Other meetings on the agenda include a lunch with governors for travel and tourism, afternoon meetings with governors of the health, IT and automotive sectors. In each meeting, Jordanian businessmen from each sector would address the special governors and portray current accomplishments and future plans. The meetings are regarded as very important, because they allow for greater foreign investments .
A special session on Jordan's Education Initiative will also be attended by the King. The initiative, endorsed in Davos last year, was officially launched at the Dead Sea forum in June. A group of global high-tech giants in cooperation with the government launched the initiative that projects transforming 100 "discovery schools" into model facilities where technology is at the service of learning and teaching and IT is perfectly integrated in education. The project will be applied to Jordan's 3,000 schools. Companies who have committed to participate in the project include CISCO Systems, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Intel, Siemens and Sun Microsystems, among others . The strategic partnership between WEF members and the government will help modernise curricula and teaching methods through putting more emphasis on critical skills, innovative thinking, self-discovery and self-determination.

Is there any politician in the world more active in developing relationships than the King of Jordan? Consider all the financial relationships mentioned above and then read this verse from Daniel:
But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. -- Daniel 11:43
That the antichrist will be not be unopposed is clear, however, from the following verses. The fact that he is opposed means that the process underway will fulfill prophecy (opposition to his rise) early in the process.
And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
-- Daniel 11:40
He shall enter also into the glorious land[Palestine], and many countries shall be overthrown : but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon .
-- Daniel 11:41 (we have already shown in the link that the Edomites, Moabites, and Ammonites are the Palestinians.)
The fact that the antichrist will be opposed and will overthrow certain countries portends for a SOONER fulfillment. The reason this is true is that the ultimate obtainment of the goals of Mideast policy [peace in the Mideast] will not be realized but will be halted by these events (opposition). There is a political process underway to reshape the Mideast in the image of the United States. This process will be opposed and a parallel process (call it "Arab identity") will take over. The "Arab identity" process will reach fruition AFTER the Rapture which itself will severely diminish the role of the United States. During war, at some point there is "peace" when one side destroys the other. The events of Daniel and Revelation describe the struggle that would (under normal circumstances) eventually lead to a "peace". Except in this case, the struggle will end in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Special Message By His Majesty King Abdullah II
at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting Jan 23, 2004
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
... We are deeply grateful to you, Professor, for making this kind of global exchange a world-shaping force for the 21st Century.
... join us to articulate our shared determination to bridge divides, build trust, and forge ahead with the new vision of peace, security, and prosperity ...
.. a time of special challenge... fifteen years since the end of the Cold War, and we are still struggling to create a world of security and freedom. ...in this week's meetings, and in many other multinational arenas, you will hear a tremendous amount of consensus on core solutions.
...In politics, economics, and the environment, in science, technology, and society, there's been a global march forward , despite the world's problems.
We agree on the urgency of bridging global economic and cultural divides, expanding development , and building democrac y . There is equally broad agreement on security issues , on the need to deal with regional conflicts , address the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction , and unite in the face of terrorism .
The time has come , however, to turn the emerging moral consensus on global development and security into practical and genuine achievement . Today's global dialogue must become a partnership for action , for a new political will , and new mechanisms
Peace, equity, and justice... are critical to the security of every nation... the foundations of an open, global society . And that world is put at risk, that will make our commitments real. every day that we waste by inaction .
I am a believer in specifics , so let me suggest a few. First, conflict resolution. Recent history, in Iraq, the Balkans and elsewhere, clearly shows the need to strengthen the multilateral political system . International structures should be made robus t enough to do the job we ask of them, helping to broker peace and build nations .
We should also be closely coordinating international security arrangements within a collective approach . This would allow us to take the lead in setting the priorities in the war on terror .
In the economic dimension, we all know that opportunity is a powerful force in giving people a stake in a peaceful future. It is in our hands to create a global growth economy , access to education and technology, and, most important, justice, to show young people, that ours is a world of fairness, openness, and hope. The Millennium Development Goals need to be reinforced with new benchmarks for assessing progress, for ensuring better and fairer trade, and for forging new global links .
This kind of commitment, to cooperative, dynamic action , is very real to many of us in the Arab World. We know that we must make tangible strides in human development, for the sake of our people and for the sake of our future. Today, the average growth in the region is slower than other developing countries. At the same time, with more than half of the Arab population under the age of 18, almost six million new job seekers enter the labor force each year. Average unemployment rates are now above 15 percent. This means that there are not enough jobs and there is not enough hope.
It takes all sectors to address these issues . A responsive, transparent governance, an educational system dedicated to excellence, and a vigorous private sector that can harness the region's tremendous human potential.
Recently, the Arab Business Council of the World Economic Forum has brought together private-sector representatives from across the region. In Aqaba last month, the Council drafted a blueprint for action to support economic growth . I understand that it has been adopted here at Davos. It includes initiatives for educational and judicial reform , and an explicit call to governments to commit to openness and freedom . The Arab Business Council is also building bridges with other private sector groups around the world. Next month, members of the Council will join me in Malaysia to cement an emerging partnership with the New Asian Leaders, a new body of the World Economic Forum, officially launched earlier this morning here in Davos.
But we all know that economic remedies on their own cannot yield long-term results if they are not paired with serious political and social liberalization . Initiative, excellence, and innovation cannot take hold in closed societies.
[The antchrist changes "times and laws", Dan 7:25, which, by the way, does not actually occur until the last 3 and one half years of the tribulation. So, how far away from the beginning of the tribulation are we?]
We cannot talk about growth and stability in my region, or the globe, we cannot take effective action for reform and development, without addressing a core conflict that threatens our world, the long and hateful cycle of violence between Israelis and Palestinians. As in other global concerns, the world knows the right thing to do. Last year, both parties and the international community recognized the path set forth by the Arab Summit Resolution and the Road Map. This initiative provides clear principles and mechanisms for a just and lasting solution: two secure states, Israeli withdrawal from the Palestinian territories and dismantling of settlements, two capitals in Jerusalem , and an agreed solution to the refugee issue . This is the unavoidable road to peace.
[Zech 14:2 "half the city [Jerusalem] shall go forth into captivity"]
Now, with every day of delay , there is harm to the region and the world. ...families and communities destroyed, and youthful hope that is lost to poverty and despair... For the international community...the future of global peace, and the credibility of the world's commitment to global justice. The international community cannot afford to let the collective suicide of Palestinians and Israelis feed rage and violence in the region and the world. That means rejecting terror , but also condemning repression . And it means moving forward with determination, to achieve a just and lasting peace. It is an effort that requires the active leadership of the United States , and a collective international alliance for peace . ..in tune with the desires of the overwhelming majority of Israelis. ..the support of the Arab states and Europe for the Palestinian leadership. It would in fact measure our collective resolve to translate the global moral consensus into a genuine practical achievement .
Today we face challenges in my region and around the world, but we also face unprecedented promise. Billions of people stand at the brink of new possibilities. This is what makes any failure so bitter, and the sense of urgency so great . It is in our hands today to create not simply promises, but deeds. An era of peace, a global growth economy , expanded access to education and technology, and most important, a world of justice.
The future belongs to those who see the world ... an undivided sphere . On such a globe, every point is a center, and every center is a person, entitled to prosper and succeed, in peace and security . So let us defy separation and isolation. Let us avert the clash of civilizations , and help the overlap of cultures. Let us partner for peace. But let us act now .
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much. Peace Be Upon you.
"when they shall say Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them " 1 Thess 5:3
As I stated previously, the Clash of Civilizations is the impetus toward unification.
Of the King's speech the following is undeniable:
1. His view is urgent
2. He is a man of action. Daniel says the antichrist will honor "the God of forces" [Dan 11:38]
3. He believes in changing BOTH the Arab nations and Israel. Daniel says the antichrist will seek to "change times and laws" [Dan 7:25]
4. His scope is international .
5. His measurements are political and economic
6. His aims are to eliminate " conflict ", "terrorism ", "closed societies " [Iran?, Saudi Arabia?, Syria?, Egypt?]
7. He believes in "collective security " to enforce his objectives.
8. He believes in the strong leadership of the United States [surely to create opposition ]
9. He believes we have NO other choices
10. His motives are "good" from the viewpoint of the world [Isaiah said that the motives of the antichrist were "good."]
From Debka Intelligence Website we read (as reported in Prophecy Update):
[Israel's] newly-appointed director of national security, Giora Eiland, warned the Munich security conference Sunday, February 8, that the Palestinians failure to join Israel in the US-backed road map to peace would leave Jerusalem no alterative other than to initiate unilateral disengagement that would lead to a decision to begin a process of separation between the two peoples. Eiland has been assigned with fleshing out Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharons plan for pulling the two peoples apart. But at the same forum, Jordan's king Abdullah called for a US-led international alliance to use some heavy-handedness to bring Israel and the Palestinians together at the negotiating table.
Of course, the Biblical role of the antichrist is leading others in enforcing the covenant .

(We know that the King's western education has made him a favorite in the west, we know that he is a leader among the Arab nations; now we find him enhancing his relationship in the Far East as well)
we read from the website:
'Look East' for role models — King
LANGKAWI, Malaysia (AP) — His Majesty King Abdullah said Wednesday the Arab world has “a lot to learn” from Asia and urged Middle East countries to look East rather than to the West for role models in political and economic reform.
King Abdullah told a gathering of business leaders and legislators from both regions that Asia is way ahead of the Middle East in areas such as economic integration, democratisation and the education of its people.
“We on the other side have a lot to learn,” King Abdullah told delegates at a World Economic Forum (WEF) conference in Malaysia.
More than 100 officials from 36 countries attended the conference on the resort island of Langkawi to discuss trade and economic issues and ways the two regions can help each other eradicate poverty and improve education.
Delegates adopted a joint statement that urged cooperation between Arab and Asian business leaders that would lead to economic development in both regions. It was to be presented to the WEF's meeting of world and business leaders in Amman in May and at the East Asia Economic Summit in Seoul, South Korea, in June.
The King said reform was “very sorely needed” in the Middle East, and urged the private sector to put more pressure on the region's governments to become more open and accountable.
Few Arab countries have democratically elected governments, and critics say the closed nature of royal rule in countries such as Saudi Arabia has led to resentment that fuels extremism and hinders economic development.
The United States is pushing for greater democracy in Arab states and is hoping to make postwar Iraq an example other countries can follow.
King Abdullah did not mention Iraq or the Israeli-Palestinian crisis directly in his remarks to the conference, but said economic development was part of the answer to the world's current problems.
The meeting coincides with hearings at the International Court of Justice in the Hague on the legality of a wall that Israel is building to separate its settlements from Palestinian territory in the West Bank. Critics see the barrier as an impediment to a peace settlement, while Israel says the wall is needed to prevent suicide bombings.
Jordan has led an attack on the barrier at the hearings, arguing that the structure threatens the Kingdom's stability.
Organisers of the Malaysian conference said talks would include prospects for Middle East peace.
King Abdullah said successful private sectors could help convince Arab governments to make their economies and societies more open.
“It is the private sector that challenges the governments ... on how we are supposed to bring our societies forward,” he said. “As we get our act more and more together, we will then garner support from governments inside the Middle East and move the process forward .”
Countries represented at the conference included China, South Korea, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.

Abdullah and Sharon meet secretly
Jordan's King Abdullah and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon have met secretly for talks at Mr Sharon's ranch in southern Israel.
The two men spoke for several hours, Israel public radio reported.
The king is said to be concerned that Israel's construction of a barrier in the West Bank could prompt Palestinians to flee to Jordan.
On Friday a United Nations rapporteur said the barrier violated key aspects of international humanitarian law.
John Dugard said the barrier had caused widespread destruction of Palestinian property and that the seizure of land to build it took place without due process of law.
Mr Sharon's meeting with the Jordanian king was his first with an Arab leader since last June's Middle East summit in Aqaba.
King Abdullah flew by helicopter to Mr Sharon's ranch in the Negev desert, where the two men held a three-hour lunch meeting, reports in the Israeli media say.
Jordan fears that an influx of Palestinians would affect the delicate demographic balance in a country where at least half of the population is Palestinian.
One thing is certain- the King is a man of influence.
Do the Islamists expect a "savior"?
The answer is YES.
Do they believe he is alive now?
The answer is YES.
«MAHDI IS ALIVE AND BEING GIVEN SUSTENANCE»
When we wish to speak on this topic and prove that Mahdi, the Expected one is alive, receiving his sustenance and living a life just like others until the time when Allah gives him permission to emerge and establish the truth and Justice and destroy oppression , we are bound to mention before anything else, the following preliminaries:
First: Basically, what is deemed to be expedient is this that Mahdi is alive
Do they believe he is a descendent of Mohammad?
The answer is YES.
If you do a search on the internet for Islamic fundamentalists and the Mahdi, you will find a great deal of reports showing that there is now a rush of activity among the Islamic fundamentalists concerning the Mahdi.

Chalabi's road to victory?
By Arnaud de Borchgrave
With only three months to go before L. Paul Bremer trades in his Iraqi proconsul baton for beach ware and a hard-earned vacation, the country's most controversial politician is already well positioned to become prime minister.
Ahmad Chalabi, the Pentagon's heartthrob and the State Department's and CIA's heartbreak, has taken the lead in a yearlong political marathon. Temporary constitutional arrangements are structured to give the prime minister more power than the president . The role of the president will be limited because his decisions will have to be ratified by two deputy presidents, or vice presidents. Key ministries, such as Defense and Interior, will take orders from the PM.
Mr. Chalabi holds the ultimate weapons — several dozen tons of documents and individual files seized by his Iraqi National Congress (INC) from Saddam Hussein's secret security apparatus. Coupled with his position as head of the de-Ba'athification commission, Mr. Chalabi, barely a year since he returned to his homeland after 45 years of exile, has emerged as the power behind a vacant throne .
He also appears to have impressive amounts of cash at his disposal and a say in which companies get the nod for some of the $18.4 billion earmarked for reconstruction.
If Mr. Chalabi's fast track to power is not derailed and he becomes prime minister in July, the president won't be able to fire him unless his two deputies agree.
The provisional constitution seems tailor-made for Mr. Chalabi to call the shots into 2005. As head of the Governing Council's economic and finance committee, Mr. Chalabi already has maneuvered loyalists into key Cabinet positions in the provisional authority — finance, oil and trade. The Central Bank governor, the head of the trade bank and the managing director of the largest commercial bank also owe their positions to Mr. Chalabi's influence.
While in London exile, he cultivated close contacts with Israeli officials. He has also visited Iran a number of times to confer with leading ayatollahs in a bid for their support. He was given permission to open an INC office in Tehran. His strongest backers in the U.S. are Vice President Dick Cheney, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, and neo-conservative theoretician ("An End to Evil") Richard Perle.
I have not done any research on the geneology of Chalabi, but, he is in a position to control a lot of money intended for Iraqi reconstruction.
If, however, the ten king confederation is predominantly an "Arab nation" phenomemon intent upon minimizing US influence, then, it is more likely that the " 3-horns scenario " in Iraq will make Iraq a target of the antichrist, versus his home base.
However, we will have to wait to see how this unfolds and we may be gone before anyone knows. I have followed prophecy for over 30 years and one thing still amazes me daily - how obvious things are becoming. I never imagined that the events would be this visible as we neared the second coming. However, He DID tell us to watch (and for good reasons of course).

[This author does not necessarily "believe" all of what LaRouche says because he is questioned by many for being connected with the wrong part of the political spectrum. However, he does have some excellent contacts from which to draw intelligence. So, it is not so much his spin that is significant as is some of the raw information. When you remove some of the emotion from his articles, you get some interesting information.]
Ahmed Chalabi, a neo-conservative lunatic [remember the source], told a U.S. Senate hearing in Spring 1998 : " Give the Iraqi National Congress a base protected from Saddam's tanks, give us the temporary support we need to feed and house and care for the liberated population, and we will give you a free Iraq, an Iraq free of weapons of mass destruction, and a free-market Iraq. Best of all, the INC will do this all for free. "
It was this Straussian network [an intellectual description LaRouche uses to describe those of the neo-cons, new conservatives, that LaRouche says is running the White House] that promoted Chalabi and built up the INC [Iraqi National Congress], with help from the British Foreign Office and Israeli intelligence, after the CIA discarded Chalabi in 1996 as a fraud.
Around 1997 , Wolfowitz and Perle—who have known Chalabi, a fellow graduate of the University of Chicago, since 1985, through an introduction by their common mentor, Albert Wohlstetter, the former Trotskyite-turned-RAND Corporation Cold Warrior—enlisted the help of Gen. Wayne Downing (ret.) and former CIA Director James Woolsey, to promote the overthrow of Saddam Hussein— to be replaced by Chalabi ! For Wolfowitz and his former boss Cheney, this was the unfinished business of 1991, when their plan to march on Baghdad at the end of the Gulf War was rejected by President George H.W. Bush.
In 1998, Perle initiated a campaign, in league with his fellow neo-cons, demanding that President Bill Clinton overthrow Saddam Hussein and recognize Chalabi's INC as a provisional government. When Clinton rejected the policy, the Straussians planted scare stories about Iraq's WMD and mobilized the right-wing Israeli lobby to ram through the Iraqi Liberation Act, which provided their boy Chalabi with $97 million in U.S. funds.
The Iraq Liberation Act was the Americanization of a 1996 policy paper calling for "regime change in Iraq" that Perle had co-authored for Israeli right-wing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu entitled, "Clean Break: A New Strategy for the Realm." Other co-authors included Doug Feith, who became the paymaster of Chalabi's "Intelligence Concoction Program," and David Wurmser, a disinformation specialist in Cheney's office.
Regardless of whether we believe all that is said by LaRouche, the controversy over Chalabi is unquestionable. If you do a search for Ahmed Chalabi on the internet, you will see what I mean. There is heated disagreement on him. Somebody does not want the plan to put Chalabi in power to succeed.
We do not know how this will unfold. However, we do know one thing - the politics of Iraq will play a major role in the unfolding of the eventual antichrist, whoever he is.

King urges US to commit to Palestinian state
Monarch says reform is under way, but the ball is in the international court to create an environment that offers hope to the new generation in the region

AMMAN (JT) — His Majesty King Abdullah urged the US to “ clearly and explicitly commit to a Palestinian state ,” living side by side with Israel, and called on parties involved in the Mideast conflict to guarantee “security, peace and justice ” for their peoples.
“For Israel, it's time to end the occupation and stop the futile effort to humble the Palestinians into submission. For the Palestinian leadership, it is time to act responsibly for peace and reform their political institutions ,” King Abdullah said in a speech at the San Francisco-based Commonwealth Club on Saturday.
“There is a good reason to disagree with pessimistic observers who question the willingness of the United States to reengage seriously in the peace process [before the November presidential election] and predict the collapse of the Palestinian Authority and an end to the prospect of delivering a two-state solution,” the King added.
“We are witnessing changes in the Arab world that are removing all strategic security threats to Israel. The Arab peace declaration commits all Arab countries to accept peace with Israel,” the King explained.
On Saturday, Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher told Agence France-Presse that Jordan wants US guarantees on the final status of Palestinian occupied territories, ahead of a White House meeting between King Abdullah and US President George W. Bush .
“The meeting will enable Jordan's position to be reiterated on the Palestinian question and we want guarantees from the US administration on the final status,” said Muasher, who leaves for the United States on Sunday to join the King.
“We have heard the US administration stress in the past, and again on Friday, that the final status must not be decided in advance but during negotiations.”
During a Washington press conference with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Bush said all questions linked to the final status must be negotiated between the parties.
“We insist on this stand and on the exclusive right of the parties concerned to negotiate questions which concern the final status,” Muasher told the agency.
He said Jordan “was waiting for the US administration's explanations on this question and how that fits with resolutions held last week” by Bush who gave unprecedented support to Israel on the question of Palestinian refugees.
Bush, who met Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, said Palestinian refugees must make their homes in a future Palestinian state without the possibility of returning to those they left in Israel.
Jordan has reaffirmed its backing for their “right of return.”
Muasher said he met his Palestinian counterpart, Nabil Shaath, in Amman and had been in touch by telephone with Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia to “coordinate positions” before the US-Jordanian summit.
On US-proposed democratic reforms in the Arab world, the King told his audience at the Commonwealth Club that the Middle East does need peace, prosperity and modernity.
He added that “to address these issues will take new vision and new visionaries... who can foster responsive transparent governance, dedicate our educational systems to excellence and encourage the vigorous private sector that can harness the region's tremendous human potential.”
The King said such reform is under way, but the ball is in the international court to create an environment that offers hope to the new generation in the region.
“We in Jordan are already committed to the work for reform. It's driven by a vision, a vision that builds on our society's strengths, values and history, while it reaches out to global opportunities. And we are succeeding,” King Abdullah added.
The Commonwealth Club of California, which was marking its 101st anniversary, is the oldest and largest public affairs forum. Its 16,000 members take part in more than 400 events organised by the institution annually.
King Abdullah contributed an article titled “Reform is our priority ” to the widely circulated Wall Street Journal, stressing that reforms have already begun in the region.
“Observers of the Middle East are inclined, these days, to raise the question: Where should reform in the Arab world start — within the region or driven from outside? The issue is important, but the question is not quite accurate.
In actual fact, reform in my region has already begun ,” he wrote in the article, which was published Saturday.
“Just as most Arabs agree on reform, so too they agree that for reform to succeed, it must emerge from within our societies. Justified or not, many Arabs do not trust the motives of Western-inspired Arab reform .”

Jordanian King Postpones Bush Meeting
AMMAN, Jordan — In a surprise move, King Abdullah II (search) postponed a White House meeting with President Bush this week, citing questions Monday about the U.S. commitment to the Middle East peace process.
The snub from one of Washington's closest allies comes amid Arab anger at Bush for endorsing an Israeli proposal to withdraw unilaterally from the Gaza Strip (search) and parts of the West Bank but keep Jewish settlements on other West Bank land claimed by the Palestinians.
Looks like we are headed for "Arab inspired Arab reform."

King puts roadmap on track
Failing to establish viable, sovereign and independent Palestinian state on the basis of the 1967 borders will invoke other options, all of which will endanger Jordan's interests and that of the region — Monarch
[yes, Jordan has an interest in Mideast peace process]
By Alia Shukri Hamzeh
AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah and US President George W. Bush on Thursday said Palestinian-Israeli final status issues should not be prejudiced, and should be mutually agreed upon by the two sides.
Urging Israel to withdraw from the territory it occupied in the 1967 war, Bush told a joint press conference that final status issues must be negotiated against the backdrop of UN Security Council resolutions.
"The US will not prejudice the outcome of those negotiations," Bush said yesterday in a letter to King Abdullah. His remarks were regarded as a break away from last month's assurance to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, supporting the Jewish state's retention of some settlements in the West Bank, and a clear indication that the King has put the peace process back on track .
"I am encouraged by what I heard from you [Bush] today that these issues are not to be prejudiced, and should be mutually agreed by the parties," King Abdullah said. "Jordan believes all final status issues, including borders, refugees, Jerusalem and settlements should be a matter for the parties to decide," he added.
The King stressed that a viable, sovereign and independent Palestinian state on the basis of the 1967 borders was important to the region and within Jordan's national interest. "Failing to achieve such an outcome will invoke other options, all of which will endanger my country's interests and that of the region. This is one of the reasons why Jordan insists on a two-state solution, and why it supports the roadmap as the mechanism to get there," the King said. He reiterated Jordan's commitment to a final and comprehensive permanent status agreement based on the foundations of the Madrid conference, the principle of land-for-peace, UN Security Council resolutions 242, 338 and 1397, as well as agreements reached by both sides, and the Arab peace initiative.
[looks like the King is already driving the process!!]
Insisting that any unilateral Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the West Bank should be part of the Quartet-backed roadmap, King Abdullah said Jordan was ready to help the Palestinian Authority rebuild its capability and assume full control of the security situation .
Bush said during the press conference he was sending a letter to Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia to explain his administration's views on Middle East peace prospects. "We will expand dialogue between the US and the Palestinians," he added.
Thursday's talks were regarded as positive indications that quelled fears by Arab states that final status issues would not be prejudiced by Sharon's controversial disengagement plan.
Bush had surprised the international community, and angered Arab states, by embracing Israel's pullout plan and rejecting a longstanding Palestinian and Arab demand that refugees be allowed to return to land they lost to Israel.
According to analysts, US' one-sided negotiations with Israel over the situation in the West Bank and Palestinian territories were unacceptable and carried dangerous repercussions for the entire region. The statements were regarded as undermining the Palestinians negotiating position and marred US credibility as a peace broker. They said the US had no right to decide on behalf of the Palestinians and Arab states.
Last month, the King postponed a meeting with Bush in Washington, seeking clarifications of the US administration's position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Jordan had reportedly requested assurances , similar to those given to Israel, guaranteeing the right of return to Palestinians. The Kingdom hosts more than 1.7 million Palestinian refugees.
"The leadership of the United States is crucial in all our efforts to reach a just and lasting peace in the Middle East," the King said, expressing concern over the critical phase the region was witnessing. "It is very important for the moderate voices seeking peace in our region to prevail, so that we can break out of the cycle of violence which has held us back for too long, and put the region on a new path to stability and prosperity ," the Monarch said during the conference. [ Read about Mideast peace .]
He said Jordan was ready to shoulder with the US and the international community the common fight against terrorism , adding that terrorists' political agendas should not be allowed to succeed.
He expressed Jordan's commitment to Iraqis' quest to regain their sovereignty , rebuild their institutions, and establish a society based on freedom and democracy. He also spoke of Jordan's political and economic reform process, saying a far-reaching plan addressing the key areas of good governance, political freedoms, women's rights, judicial reform, educational reform and the liberalisation of the economy was introduced.
The King also met with US Secretary of State Colin Powel l, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice and other senior administration officials.

Jordan's King Seeks Arab Vision of Change by 2010
Sat May 15, 2004 12:16 PM ET
DEAD SEA COAST, Jordan (Reuters) - Jordan's King Abdullah said on Saturday Arabs would never accept any reforms imposed from outside , and proposed setting up a team of Arab experts to prepare a plan to be implemented by 2010.
Abdullah also told the opening session of the World Economic Forum (WEF) at a Dead Sea resort that a resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict was crucial for any progress toward reforms in the Middle East.
"...there is no trust in the region for a blueprint of reform that does not address people's concerns as they see them -- including a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," he told the meeting attended by Secretary of State Colin Powell.
Most Arab states have rejected a U.S. plan for reforms in the Middle East that does not require a solution for the Israeli-Arab conflict.
The plan, drafted under the title of the Greater Middle East , is due to be announced at a summit of the Group of Eight leaders in the United States in June.
King Abdullah said Arabs were seeking a "consensus-driven vision " of change by the year 2010.
"Soon, some of the best and the brightest in the Arab world will begin defining a more specific 'vision of the Middle East in 2010'," he said, adding that they would be guided by a group of leading members of Arab civil society .
He said the plan would be presented at a WEF meeting next January but gave little other details.
"The approach I suggest looks forward, not to a remote and a distant future, but to an attainable new present. And it is a comprehensive approach, one that deals with the region's core needs: peace based on justice, progress based on reform."
Jordan is a key U.S. ally sandwiched between the region's two hotspots -- Israel and the Palestinian territories to the west and Iraq to the east.
The young king has sided with Washington in its war in Iraq and has repeatedly called for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the creation of a Palestinian state.
He has also led calls for radical reform in the Arabic world and a shift toward democracy among Arab governments.
Arab leaders are set to hold a summit in Tunis May 22-23 -- a summit delayed by rifts over the scope and pace of political and economic reform.
Additionally, from the World Economic Forum being held in Jordan
Jordan's King Abdullah calls on world to help peace in Middle East
SHUNEH, Jordan : Jordan's King Abdullah II urged world leaders to commit themselves to a Palestinian state and the reconstruction of Iraq as the World Economic Forum (WEF) opened amid tight security.
As the three-day event on the shores of the Dead Sea, Jordan's trade unionists staged a sit-in in the capital Amman, branding the WEF as "dealers of human blood" and vowing that "imperialists will be defeated".
Politics took centre stage as King Abdullah and US Secretary of State Colin Powell took to the podium to underscore the efforts needed to bring peace to the troubled Middle East, from Gaza to Baghdad.
"The Arab-Israeli conflict, the situation in Iraq and challenges of human development, the rise of extremism remain obstacles to peace and prosperity ," King Abdullah said, setting the tone.
Powell also focused on Iraq and said he was "shocked" by the abuse of Iraqi prisoners at the hands of US forces but urged world leaders to look beyond this action and renewed US commitments to resolving the Iraqi and Palestinians crises.
King Abdullah urged world leaders to commit themselves "once and for all" to a Palestinian state living side by side Israel, noting that US President George W. Bush had promised him that he would work towards achieving that goal.
"The failure of the international community to help make that commitment a reality will only nurture more division," he warned.
"Last year I urged that there be no more missed opportunities," the king said hosting the forum at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the surface of the earth, at about 400 metres (1,300 feet) below sea level.
"Well, my friends, our world has missed some opportunities and we have seen what great price is paid -- human, political and economic -- because of continued tensions and instability," he said.
Powell told the meeting: "We will not stop working with our Palestinian and Israeli colleagues to move this process forward."
"We will take risks, risks that may be controversial when you see what we do from time to time ... but we will take those risks and we will endure the controversy when we think it is in the cause of peace," he said.
The situation in Iraq, in the run-up to the transfer of sovereignty from the US-led Coalition Provisional Authority to the Iraqis on June 30, must be addressed urgently to undercut the proliferation of "extremism", the king said.
"It is also urgent for the international community to be an active partner in building a legitimate, inclusive and effective political process in Iraq. Questions about the credibility of that process will encourage extremism and obstruct the process of regional reform."

Report: Jordan's king urges Arafat to weigh stepping aside
By The Associated Press and Haaretz Service
AMMAN - Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat should take "a long look in the mirror" and decide whether to step aside in the interest of his people, Jordan's king said in an interview published Tuesday, providing a rare indication of Arab frustration with the Palestinian leader.
In an interview with The New York Times conducted Monday, King Abdullah II also said Iraq's next ruler should be a "tough guy" with a military background capable of holding the shattered country together.
[The King is chomping at the bit to get into the middle of all this and he has said before that he is a man of action.]
We read of King Abdullah's military background-
Abdullah had commanded the elite Special Forces in the Jordanian army and is a qualified pilot who has flown jet fighters and Cobra attack helicopters . While some may question his politics and diplomatic skills, observers say Abdullah’s military background will help ensure stability in this pro-Western kingdom... Army comrades say Abdullah has shown little ambition outside the military [in the military, he must have lots of ambition], though he reportedly has built close links with young members of ruling Persian Gulf Arab dynasties....
In 1998, Abdullah led commandos in storming the hideout of gunmen who had killed eight people , including the charge d’affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan. As a result, King Hussein promoted him to major general . [Abdullah IS a "tough guy"]
Abdullah was sent to study abroad as a child, going at the age of 4 to St. Edmund’s School in Surrey, England. He finished high school in the United States. Later he studied international affairs at Oxford University in England and Georgetown University in Washington.
In 1980, Abdullah went to the British military academy at Sandhurst and served in the British army in Germany and Britain. He served with a variety of Jordanian army and air force units before being appointed deputy commander of the Special Forces in 1993. He assumed command a year later.
[No doubt he views himself as fitting the "tough guy " with a "military background" role.]
He has said he "understands" the clash of civilizations motif.
The following is the Biblical "tough guy."
And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance , and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. -- Daniel 8:23
And his power shall be mighty , but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully , and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. -- Daniel 8:24

The King and the US official outlined, during the meeting, efforts that aim at reviving the roadmap as well as the role of the US in supporting peace efforts . The King affirmed the importance of creating suitable atmosphere to resume the peace process, pointing that the Israel practices, the increase of violence in the Palestinian lands as well as the separation wall form an obstacle to resume negotiations. [Ezekiel 38 says " unwalled villages ". These links (at a minimum) reinforce the themes we have been outlining all along. Of course, time will tell who the real antichrist is. However, we do know he will come from this geographic area (Iraq/Jordan). The biggest influence to come is the rapture itself. It will have a major impact on the unfolding of the rest of the prophecies. Since we are on this side of the rapture, there is a lot we can not see.

We know that the antichrist will enter the temple and be worshipped as God at the midpoint of the tribulation period.
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. -- Daniel 9:27
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. -- 2 Thessalonians 2:4
This means that the eventual antichrist will appear on the temple mount in Jerusalem (where will have been established the Jewish temple sacrifice). Wonder who has control over the temple mount?

Jordan In Control of Temple Mount Religious Authority Instead of PA, Report Says
By Julie Stahl
CNSNews.com Jerusalem Bureau Chief
August 12, 2004
Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - For the first time in years, Jordan is in control of the administration of the Islamic religious authority on Jerusalem's Temple Mount instead of the Palestinian Authority, signaling a weakening of the PLO and a shift in Jordan's role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a new report says.
The Temple Mount, known to Muslims as the Haram al-Shariff, is one of the most hotly contested issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and has at times been a flashpoint.
Palestinians have rallied to the cause of the Mount dubbing the last nearly four years of violence as the Al-Aksa Intifadah, the uprising named after the Al-Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount.
The Temple Mount, Judaism's most holy site and the third holiest site after Mecca and Medina to Muslims, has been under Israeli security control since 1967 when Jerusalem was reunited as a result of the Six-Day war.
However, Israel allowed the Jordanian-administered Wakf Islamic religious authorities to continue running the daily affairs of the site, now occupied by two important Islamic shrines - the Al-Aksa Mosque and golden Dome of the Rock.
In an act of defiance, Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat set up shop in eastern Jerusalem and eventually appointed his own mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Ikrama Sabri, and other Palestinians officials over the Wakf, sidelining the Jordanian administration in the mid 1990s .
But according to The Expulsion of the Palestinian Authority from Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, a publication of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, Jordan is back in control of the Wakf, due to a persistent Israeli policy of pushing the PA out of the city .
"Israel has ended the Palestinian Authority's penetration of eastern Jerusalem and its control of the Muslim Wakf on the Temple Mount, restoring Jordanian religious administration of the Haram al-Sharif mosque compound ," wrote Dan Diker in the paper, citing Israeli media as well as Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian security and diplomatic sources.
"The expulsion of the Palestinian Authority from Jerusalem and the Temple Mount is the culmination of years of activity by Israeli security forces," Diker said.
"Despite only a partial restoration of the status quo in Jerusalem, the return of Jordan's traditionally moderating influence over the Muslim Wakf administration sends an important message to those on both sides of the Jordan River," he said.
Calling the new Jordanian an "important watershed," Dr. Dore Gold, president of the JCPA, said that it shows that the PLO is losing its grip.
"It points to a real trend to the weakening of the PLO presence ," Gold said by telephone.
"[Israeli] Prime Minister [Ariel] Sharon is firm in his position that Jerusalem not be re-divided," said Gold.
[scripture says it will be divided, Zechariah 14:2 and Revelation 11:1-2]
With Sharon's disengagement plan confined to the Gaza and the northern West Bank, West Bank Palestinians might have to choose in the future to make a choice in the future between linking themselves to Jordan or with what they consider the less desirable Gaza Strip , he said.
[linking Jordan and the Palestinians has been the plan of the neocons all along, plus Jordanian/Hashemite influence over Iraq ]
These are the REAL reasons for invading Iraq.
While Amman's resumed control of the Muslim Wakf "will not result in Jordan's annexation of the West Bank," Diker said, that coupled with the Gaza disengagement plan, "has perhaps created a new opportunity for a greater cooperation between West Bankers and Jordan."
According to Gold, the Jordanian participation means that the "paradigm" for an Israeli-Palestinian peace "has been reopened."
[Read this in regards to "peace." ]
Jordanian Foreign Ministry officials were not available to comment.
Palestinian legislator Ziad Abu Ziad said that Jordan had always been in control of the Temple Mount and, according to Israeli-Palestinian agreements, the PA was not allowed to have any official presence in Jerusalem.
When pressed Abu Ziad admitted that while "officially speaking" the Temple Mount is under Jordanian control, "practically" it was in Palestinian hands.
According to the Oslo Accords, the PA was not allowed to have any presence in Jerusalem and the status of the city was to be discussed only in permanent status negotiations.
But the PA set up institutions in Jerusalem following the signing of the Oslo Accords and operated the Orient House in eastern Jerusalem as a de facto PA Foreign Ministry, receiving diplomats and leaders from around the world.
Two competing visions
During the Oslo process, the PA was rarely confronted with infractions of the agreements it had made with Israel, but Israeli divisions exacerbated the issue.
"Since the Oslo Accords there were two lines," said Gold. The Oslo Accords, signed in 1993 on the White House lawn, represented the opening of official relations between Israel and the PLO.
"There was the line adopted by current Labor Party leader Shimon Peres that the Palestinians would have control over religious institutions in Jerusalem," Gold said.
On the other side there was the treaty negotiated by the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin with the late Jordanian King Hussein, which stated that, "Israel respects the present special role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Muslim holy shrines in Jerusalem."
When permanent status negotiations begin with the Palestinians, "Israel will give high priority to the Jordanian historic role in these shrines," it said.
"There were two competing visions," Gold said. When former Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was in office, he reinforced Rabin's understanding, and made a reduction in the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem a pre-condition to a deal on Hebron.
Gold was involved in negotiating a "Note for the Record," which was attached to the redeployment protocol for Hebron in 1997.
One of the Palestinian obligations in that note stated that Palestinian council offices and governmental activity could only take place in areas where Palestinians had jurisdiction and not in areas where Israel maintained control or in Jerusalem.
Four years later in August 2001 Public Security Minister Uzi Landau, raided and closed the Orient House following a deadly suicide bombing in Jerusalem.
Since then, Israel has arrested and expelled Palestinian security agents in Jerusalem's Old City, Diker said.

Benny Elon Presented "Jordan is Palestine" Plan to Prince Hassan
17:44 Aug 17, '04 / 30 Av 5764
MK Benny Elon, whom Prime Minister Sharon fired from his position as Tourism Minister because of his opposition to the disengagement/expulsion plan, presented his "Jordan is Palestine" plan to Jordan's Crown Prince Hassan .
Elon disclosed to Arutz-7 today that his meetings with Hassan and other Jordanian officials took place several months ago in Geneva, while he was still a Cabinet minister. He said that the Prince said that his country would be hard-put to accept such a plan because it doesn't trust Israel: "They saw what happened in Lebanon [with the sudden abandonment of the Southern Lebanese Army - ed.] and with the collaborators in Yesha [Judea, Samaria and Gaza]," and also that Israel always gave precedence to diplomatic initiatives with the Palestinian Authority as opposed to with Jordan.
Despite this reaction, MK Elon feels that if and when the U.S. agrees to recognize Jordan as "the representative of the Palestinians, and treats Israel-Jordan as the democratic axis in this region," including significant economic aid to Jordan, "our neighboring kingdom's leadership will view this plan much more sympathetically."
MK Elon headed Yeshivat Beit Orot in Jerusalem before entering politics, and succeeded the murdered Rehavam Ze'evi as head of the Moledet Party. The Elon peace plan, entitled "The Right Road to Peace," calls for the residents of the refugee camps to be
resettled in Arab countries, while other Arabs living in Yesha will become Jordanian citizens. "The first to go [to Jordan] will be the terrorists, of course," Elon said, "while those with property here and who have been living here for generations - they held Jordanian citizenship up until 1988, when King Hussein took it away - will continue to live in Judea and Samaria, but with renewed Jordanian citizenship."
MK Elon will depart tomorrow for the United States, where he will continue to promote his plan among American leaders. He will also meet there with Jewish and Christian leaders in an attempt to increase their awareness of the dangers and negative ramifications of the establishment of a Palestinian state in the Holy Land.
The Elon Plan, which is being mailed to all Jewish residents of Yesha this week, calls for the dismantling of the Palestinian Authority , which Elon says is an "entity without a future, whose existence precludes the end of the conflict." The plan also calls for Israel to take absolute steps to end Palestinian terrorism, including the collection of all weapons, dismantling of terrorist hotbed refugee camps, and the expulsion of terrorists and their accomplices.
The next step in the Elon Plan is international aid to Jordan in recognition of its role as the only representative of the Palestinian people and to help it absorb a certain amount of refugees.
[The financial aid is a strong inducement to Jordan, whose resources will be pressed severely by such an arrangement. especially when there are discussions of pressure from Iraq, read certain intelligence operatives, threatening Jordan. Such discussions may well be for the purpose of putting the squeeze on Jordan and then using the money as its "salvation" from the strain of the Palestinian population. Such "financial aid" is prophesied in the Bible. ]
In this connection, Haggai Segal reports that Jordan has greatly restricted, over the past few days, the granting of entry visas to Arab citizens of Judea and Samaria - leaving thousands of Arabs stranded at the bridges and entrances from Israel to Jordan. According to the plan, however, Israel will be sovereign over Judea, Samaria and Gaza, with Arab residents receiving Jordanian citizenship .
The last stages of the plan involve an internationally-funded completion of the "exchange of populations" that began in 1948 between Jews of Arab countries and Arabs in Israel. This will include the complete absorption of the former refugees in the various countries. Israel and Jordan will then declare the end of the conflict between them and will establish full and friendly relations .
The plan makes clear that a small, sliced-up and crowded Palestinian state in the areas of Judea and Samaria, aside a threatened and narrow Israel - such as envisioned in the Road Map plan - is a sure recipe for war in the near future.
Segal asked, "Your problem, however, is not in convincing the Israelis, but rather in persuading Jordan to agree to take on the role you're assigning it."
Elon: "This is something I learned from Arik Sharon. First we have to convince the Israelis, then the Americans, and only then - everyone else. It's inconceivable that we keep looking for a partner, checking what they'll agree to, and building our positions based on that - as [Yossi] Beilin did. I believe that in Jordan we have with whom to talk." Here he disclosed that he had met with Hassan, and that the meeting was "not at all bad." Relating to the understandable Jordanian fear that a surplus of Palestinians will overthrow the Hashemite Kingdom, Elon said, "There is no reason for us to view the situation as if the Palestinian state will be formed there; rather, for us, the Jordanian government as it now stands is much better than any Palestinian Authority that could arise there... In short, Hassan made it clear that under certain circumstances, he could agree to this plan - and that Jordan was originally not even in favor of detaching itself from the Palestinians, as King Hussein did in 1988."
Asked whether he had discussed his plan with Prime Minister Sharon, MK Elon said, "Yes, and more than once. I reminded him that he himself had said many times that Jordan is Palestine . He said that now, however, we have a tactical need for Jorda n, in that it does much of the work of protecting our border. This is of course good, but we need to have a comprehensive strategic plan that will end the conflict - as the only one who gains from its perpetuation is Arafat, not Israel. We must know that the British gave up 78% of its mandate - the historic Land of Israel - in order to create a Palestinian state on it; this is much to be regretted, but it is inconceivable that on the remaining 22%, yet another Palestinian state should be formed. We have to know and make it clear - first of all to ourselves - that Sharon wants to return us to the Green Line. He says he wants to preserve the settlement blocs, but really he is fooling everyone, including, possibly, himself; pay no heed to his act of getting upset at Olmert for saying it aloud."
